The Epic of Leviathan (A Mutant's Ascension)

[Unknown Location, Tokyo] 

"So, when are we going to attack… I am seriously bored, we simply keep watching and watching… it is so boring!!" A beautiful young foreign woman with blonde hair and sky blue eyes practically whined and started to pout childishly.

The woman was wearing a gakuran for girls and she was also wearing armour on top of it. The woman's name was Jeanne and she was the only female member of the Hero Faction. She was also the possessor of Sacred Gear Blade Blacksmith. 

"Did you find anything about the second nine-tailed fox lurking around Yasaka" Cao Cao questioned in a disinterested tone and Jeanne looked really abashed after hearing the question. 

"Nobody knows anything about the woman. Some time ago, she appeared in Kyoto along with two other women. According to our agent, the other women were very strong. I can't find anything other than that" Jeanne said while fiddling with her fingers. 

"...I think we shouldn't make a move without gathering enough information" Georg said in a firm tone as he pushed up his glasses. 

"Hah!! What can they even do? From what I heard, the current leader of the Kyoto Youkai Faction isn't that strong!" A two-meters tall man with a well-built body and shoulder-length grey hair exclaimed in an arrogant tone.

The man had a cocky grin on his face. He was dressed in a Japanese School uniform and he was also wearing a set of Greek-inspired armour on top of his school uniform. The man's name is Heracles and he carried the spirit of the Greek mythological Hero, Heracles. 

"Don't be so quick to make a decision, it might be our undoing" a handsome young man with silver-white hair and red eyes said in a bland tone. Just like the Hero Faction, he was also wearing a school uniform and a priest's coat on top of it. The man had five swords hanging down his waist creating a sword skirt.

The man's name is Siegfried, he was created as a test-tube baby from multiple genetic patterns at the Sigurd Institution who were trying to create the 'True Descendant of Sigurd'. They wanted to create a human with the ability to wield the Demonic Sword Gram. 

Siegfried was also known as The Demonic Sword User and Chaos Edge Sieg because of his way of fighting. Siegfried possessed a Twice Critical Scared Gear, but instead of a gauntlet, it created a silver Dragon arm on his back doubling his power. 

His Twice Critical's sub-species Balance Breaker, which allows him to have four Dragon Arms growing out from his back, with his power doubling for each arm. As a result, Siegfried obtains 4 Dragons arms in addition to his real arms. This also gave him the ability to wield 6 swords at a time… making him extremely dangerous. 

After hearing Siegfried's words, Heracles growled in anger, but before he could say anything, Cao Cao decided to intervene. He simply gave Heracles a pointed look and Heracles snorted haughtily and looked away. 

"Jeanne, when is she leaving?" Cao Cao questioned with a thoughtful look on his face. 

"She is going to leave in three days for the meeting with the Leader of West Youkai Faction along with her daughter" Jeanne answered and Cao Cao rubbed his chin for a moment. 

"Then we attack in three days, from what we know, she is extremely protective of her daughter. If needed we can use her daughter to make her surrender herself" Cao Cao said in a firm tone and everyone inside the room nodded their heads in understanding. 

The youngest member of the Hero Faction who was yet to say anything till now also nodded his head in agreement. The youngest member was a short, dark-skinned young boy with grey-blue hair and purple eyes. Like the other members, he was also dressed in a Japanese School uniform with a long coat on top of it.

The boy's name is Leonardo and he is the wielder of one of the four strongest Longinus, Annihilation Maker. Leonardo was a very silent type of boy and most of the time, he simply had a blank look on his face. 

There was another member of the Hero Faction who was yet to say anything. He also nodded his head in understanding. He was a young man with black hair tied into a bun, he was also wearing a pair of shades. His attire consists of a black Japanese school uniform. The man's name was Connla.

Connla had inherited the spirit of the original Connla, the son of the Irish mythological hero Cú Chulainn. Connla also wielded the Sacred Gear, Night Reflection which gave him the ability to control shadows. These shadows can absorb attacks and redirect them in whatever direction the wielder wishes from any shadow within the Sacred Gear's area of influence. 

After that, the Hero Faction started to prepare for the attack… 

[Knox, Kuoh Forest] 

"What can you tell me about this?" Hela asked as she tossed the King Piece towards Momo. Momo easily caught the piece and looked at it intently for a moment. 

"So, this is the King Piece?" Momo questioned while staring at the contraption in her hand and Hela simply hummed in agreement. Grayfia dutifully stood behind Hela with a couple of files clutched in her hands. 

"Well, I need to see all the research before I can say anything" Momo said with a shrug. Yes, Hela had explained what the thing did, but Hela wasn't an expert and she had no idea how the damn thing worked. 

First of all, she needed to know how the Evil Pieces functioned and only after that she could start experimenting on the King Piece. Momo quickly noticed the file clutched in Grayfia's hands. 

"Give me those files" Momo said hurriedly, she was already in her scientist mode. Right now, Fleur and Jean weren't here… Momo had told the two of them about their new project, so the two of them had decided to get some snacks before they could start researching. 

Grayfia gracefully stepped forward and handed the files to Momo. Momo accepted the files with a grateful smile and started to look through the files. Hela simply stared at the scene with a blank look on her face as she knew that it was going to take a lot of time for Momo to finish reading those files. 

"I think I am going to leave you with your research" Hela said dryly and placed a small wooden box on the table in front of Momo. "A full set of Evil Pieces are in there" Hela added and Momo simply hummed. Hela practically rolled her eyes and decided to leave… 

Grayfia dutifully followed Hela out of the room without saying anything…

[Nekomata Settlement, East Youkai Territory] 

"The two of you seemed to have grown quite accustomed to our village" Magari said with a soft smile on her face and both Kuroka and Shirone nodded their heads with bright smiles on their faces. 

The two of them have grown quite accustomed to everyone in the village and the villagers. Both of them had been learning stuff quite rapidly since the past month. In the beginning, it was quite hard for Shirone due to her personality, but she was slowly breaking out of her shell and Kuroka was extremely happy due to that. 

The two of them have also grown quite close since they have started to train here. It has been a long time since Shirone had forgiven her sister for leaving her behind, but reconnecting with her sister was quite difficult. Right now, both of them have reached an understanding. 

"Yes, this place kind of grows on you" Kuroka said with a thoughtful look on her face as she tapped her chin with her finger. Shirone also nodded her head in agreement. 

"Have you changed your mind about staying here?" Magari asked in a hopeful tone and as soon as Kuroka heard the question, a complicated look appeared on her face. Shirone didn't have any opinions regarding this matter as she would happily abide by her sister's decision. 

"...You know I can't… it is not that I don't want to, but I have made a deal with the Destroyer for my sister's protection and I don't want to break the agreement" Kuroka said with a strained smile on her face. 

Magari gave Kuroka a sympathetic smile. "Well… our village will always accept you if you decide to change your mind" Magari said in a reassuring tone and she slowly walked away after bidding farewell to the sisters. 

Slowly the two sisters walked out of the village while walking casually. Neither of them said anything and kept walking side by side until they walked out of the village. Shirone tugged her sister's sleeve after they finally left the village premises. 

"Yes, Shirone?" Kuroka looked towards her younger sister and asked in a soft tone. 

"....Why did you lie to Magari?" Shirone asked while staring at Kuroka's eyes. Kuroka took a deep breath as this was going to be a long chat…
