[Location: New York Institute] [3rd POV]
Hours had passed since Talia had awoken, with her and Hope having some...alone time. Most of which was Hope taking in her scent, happy that her mate was okay, and not harmed.
The two were currently cuddled up against eachother, enjoying eachothers warmth. Hope was snuggled into the crook of Talia's neck, enjoying the warmth of the woman she loved so very much. While Talia was softly stroking Hope's hair, a soft smile on her face.
"I truly am sorry, Hope. I didn't know that Michael was going to do that, and I sure as hell didn't know it would have such a reaction" Talia said softly, causing Hope to look up into her eyes.
"It's okay, it's not your fault. It's just...it was a little scary" Hope said with a small smile, before pecking Talia on the lips.
"You're perfect, you know that?" Talia said, a small grin on her face.
"Duh, that's obvious" Hope said with a teasing smirk, causing Talia to roll her eyes at her adorable girlfriend.
The two were cut off from their alone time, as the door was knocked on. Hearing this, Talia sighed and snapped her fingers, causing clothes to form onto her and Hope's body, causing the latter to pout.
"It's open!" Talia said, as the door all but slammed open, revealing Isabelle, who had relieved look on her face.
"You're okay!" Isabelle said, running towards Talia, checking over her entire body, much to her amusement.
"Mmhmm. Just had to deal with the heavenly fire, that's all" Talia said with a smile.
"What-What was that? The flame you summoned? And how did you summon angels?" Isabelle asked, looking Talia in the eyes, while Hope was smirking softly, as she noticed the way Isabelle was holding Talia's hand.
"How about I tell you when we have that date? If it goes well at least" Talia said, a soft smile on her face. She didn't want to just willy nilly tell Isabelle and Clary about the whole "Multiverse" thing, much less the whole "I'm your mate, oh, and a quadbrid". She doubted it would go over entirely well with them, so, she was waiting until they were actually together, like she did with Hope.
"Hmph Fine" Isabelle said with a huff, but a small dusting of pink on her cheeks, showed just how excited she was in regards to their little date planned.
'Cute' Talia thought with an inward smirk, enjoying the sight of Isabelle blushing. Now she just needed to get Clary to react the same way.
"So...is that what you came here for? Or..." Talia asked.
"Hmm? Oh, no! I was just checking in on you. But now that you're awake, do you want to come with us to the meeting with the meeting with the downworlders?" Isabelle asked, causing Talia to shrug.
"Might as well" Talia said with a smile, glancing at Hope who grasped her hand in her own. "Alright then, lead the way, Izzy" Talia said with a smile, causing Isabelle to nod and walked out of the door, Hope and Talia trailing behind. The latter keeping her head up, trying not to glance at her unknowing mates perfect ass.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Hope snickered at her girlfriends expression, as it was obvious Talia was trying not to glance. Though with the way her hips were swaying, it seemed as if that was Isabelle's goal in the first place.
Walking into the main area of the institute, the trio was met with Clary, Alec, and Jace. The former two's eyes widened at the sight of her, before relieved smiles formed on their faces.
"You're awake!" Clary exclaimed, breathing a sigh of relief, as the dread that had been in her heart for the past few days, was gone now.
"Yep! Good as new, just needed a little recuperating, that's all" Talia said with a smile, while blatantly lying to their faces, which they noticed, but didn't comment on. None of them thought it to be a good idea to pry into Talia's business, so they left it alone.
"So, hows the hunt been so far?" Talia asked Alec, as the group walked towards where the meeting was being held.
"Dead end. We found Jonathan's hideout, but he's already left. That's the reason this downworlder meeting was called, in hopes that we can work together and find the two" Alec said, causing Talia to hum with a nod.
"And why not just ask me? I'm sure I can find Jonathan easily enough" Talia said with a raised eyebrow. Her spells alone could find them, not to mention the sheer amount of familiars she had, in the form of nearly 100 crows, and over 250 rats. They alone could find the two within a couple of hours, if she wished.
"That's what I wanted to do, but the Clave denied the idea. And somehow I doubt the downworlders agree either" Alec said with a sigh, not liking the fact that the Clave would deny her, even if it was evident that she could find the two, especially with her track record.
"Hmm, that's rather suspicious. Circle members in the Clave are trying their best, aren't they?" Talia said, the circle being Valentine's own little faction, and an annoying one at that. The group all nodded at this, as it was pretty evident that was the case.
Walking into the meeting room, Talia noticed the Seelie Queen sitting in a chair, surrounded by Luke, Magnus, and Raphael.
Looking at the Seelie Queen, Talia raised an eyebrow 'She's pretty strong...not bad' Talia thought, mildly impressed with the little queen.
"Where, oh where is Simon?" The Seelie Queen asked, looking to the group that was entering. She glanced at Talia and Hope in particular, remembering the information she had gathered
about the former.
"Your highness. What an unpleasant surprise" Clary said, glaring at the Seelie Queen, remembering that she was the one who pretty much forced her to break both Jace and Simon's hearts, after revealing she wasn't even remotely in love with either of them.
"I'm sure she didn't mean to-" "No offense Alec, but I agree with Clary. Your majesty...is this another one of your little games?" Jace said, cutting off Alec.
"The institute called an emergency meeting of the downworld council. I speak on behalf of the downworld" The Seelie Queen replied.
"Not me you don't. Because I sure as hell wouldn't vote you in" Talia said with a deadpan, not at all trusting the Seelie Queen.
"Magnus, is this true?" Alec asked, deciding not to even try and stop Talia from commenting.
"Henceforth, when you need anything from the Downworld you shall address me, Mr. Lightwood. Such is the nature of our new agreement" The Seelie Queen added.
"Hmm, and I don't remember every agreeing to this, did I? I'm part of the council too, you know" Talia said with a raised eyebrow, glancing at the other three that were supporting the
Seelie Queen.
"And why were you a part of the council? You are not a leader of anything, are you?" The Seelie Queen said, almost condescendingly.
Talia looked the queen in the eyes, a small chuckle escaping her lips "I could be a leader if I wanted to, quite easily might I add. But, being a leader seems like a chore. And as amusing as it would be, to take over the downworlder council myself, it would be a waste of time" Talia said with a shrug, deciding to be blunt.
"Unlike the others in this room, I am not all that scared of you, and your frankly disappointing magic. So, I would appreciate it if you stop believing yourself to be my Queen or leader. Because I'd never follow under another, much less someone so much weaker than myself" Talia said with a smile, while the Seelie Queen all but glared at her.
"We were going to ask for your help to find Valentine, but I am quite certain you aren't going to do that. Just as I have a inkling of what you'll do when you inevitably find the man" Talia said, causing the Seelie Queen to respond.
"For far too long, the downworld has depended on the Clave. And this institute to protect us, from men like Valentine. It's time we learn our lesson and started fighting for ourselves" "We can't do this alone. Valentine is a threat to all of us" Alec said, not understanding why
she would deny this.
"The answer, Shadowhunters...is no" The Seelie Queen stated.
"Come along" The Seelie Queen said, beginning to walk off, while turning to Magnus and the
rest for them to follow.
"Ah, before you leave, Seelie Queen, I must advise you not to try spying on me again. Because if I catch one of your little dogs, then I'll kill them, and then you" Talia said with an eye smile, while her guards raised their spears towards her.
"You know, for a bunch of guards meant to protect the queen. You lot are awful at fighting, aren't you? One glance and I can tell you don't know how to actually use those spears in your hands" Talia said with an amused chuckle.
The Shadowhunters silently listened to Talia, surprised at her attitude. While Hope massaged her head, knowing that Talia was not a fan of the Seelie Queen...in the slightest.
"I don't believe you have the power to do that. And if you did, you would start a war" The
Seelie Queen stated.
"I'm the strongest Warlock on the planet. Trust me, I have more than enough power to wipe out your little army. As for a war...well, let's just say I can make an army if I wish to" Talia said with a smile, remembering her numerous summoning spells.
The Seelie Queen didn't say another word, as she walked out, her guards as well as Magnus
alongside her.
Talia seeing this, turned to the rest of the group.
"Personally, I think that went well" Talia said with a smile, while the rest could only sigh at
what she said.
"Yep, just perfect" Alec replied with a sigh.
"Glad you think so too! Now...are we going to go and hunt the two of them, or not?"
