Chapter 232: Second Phase Training!

Chapter 232: Second Phase Training!

After arranging for the students to continue their weighted running training at the training ground, Leng Jianfeng finally led the group of sixteen elites, including Li Bufan, around a cluster of buildings to reach a grand hall at the northern edge of the martial arts square.

"Here we are. Your training for the second phase will take place in this Tianwu Hall."

Within the Tianwei Academy, divided into five courts—east, south, west, north, and central—aside from the classrooms, library, and cafeteria, all facilities related to martial arts training were separate.

This division was also related to the competition among the five courts. After all, without knowing how hard their competitors were working, all each court could do was strive as hard as possible to avoid falling behind.

Leng Jianfeng led Ling Feng and the others into the Tianwu Hall, heading straight to a quiet room at the far left end.

Above the door of the quiet room hung a sign that read 'Gravity Room.'

The so-called training at the second phase was what the veterans referred to as gravity training.

Although the training content varied among the five courts, in general, they all aimed for the same goals: speed, strength, reflexes, physicality, and martial skills.

Weighted training at the first phase was merely the most basic form. Some people, despite their high cultivation level, couldn't easily complete the first phase training, which spoke volumes about their combat abilities.

"You little bastards. In the days to come, you'll wish you were dead!"

Leng Jianfeng grinned, glancing at the rows of weapon racks by the entrance of the Gravity Room. He said casually, "Go on, each of you pick a weapon. Feel free to grab more if you like. Whatever makes you happy."

"Yes!"

The students filed in, selecting their preferred weapons from the racks.

These weapons weren't particularly heavy, only weighing around one to two hundred pounds each. They seemed to be made of some kind of rock, appearing quite cumbersome and unsuitable for combat.

"Haha, I'll take this one!"

Wang Yishan, with his muscular physique, immediately took a liking to a pair of stone hammers. He grabbed one in each hand and swung them vigorously a few times while grinning. "These suit me best!"

Before long, all the students had chosen their weapons, mostly swords, with a few opting for knives. Of course, the most peculiar choice was Wang Yishan, who, with his massive frame, wielded a pair of double hammers that created a whirlwind around him when he swung them.

"Alright, everyone's ready. Let's go in together."

Leng Jianfeng glanced at the group, his lips curving slightly when he saw Wang Yishan. Leading them, he entered the Gravity Room.

The Gravity Room spanned roughly 800 square meters, and with just over a dozen people inside, it felt quite spacious.

Special crystal chandeliers adorned the walls of the Gravity Room, providing illumination and casting the entire hall in a soft light that was remarkably soothing.

"Instructor Leng, is this the Gravity Room? Doesn't seem particularly special," Wang Yishan couldn't help but ask.

"You'll see in a moment," Leng Jianfeng said, pursing his lips. "The Gravity Room is divided into three levels. The first level ranges from one to ten times gravity, the second level from ten to fifty times, and the third level from fifty to a hundred times."

"The area you're currently in is just the first level," Leng Jianfeng continued, pointing to the purple tiles on the ground. "These purple tiles signify a gravity array. Wang Yishan, since you seem sturdy enough, how about demonstrating for everyone?"

"Haha, no problem!"

Wang Yishan swung the stone hammers a few times and strode over to one of the purple tiles.

As soon as he stepped on it, a purple luminous barrier enveloped him.

"Wang Yishan, you can choose the gravity multiplier yourself. Just shout out the number." Leng Jianfeng raised an eyebrow, chuckling. "Once you activate the gravity array, all you have to do inside is swing your weapon. Swing however you like, but no slacking off!"

"Got it!" Wang Yishan's face lit up with a confident smile. "Ten tim–"

Bang!

Before he could finish speaking, there was a loud crash, and the sturdy man fell to the ground like a buffalo, unable to move a single finger.

"H-Help..."

Wang Yishan weakly shouted as some of his friends rushed forward, frantically trying to pull him out, but were blocked by the purple barrier, unable to enter.

"Hehe, now you know your limits." Leng Jianfeng then walked up to the purple tile where Wang Yishan was, with a smirk on his face. "Gravity training, cancel."

In the next moment, the purple barrier dispersed, and the gravity inside the tile returned to normal.

Huff... huff...

Wang Yishan gasped for breath, feeling like his bones were about to fall apart.

His sturdy physique saved him this time. Someone with a weaker physique might have been bedridden for a month.

"See that? Anyone who underestimates gravity training, this will be your fate!" Leng Jianfeng snorted, scolding. "Alright, each of you choose a gravity zone. Stick to normal gravity today. If I don't see you spending at least two hours inside, don't even think about coming out! Otherwise, hmph!"

Leng Jianfeng cast a menacing glance at the group, sending shivers down their spines.

There was nothing this ruthless guy wouldn't do!

"Yes, sir!"

The group nodded quickly, each finding a purple tile to stand on and selecting one time gravity.

"Hmm!" Leng Jianfeng glanced over and then turned to Ling Feng and Li Bufan, sneering. "You two, start at five times gravity. As for how high you want to go, it's up to you!"

Li Bufan, with his icy expression unchanged, replied disdainfully, "Ten times gravity!"

In an instant, the purple barrier rose, and the gravity, nearly distorting space, skyrocketed to ten times its normal intensity.

The stone sword weighing over a hundred pounds in Li Bufan's hand now felt like a thousand pounds. And due to its already heavy nature, it seemed as if it weighed two thousand pounds, making it extremely difficult to wield.

"Hmm!"

Li Bufan let out a grunt, but stood firmly in place, gripping the stone sword with both hands and starting his swinging training.

His gaze, provocatively, glanced at Ling Feng, seeming to ask: Hmph, what will you choose?

Ling Feng raised an eyebrow, stepped into the gravity zone, and without hesitation declared, "Ten times gravity!"

In an instant, an immense pressure nearly shattered every bone in Ling Feng's body. He quickly unlocked the first Primordial Lock, easing the pressure slightly, but still struggled to maintain his balance.

It was apparent that Li Bufan had undergone similar training before, but ten times gravity was likely a first for him.

Taking a deep breath, Ling Feng also grabbed the stone sword with both hands, adopted a stable stance, and began training with basic sword techniques: chopping, slashing, thrusting, cutting, and picking, gritting his teeth as he trained.

The surrounding students watched in astonishment.

Even normal gravity is extremely challenging for us, and these two freaks started off with ten times gravity!

Is it really necessary to push themselves this hard?

Seeing the two secretly competing, Leng Jianfeng couldn't help but smile. He raised his hand and examined his left palm, where the wounds had already scabbed over.

These were wounds caused by grabbing the blades of Ling Feng and Li Bufan when he stopped them from fighting.

Li Bufan had made his right arm tremble, while Ling Feng had broken through his protective augmented qi.

Leng Jianfeng couldn't help but sigh inwardly. "It seems like Ling Feng might have the upper hand! This kid might be more than just a hidden talent..."
