Back For My Daughter

Chapter 264 - Shouldn't I Be Thanking You!

The Sun had risen thus bringing with it the start of a new day while many birds and people went out of their homes and do their daily work.

But there were very few people since it was a weekend.

In a house near Muqin Park.

While the house was all alone in that place while surrounded by construction beside it from all three sides.

There one would hear someone laugh and talk if they were attentive enough.

In the kitchen, Ye Qian and Grandma Yan sat side by side while a cup of tea right in front of them and a few slices of fruits and a bowl of nuts.

Grandma Yan continued to talk about the many things that had happened in their town and village.

Sometimes she would be laughing out loud while the other time she would shake her head and sigh.

Ye Qian continued to listen to all the things his mother wanted to say out and felt even happier.

He knew that his mother would never say all these things to anyone, not even his father or Yuan Meng and it would only be him whom she would say it out too.

"Hehehe"

"Grandma, Papa"

While Grandma was saying an incident about something that happened in the town and was giggling a sweet pearl of laughter reverberated throughout the kitchen.

The two didn't even have to turn around to know who it was.

Little Qiqi and Little Jia skipped in while spreading their hands.

Little Qiqi had her hair divided into two portions of left and right while they were tied into two ponies on top of her head.

It looked like small coconut or pine trees.

Ye Qian turned his head around and saw that she was dressed in a small knee-length flowery patterned dress with a jacket.

While on her shoulder the small sparrow stood while looking around the house with her small bead-like eyes.

Ye Qian lips curved into a smile as he extended his arms towards her.

The little girl was already running to him so within just a couple of seconds she was right in front of him.

"Haha, I see you have done bathing and dressing very quickly."

Ye Qian rubbed her small nose and chuckled.

'Hehe, Papa, Qiqi wanted to get first on the table."

Little Qiqi giggled and glanced around.

A small pout appeared on her lips as she continued.

"But Qiqi lost because Grandma came here first."

She mumbled with a bit dejected tone.

Ye Qian shook his head with a light smile and turned to Grandma Yan.

"My little girl, you are the one who is first, see."

Saying that Grandma Yan stood up from her chair and picked up a piece of apple and brought it to Little Qiqi.

"Huh?"

Little Qiqi and Ye Qian were both confused as to what Grandma Yan was doing but the little girl still opened her mouth and had a bite of the apple.

"See aren't you the first to have the breakfast?"

Grandma Yan said with a wide smile and caressed Little Qiqi's face.

"Ohhhh."

Little Qiqi's eyes brightened as she continued to chew on the apple while taking it from her grandma.

She nodded her head and then brought the remaining piece of apple to the small sorrow who just munched it down in no less than a second.

Ye Qian lightly caressed her head as well to which she chirped in a delighted manner and pecked his finger.

"So where is your big sister, Butterfly?"

Ye Qian asked seeing that Little Jia had not arrived until now, he had thought that the two would rush to him like always but that didn't happen now.

Little Qiqi glanced at him and shook her head.

"Papa, Aunt Wei is making Big Sister's hair."

Little Qiqi said while holding the apple in her palm and the small sparrow continued to peck on it while standing on her shoulder.

"Hmm."

Ye Qian nodded while Grandma Yan took Little Qiqi from Ye Qian's hands.

"Here, come to Grandma and give a kissi!"

Grandma Yan

"Hehe."

Little Qiqi grinned and hugged Grandma Yan while giving her a few pecks on her cheeks.

"Grandma, you look so pretty."

Little Qiqi exclaimed after pecking her cheeks.

"Ohh really?"

Grandma Yan grinned while feeling happy in her heart, of course, she knew that she looked beautiful now, but being complimented by others would give her a burst of happiness.

And that would be more if the one who was complimenting her were her son and granddaughter.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian stood there while looking at Little Qiqi and Grandma Yan as they two sat on the chair.

"Papa."

While he was in a daze a sweet and heart warming voice enters his ears.

Ye Qian's heart was like dripping with honey and he turned around to see Little Jia standing by the door while holding both her hands together and looking at him in an adorable manner.

Ye Qian smiled and took a step towards her and lightly patter her head.

Little Jia was wearing a hooded shirt and jeans just like always but her hair was braided into two loops which were tied back to while making a loop of them on the two sides of her head.

She could only be called as cute.

"Thank you, Papa."

Little Jia looked up at him with an innocent smile and hugged Ye Qian's legs.

"Haha, why thank me?"

"Shouldn't I be thanking you?"

Ye Qian chuckled lightly and rubbed her cheeks and picked her up.

"Ummhmmm"

Little Jia shook her head and smiled.

"You should be hungry right, lest get some breakfast for you two first."

Ye Qian asked while placing Little Jia beside Little Qiqi and asked while bringing some fruits, cereals and some congee.

He then sat beside the two as he started to peel the eggs while Grandma Yan fed the two.

The two girls were already feeling hungry, and so without saying anything they started to eat with a smile on their lips.

The breakfast that their Papa made was always tasty.
