Chapter 134 Expensive Saintess
"Are you kidding me?"
Zayn stared blankly at the bill he received from Silas. The receptionist smiled apologetically at him.
"Well, you said that I should get the best healer…that's what I did."
"But...800 gold coins for waving her staff once and casting some incarnation…that's not normal!"
Zayn squinted his eyes and stared daggers at Silas, who could only sigh deeply.
"Your arm was twisted and broken, your energy channels were ripped apart from the massive amount of soul particles that spread through your body, your hands were frozen and burned at the same time and acid had corroded your skin and parts of your flesh. Basically, your entire body had to be reforged…and you're asking why you have to pay the Saintess of the Nature Goddess 800 gold coins for 'waving her staff once' and 'casting some incarnation'?
Be happy that she was interested in the Normie who defeated the Chimera, otherwise, her 'waving' her staff once would have cost you more than 500 gold thaler!"
Silas didn't like to recite how many injuries Zayn had sustained fighting for Merlin's sake, but it was a fact that the young Normie nearly died, from various injuries at that.
It was already a wonder that he had been able to find his way to the Adventurer Hall without problems.
Zayn clicked his tongue in annoyance. He didn't know the Saintess of the Nature Goddess, but she must be a popular woman if Silas and the old woman spoke about her in a formal and revering tone.
He only cared that she was going to take his money. That was pretty frustrating. His hard-earned money was drained even though he should have made a bigger profit from killing the Chimera.
"The Adventurer Hall already paid the bill. You can slowly pay off your debt. The interest ra–..." Silas explained, stopping in his tracks when the loud sound rang of tingling gold falling onto the counter rang out.
"There is no need for that. Just take it. 80 gold thaler in total."
Zayn had a total of 5380 gold thaler after he paid for the Adventurer Suite for a month. Deducting the 500 gold coins he paid for the Pikuar Salamander Cloak and the 4000 gold coins he gave Titan as the commission fee, he was now left with merely 80 gold coins.
That was not a small fortune, but it was a pretty big difference to have 880 gold coins, or only 80 gold coins.
800 gold coins were the value of a high-quality Artifact that could be used up to the Soul Lord rank!
'At least I have the Silvermoon Bracelet.' Zany thought with a heavy heart as he paid the bill.
His body was feeling great, but his heart felt a sting.
The storage capacity should be equivalent to a high-ranked Artifact worth more than ten thousand gold coins. At least that was what Zayn thought. It might even be more expensive.
This kind of reward invoked joy and happiness.
Thinking about the Silvermoon Bracelet, he looked at it and smiled lightly.
"Do you know how far Merlin is?" He asked Silas, who could only shrug his shoulders.
He was a little baffled that Zayn had actually 800 gold coins left in his pocket. After all, he heard from Titan that he had closed his shop for the whole month to finish the commissions Zayn had asked for. For Titan to close his shop, he must have taken a liking to Zayn and the gold he had paid.
This kid is really something, Silas thought.
"Shouldn't you be more worried about your own situation? The Colosseum is bankrupt, and Manager Tilan is currently on a run. The City Lord watched your battle and he noticed that the Chimera was not as severely injured as it ought to be.
After some research, he found out that Manager Tilan broke the agreement he made with the City Lord. Thus, the Colosseum was seized and Manager Tilan had all his assets and titles removed." Silas summarized in a few sentences before he gave Zayn a sincere warning.
"If I were Manager Tilan, I would probably wait until you leave the Adventurer Hall, follow you, and then kill you the moment you leave the city or enter a dark alley where no guards are positioned."
"That happened? Looks like I missed quite the show. How disappointing!" Zayn joked. He knew that Silas gave him a sincere warning because the receptionist was worried about him.
However, Zayn didn't really think that it was necessary for anyone to worry about him.
"Don't worry, I am strong enough to kill him!"
"That…is not exactly what I was talking about…" Silas retorted, squinting his eyes.
"He will have some accomplices who are mad at you for killing the Chimera. After all, they bet their whole fortune on the Chimera's victory. They still trust Manager Tilan even though he was the one who made them bet their fortune on the Chimera's win. As if that is not enough, there will be people after you. You have the Silvermoon Bracelet. Everyone will try to get their hands on it!"
Zayn nodded his head while continuing to stare into Silas' eyes.
"Is anyone of them stronger than Merlin? Single Combat, I mean." He asked, feeling extremely chill about the situation.
In fact, he was quite intrigued about the Blessed who were daring enough to fight him after he fought and won against the three-headed Chimera.
Did they lose their sanity, or did they have an actual plan to go up against them?
Would they try to fight him with their masses, sacrificing tons of Blessed to wear him out?
Zayn knew that his strength would increase considerably once his second Soulring would be filled to the brim and completed. It was not impossible that he could completely overpower the three-headed Chimera with the same combat prowess as the one he just fought once he finished the second Soulring.
And then there were a bunch of Spirits to fight by his side as well. They were already powerful and would become even stronger in the following two to three weeks which he would spend in Zerek, waiting for Blacksmith Titan to finish the Artifacts that would further increase his combat prowess.
Zayn had no reason to be afraid of anyone in Zerek.
"Stronger than Merlin? Definitely not. Manager Tilan will probably be the strongest," Silas answered, which caused Zayn to smile lightly.
"In that case, everything is chill."
