Chapter 121: Factory

"What the" Alex jumped back when he saw the wolves. He looked around but didn't see any others. There were 3 wolves in front of him and 9 gremlins. Alex took a deep breath and smiled, "Lucky for me, I got good rest I'm feeling better than ever!" He didn't hesitate when jumping towards the gremlins. He had already taken care of them before, doing it again was like child's play for him. 

However, With confidence, comes overestimation. Alex killed two gremlins but a scratch appeared on his back. At first, It felt like nothing but slowly the pain started to set in. Alex groaned but he kept on. He jumped towards another gremlin and punched it. As he did so, He healed himself while regenerating the mana from the gremlins. 'I just need to take care of these leeches first After that, I will only be able to take on these damn wolves.' Alex looked back at where the three wolves were with a shocked gaze. A gremlin scratched Alex on the leg causing him to jump back. 

Alex looked around and spoke, "I got distracted But the wolves, They disappeared I can't see them anymore" Alex said as he slowly healed his body. His mana was running out due to the excessive healing he was doing because of the first cut but now, He had to heal his legs from the Gremlin's attack again. Alex took a deep breath and tried to relax as he ran around the room to a new cover. He wanted to be careful but also find out what was up with the wolves. 

As Alex ran, He heard a noise behind him, Making the jump. Alex looked back and saw a wolf jumping out and attacking where he was. Alex's eyes opened and his mind started to think, 'These wolves come for the walls! No That would be impossible to deal with I need to observe more!' He thought as he continued to run around to every corner in the room. 

As he did, Alex noticed the wolves jumping out to attack him and then disappearing into the floor. Alex looked around for possible clues until a certain thought hit him. Alex looked at the ground and noticed that the wolves were sinking into the very dark shadows of the rooms where the lights were minimum. A small frown formed on Alex face when he realized the secret behind the wolves. He had to make a plan but taking down the gremlins was his top priority as well. 

He slowly and carefully avoided the dark parts of the rooms while taking down the gremlins. However, It wasn't as easy as he thought it to be. The wolves would jump out and attack him regardless of how close he was to the shadows. They would try to attack when he had his guards down the least. 

Seeing this tactic made Alex hesitate. He slowed down when taking on the gremlins but as they started to pile up on him, Alex had no choice but to hurry his pace. He needed to take them down as quickly as possible. "They just keep on coming!" Alex yelled as he progressively became angrier as the number of gremlins didn't decrease but rather, It was increasing!

Mary took a seat and took a deep breath, 'I'd rather have Oj's job right now. This is just boring. All I'm doing is asking for paperwork and looking through them. Nothing interesting. If I was in his position, I would at least do something more than sitting and reading.' She whined internally. A few soldiers who were across the room looked at Mary and whispered, "Our Inspection has come really quickly this month And this time, It's an A ranked Awakened. Something huge must be up right now for them to send her here More of us being kept around the factory so something's fishy"

Another soldier replied, "That's obvious dumbass But It is kind of scaring me, maybe something huge happened and we are the top suspects? She seems to be asking for paperwork." The soldiers discussed their theories as Mary Whined to herself. 

She took a deep breath and stood up, 'Well, I need to get back to the job, I can't really waste my time with this, can I?' She knew that this mission was as important as Oj's and that she had to do a proper job. 

Midnight continued asking for the paperwork and went through them all. After a while, She wrote down a dozen names and smiled, 'If it was one of the soldiers, there are the main suspects All of them were out on a break during the last week. So if one of them were manipulated or defected to the enemy, I would only need to investigate them to find out!' Mary was back to being energetic. 

Oj walked into the factory, A small smile on his face. 'Luckily, We had a break I can now sneak through the factory to the main office' He walked into the factory with two others. The two looked at Oj with suspicious gazes but before they could say anything, Oj struck them down.

'Seeing your buddy suddenly become taller and bulkier would have also been a shocking thing to see At least they didn't see my face in the dark.' Oj hid the two soldiers and smiled, 'I'm finally in!' It seemed like was waiting for an opportunity to say that phrase. 

Slowly and carefully, Oj snuck around the guards in the factory. He didn't need to worry about any cameras as there were none inside. 'The fact that cameras are banned inside the Factory smells suspicious to me. But I don't think anyone can name a military that isn't suspicious The weapons being produced here must be something though. I think I saw a few huge machines that looked like it could produce some high grade weapons However, I couldn't even see how it worked.' He noted as he walked through the machines.

Words will be around 1k-1.2k per day, one chapter a day. But the amount of chapters will depend on powerstones as well. I have my own problems right now so writing isn't my main focus right now. Not even the secondary but I will continue to write daily until the novel is complete (Again, can't rule out exceptions, they are sure to come days when I can't write a few days, I'm talking about the month of may where I will be busy.)
