Chapter 166: What A Group Of Heroes Are Capable Of (1)

Alex's PoV:

Distere and I decided to retaliate against the attack of the huge cheetah. It was already troublesome for the both of us that the huge cheetah kept on attacking us without even having Distere and I counter the attacks of the huge cheetah.

The huge cheetah pounced on Distere instead of me after the huge cheetah had known that I was much more of a troublesome opponent than Distere was.

But of course, Distere was much worst than me and his child-like appearance would only deceive his opponents. Distere was much cruel than me since he could kill without any hesitation as long as that opponent he had killed was getting in his way.

I was lenient towards the huge cheetah since I still had not used my swordsmanship techniques against the huge cheetah.

But in Distere's case, Distere instantly used his mana to condensed the mana into a sword and Distere wielded and pointed the sword towards the huge cheetah.

Seeing that Distere was armed with a sword, the huge cheetah directed its claws towards Distere while the huge cheetah had pounced towards Distere.

The huge cheetah was only a few meters away from Distere and it was heading towards Distere as seconds had passed by.

Distere raised his condensed mana sword upwards, waited for the huge cheetah to reach his attack radius and then he started his attack towards the huge cheetah.

Distere's condensed mana sword collided with the sharp claws of the huge cheetah and upon the collision of both sharp and durable objects, sparks kept on generating while the 'thing sound reverberated in the forest.

Distere used his power to swat the huge cheetah using his condensed mana sword but the huge cheetah was too heavy to be pushed back by Distere.

Therefore, Distere was left with no choice but to withdraw his attack which caused the huge cheetah to fall towards his place due to the amount of force that the huge cheetah had used to resist the attack of Distere.

The situation between Distere and the huge cheetah was similar to a tug of war between two different parties and since Distere had released the 'rope' or also known as his attack, the force of the huge cheetah backfired which caused the huge cheetah to push itself towards Distere.

As Distere and the huge cheetah were battling against each other, the other members of our group had also started their fight against the other high-level monsters.

Satomi was currently fighting against the huge tiger and Satomi was continuously being killed by the huge tiger. Fortunately, Satomi was immortal so instead of being killed by the huge tiger, Satomi was getting stronger as he was being killed by the huge tiger.

The huge tiger was using its sharp claws to cut and rip the body of Satomi into pieces while Satomi on the other hand was regenerating from the attacks of the huge tiger.

The battle between the huge tiger and Satomi was like a battle between two monsters and Satomi couldn't be regarded as a human anymore.

Luckily, Satomi was part of the heroes party so the heroes and I wouldn't need to eliminate Satomi since Satomi would become a potential threat in the future.

The growth rate of Satomi depended on how many times he was killed and since Satomi was already numb to pain due to experiencing it a thousand times, Satomi no longer had any weaknesses except for the fact that his soul could be destroyed.

I was the only one who could kill Satomi in this world and since Satomi was still a part of the heroes party, I wouldn't need to kill Satomi for the time being.

If Satomi had decided to cooperate with the Demons, then I wouldn't stand in ceremony and I would kill him without any hesitation.

The huge tiger that Satomi was battling against had already grown tired and irritated by the fact that Satomi couldn't be killed by the huge tiger.

The huge tiger attempted in killing Satomi by decapitating Satomi, opening Satomi's skull, and smashing Satomi's brain into meat paste.

It was quite a cruel spectacle to behold but I was already used to it after I had witnessed the memories I had when I was in the organization that had experimented on my brain.

The brain of Satomi that was turned into meat paste floated in the air and reconstructed including the pieces of bones from Satomi's skull.

Of course, the huge tiger had expected that such a thing would happen so the huge tiger quickly went towards the place where the body of Satomi was being reconstructed.

The huge tiger interfered with the body reconstruction of Satomi as the huge tiger slashed its sharp claws towards Satomi's head that was floating in the air.

Although Satomi was powerless against the huge tiger, Satomi still had fulfilled his purpose for joining our group which was to at least stall one of the high-level monsters.

Since the huge tiger was pissed off by the fact that Satomi was immortal, then the huge tiger would consume all of its time to attempt in killing Satomi.

Satomi on the other hand didn't mind that he was powerless against the huge tiger since he was already used to it. That was one of the prices that Satomi had paid for being an immortal. That price was being weak at the beginning and slow growth pace.

Satomi was similar to Subaru who was practically much more immortal than Satomi. After all, Subaru could restart from his death and start at his save point while Satomi cannot affect time itself but only his mortal body.

As Satomi was keeping the huge tiger occupied, Pedonar and Aileen were teaming up against the level 77,000 great forest spirit.

Pedonar had used his death magic to attack the level 77,000 great forest spirit while Aileen used dragonic magic to deal with the level 77,000 great forest spirit.

Since level 77,000 great forest spirit couldn't be harmed with normal means, then Pedonar and Aileen had resorted to using special means to harm level 77,000 great forest spirit.

The death magic of Pedonar worked perfectly against the humanoid body of the level 77,000 great forest spirit since the mana that made up the humanoid of the level 77,000 great forest spirit was nature mana.

Since death mana was the nemesis of nature magic that relied on the life force from nature itself, then Pedonar was bound to harm the humanoid body of the level 77,000 great forest spirit without any problems.

On the other hand, Aileen wasn't that faring well against the level 77,000 great forest spirit since her dragonic magic wasn't that much affecting the level 77,000 great forest spirit, unlike Pedonar.

Even though Aileen wasn't that much of a threat towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit, Aileen could still inflict a decent amount of damage towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit.

The level 77,000 great forest spirit was intelligent enough to avoid the attacks of Pedonar but with the cost of having Aileen damage itself.

But of course, it was much more tolerable for the level 77,000 great forest spirit to be damaged by Aileen than Pedonar since being damaged by death magic didn't allow the humanoid body of the level 77,000 great forest spirit to regenerate.

With that in mind, the level 77,000 great forest spirit was much more willing to tank all attacks of Aileen than Pedonar.

Aileen and Pedonar used that to their advantage as Aileen concocted a dragonic spell that would be much more harmful than Pedonar's death magic.

For that plan to be enacted, Aileen and Pedonar had to pretend that they were pissed off by the fact that the level 77,000 great forest spirit dodged the lethal attacks of Pedonar since that would make the level 77,000 great forest spirit thought that Aileen's attack would be way more harmless than Pedonar's attack.

Little did the level 77,000 great forest spirit knew, the level 77,000 great forest spirit was already dancing on top of Aileen and Pedonar's palms as their plan was in full motion.

The reason why I knew about Pedonar and Aileen's plan was simple. I am the genius of our school so I ought to at least have the intelligence to back it up.

Nothing could get away from this intelligent mind of mine and I'm even confident that a great sage wouldn't be able to hide a secret in front of me.

I'm not sure if Axel was much more intelligent than I am but I am sure that I am much wiser than Axel since Axel's mentality should be broken due to the problem that had happened in his past life.

Axel could memorize and analyze much more than me so maybe Axel was much more intelligent than I am.

Anyways, I'll find out about that sooner or later since Axel was bound to wake up.

It was only a matter of time that our group would obliterate all the high-level monsters and Axel would wake up in just a matter of time.

With that in mind, I might be able to accomplish the system mission sooner or later.
