Chapter 424 – Don't Think About It

Max smiled at Ferin, who made herself comfortable and sat next to him.

"I appreciate it, but you don't need to. I have everything in my control–"

"Lies." Ferin cut him off and crossed her legs, "You won't curse if you have everything under control. The fact you, who never whined, did that is because this problem you face is bigger than you ever handled or guessed. Am I wrong?"

'She got me.' He thought, smiling wryly.

Not that it mattered. Max needed this talk, he knew it.

"Promise you won't tell the others?"

"My lips are sealed." Ferin made a gesture sealing her lips and Max nodded.

He took a deep breath and let himself relax.

"Well, something is indeed troubling me." He said, "Have you ever been afraid of the future?"

"Nope! I know the future pretty well, so it doesn't scare me!" She exclaimed, puffing her chest.

When he looked at her with narrowed eyes, she looked back at him with a gentle gaze.

"I guess that's not the case for you?"

"If that's the case, I won't be troubled now." He answered, sarcasm escaping his mouth involuntarily.

"Wow, you're so sensitive now." Even Ferin was surprised, "So, I will just listen. Go ahead and pour out your problem."

"… Alright."

Max began to tell her what he felt and why he was afraid. Not in detail, but talking about it with Ferin somehow lifted the burden he felt.

Unexpectedly, she also gave pretty good advice.

"Don't think about it. The future can change easily. For example, you can decide whether to marry Lily or not today. If you choose to propose, there is a good chance she will accept and you will be engaged right away. If you choose to delay… Well, you will stay as you currently are. See?

No need to be afraid."

A short and simple way to deal with things. Just don't think about it.

"Somehow, that's a good way to deal with it." Max laughed, "Can the future really be changed that easily?"

"I assure you, it can." Ferin nodded with a serious face, which was rare for her. "Will you believe it if I say that I have changed a lot of the future?"

Max looked at her.

'Did she mean by giving many people a chance to model, thus changing their future?'n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

That sounded plausible.

Many people were unlucky to not be discovered by a talent agency. Just like what happened to BloodSucker, Ferin seemed to always invite people to join her agency.

Maybe she had saved some unfortunate people and changed their future by giving them a chance and publicity in modeling jobs.

"Can't say that I don't believe you."

"Fufu, right? Changing the future is that easy! Just throw some money here and there, prepare for the worst, and you won't be in a slump for the next few decades."

"I don't have that much money." He smiled wryly.

"Don't worry. Your girlfriend is also rich. Just marry her."

"Now you're giving me a weird idea."

"Hahaha."

Both of them talked a lot until Lily finished her rehearsal.

Following that, everyone checked the equipment once more before rehearsing for the last performance, Max and Lily's duet. It was a bit different from the other, they even had to change the stage for it. But everything went pretty well.

The rehearsal ended at 9 PM. Everyone, except for the staff, logged out.

Max climbed out of his capsule and looked to his left. Lily looked pretty tired. Upon seeing her, he took the B-Grade Nutritional Supplement he prepared beforehand, which he bought for a fortune, and gave it to her.

"Drink this. You need to take care of your condition for tomorrow. We will start pretty early in the morning, so go to sleep after this."

"Thank you, I need that." Lily drank the supplement and climbed out her capsule. She changed her clothes and sat on the bed.

Max did the same. He sat next to her and their hands intertwined without both saying anything. With their hands touching each other, he could feel that hers was trembling.

"Are you nervous?" Max asked quietly, whispering even.

"Un." Lily nodded without hiding it. "Tomorrow is a big day for me. A day where I will stand on a stage with more than 500 thousand people watching. I am afraid that I will mess it up. What if I… make a mistake? I actually want it to be smaller in scale, but…"

"Your brother is going all out." Max finished the sentence for her, and she nodded. "I can't say that I don't understand his feeling of wanting to make it grand, but yeah… I think we never think about that because we believe in you. We trust you that you would be okay even in front of a big audience."

"…"

It was kind of… strange. Just a few hours ago, he was given advice by Ferin. And now he was sitting here, advising his lover.

"Just be yourself and kill the audience with your voice."

"Am I a game character? Pfft."

She burst into laughter. Tears formed on the edge of her eyes. She seemed to feel better than before as her hand stopped trembling.

"Thank you, Max. I need that."

"Anytime." He said, smiling gently. "We also managed to pull the last stunt together. That was pretty fun."

"Un, it was. I also liked the clothes better than my singing clothes, honestly. Ah, don't tell Peachy about it. I don't want to disappoint her."

"Why? Your clothes look pretty cute. It makes you look like a fairy."

"That's why I don't like it…" She muttered, "It makes me look… vulnerable? Yet, I want to look like a strong girl."

"Just think of it this way." Max raised his index finger. "The fairy finally gained her courage and flew freely with someone who took her away. Isn't that romantic?"

Lily looked at Max for a while before smiling, "I never thought you were one who said such a cheesy line."

Hearing that, he chuckled.

"I am a streamer. I can say such a cheesy line anytime. If you want, I can also make you cringe."

"Please, don't."

That didn't stop him from doing it. Lily gave up and just went to sleep to avoid hearing another cringe line from her boyfriend.
