Chapter 235: Arrival (This is Chapter 236)

"Why are you guys here? Where's the ship?"

Leo walked over followed by Anthony, who looks especially tired compared to Leo who still looks as energetic as ever.

Alex and the other two soldiers quickly came before Leo with Alex in the front and hit their left chest twice with their fist before saluting.

"Boss!"

Leo saluted back, then looked at the people looking at him curiously from just outside the PELICAN, then turned his attention back to Alex and the rest.

"So what happened?"

Leo was really curious about what could make Alex actually retreat from a mission. After all, he knows full well the capabilities of this friend of his.

While Alex started giving his report to Leo, the people who they had brought with them are curiously discussing among themselves.

"Is that their boss? He doesn't look that special, and this island is their so called base of operations?" Merlin couldn't help but comment while looking at Leo without batting an eyelid.

Art, Min and the others rubbed their temples hearing his mumbling, as they know that this straightforward kid is the only one who had the guts to voice out his thoughts.

"This dumbas*, have you not been listening at all when Mr. Lin briefed us earlier? This island had just come under their jurisdiction, and it isn't their base of operations at all! It's in freaking Manchester, in the f*cking United Kingdom!"

Art explained with a face full of annoyance while clenching his fist as he really wanted to hit Merlin in the head, but held himself back as he doesn't want to leave a bad impression on the person who's going to be their leader soon.

"That's right, this place had just come under my control today so there isn't really anything here except for the wild"

Then they heard a laugh, and saw the supposed Boss of Alex and the rest walking over towards them, with Leo speaking to them with a teasing tone.

"Well, well. So this is them, huh? Austin and Min, step forward"

The smile on Leo's face quickly disappeared and was replaced by a stern and serious look on his face like a drill sergeant.

"State your abilities"

Min and Austin glanced at each other from the other corner of their eyes.

"Uhmm, m-my ability is lightning. It has the quirk of leaping through nearby targets around the primary one. It can strike three targets simultaneously"

"Sir! My ability is a swirling wind that looks like a storm you can see from a satellite, which can protect and attack at the same time"

Min stuttered as she couldn't help but get nervous and fidget around from the stare of Leo, while Austin tried to compose himself but couldn't hide the cold sweat on his back and his face that's already covered in sweat like he had just worked out for an hour.

It's understandable though, as Leo's face is kinda scary under the light of the full moon.

"I see, I'll deal with you later when the others are here" said Leo, then he turned around and faced Lin.

"Start unloading everything from the aircraft. Anthony, give them a hand and lead them at the cabin where they can place the things they had brought with them"

"Yes boss!"

Anthony then lead Lin and Carl inside the PELICAN, and the survivors who didn't know what to do, just followed after them in silence and started unloading the things inside, even the kids who were so noisy before they arrived here had grown silent as they didn't dare to act rudely in front of Leo as they're afraid that he'd think of them as a nuisance, so they just followed the others and helped them unload the goods inside.

Leo started walking along the beach, and Alex quickly followed after him.

"So, you're saying that there's another control type mutated zombie at Pearl Harbor, and there's a ship that's still operational but occupied by the remaining navy?"

Alex answered walked one step behind Leo and replied, "Yes, that's the reason why I decided to retreat with the rest of the group as I deemed it dangerous with our current firepower"

"What about the ship? What kind of ship was it?"

Leo stopped at a distance where no one will be able to eavesdrop on them except if it's a mutated human that can hear from distances.

"A destroyer sir, but I didn't dare to have the aircraft get close it when we're not sure if they'll open fire at us, and safest option would have been to wait for them to make contact to us first"

"I see"

Leo nodded in understanding when he listened to his explanation, as he probably would do the opposite if he was in his shoes and board the vessel like some kind of a pirate.

"Let's hope that the others who went to Manchester will arrive here tomorrow. I just didn't expect your group to actually return at the same day you guys left"

"I apologize sir"

"It's fine, it's not your fault to begin with"

Leo just waved his hand off as he really can't blame the man before him, as he's just that good in carrying his orders and this is the first time he actually failed which made Leo realized something that no matter how powerful and skilled Alex is, his ability to carry out his orders still limits him if he didn't have enough firepower and men with him.

"And those survivors you brought with you, I'll leave them to you., but only after they are inspected by Inspectors. We need to make sure they aren't carrying deadly diseases with them, and only will they be able to enter the base. If they do, then we can only leave them outside our walls, we can't risk the safety of thousands of people because of a few people"

"But I'm guessing you already know that they are safe, and that's why you brought them here with you or you would have left them there"

Leo chuckled, knowing that Alex wouldn't even hesitate to leave a child if he discovers that the child is a risk to their safety.

And at the same time, Alex is also like a doctor and moving x-ray machine. He might not have the skills of a doctor, but he'd sure be able to determine if a person is infected with a disease or not.

All thanks to him being an android.
