Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1198: Star Beast Invasion 2, Incoming!

Chapter 1198: Star Beast Invasion 2, Incoming!

Shang Xia naturally understood that the moment he gave the order to meet the Star Beast pack’s invasion, a good deal of cultivators would die because of his decision. However, he didn’t hesitate.

He was even ready for the You Continent to suffer huge losses and he didn’t bother to choose to work with the other great powers of the Spirit Luxuriant World.

Of course... He wouldn’t stop them if they wanted to join in the massive battle.

With more than 50 Star Ships of all sizes rushing out from the Spirit Luxuriant World, many of them started to fly behind those from the You Continent who had already traveled a good distance into the sea of stars.

However... Those Star Ships that gathered from all directions above the heavenly screen seemed a lot more disorderly than those from the You Continent despite far outnumbering them. They usually clustered in groups of 2 or 3, and they were far from organized.

On the 2 largest Star Ships sent out by the Tongyou Institution that had already traveled tens of thousands of miles away from the Spirit Luxuriant World before the other powers started to gather stood Ge Qingzhu and Sun Haiwei. They were the only fourth element Martial Dipper Realm experts of the Tongyou Institution, and they were discussing with each other through their divine wills.

“Why do you think he did it? Is it really to monopolize the benefits of the Star Beast pack?” Ge Qingzhu rarely butted into things that didn’t concern him in the institution. However, that didn’t mean that he was antisocial. He merely did his job without caring about much else.

He would spend his free time cultivating and many people wouldn’t be able to catch him in the institution.

Sun Haiwei, who stood on the other ship, gazed into the distance with milky white light filling her eyes.

She seemed to have trained in some sort of secret eye technique that allowed her to look at things that are extremely far away. Hearing his question, the glow slowly dispersed and she mumbled, “I’m sure there’s another reason we don’t know about. He has his considerations... You should know that he cares about the well-being of everyone the most. In the many wars our world had been through, he saved countless people... He even extended his mercy to mortals of other worlds... Why would he ask everyone to throw their lives away so easily?”

Ge Qingzhu shook his head and sighed in confusion, “That’s not what I was thinking of. I just feel... I feel that he’s in some sort of rush...”

Sun Haiwei shook her head, but she didn’t respond. She felt the same, but in recent years, her trust in Shang Xia had skyrocketed and she trusted his every decision.

Actually, Ge Qingzhu didn’t really question Shang Xia’s decision either. His sense of unease didn’t come from the upcoming battle against the Star Beasts. Instead, he was truly concerned about the reason behind Shang Xia’s attitude towards the entire matter.

Sun Haiwei seemed to have thought of something and she mumbled, “The patriarch hasn’t shown his face for some time now... Do you know what’s going on?”

“The deputy patriarchs said that he has been cultivating in the Elysium...” Ge Qingzhu was taken aback by her sudden question and mumbled a response.

All of them knew that it was merely a reason to fool the outside world. As core members of the institution, Ge Qingzhu and Sun Haiwei were clear that neither Shang Xia nor Kou Chongxue would remain in seclusion in the Tongyou Elysium for such a long time.

Sun Haiwei arranged her thoughts before speaking again. “Since the Star Origin Dao Field revealed itself again, Tong Yutang took over the position of Star Origin Guards Commander. The change probably happened around then... Patriarch Kou brought a batch of Formation Masters back from Star Origin City and immediately started hiding his tracks. He seems to be plotting something. However... You know that the places where those people are kept aren’t places we have the authority to enter in the Elysium.”

“Shang... Hall Master Shang might have returned a little later than the patriarch, but he also entered seclusion before long. Not many people had a chance to see him.” Sun Haiwei concluded.

“What are you talking about?” A narrower Star Ship suddenly caught up to them as a figure emerged to stand on the bow.

Sun Haiwei and Ge Qingzhu were shocked by his sudden arrival, but they quickly composed themselves before greeting the newcomer respectfully.

“Deputy Patriarch Shang!”

“Chief Instructor!”

Shang Bo had been in seclusion in recent years and he barely meddled in matters regarding the institution. Not many people interacted with him either. Of the students of the 3 Training Divisions, practically no one had seen the reclusive Deputy Patriarch Shang even though he was in charge of their Divisions.

There wasn’t a need to mention ordinary students as even Ge Qingzhu and Sun Haiwei rarely saw him.

Now that he made a sudden appearance, they were clearly surprised by his arrival.

“Elder Shang, why did you finally leave seclusion this time?” Ge Qingzhu asked with a soft chuckle.

Compared to Sun Haiwei, Ge Qingzhu was older and was a lot more experienced. When he was still a student, Shang Bo was still personally teaching classes. He could even address Shang Bo as ‘Teacher Shang’ if he wanted to.

Shang Bo didn’t look much older than before, but there was an unmistakable aged light that remained in his eyes.

When Ge Qingzhu asked the question, he noticed that even though Shang Bo exuded a profound aura, he hadn’t refined his fourth fate dipper and was still a third element Martial Dipper Realm expert.

Shang Bo raised his head and narrowed his eyes as he looked into the distance. “I failed to find an opportunity to refine my fourth fate dipper after being in seclusion for so long. I decided to head out here to catch a breather and to see if I can meet with any fortuitous encounters...”

Ge Qingzhu and Sun Haiwei exchanged a glance and neither knew what to say for a moment.

Seemingly able to guess their thoughts, Shang Bo chuckled, “There’s no need to think too deeply into this. I came out to gain some experience and you guys have the authority to make the decision on everything that happens next. You don’t need to intentionally take care of me either! I’ve been in seclusion for so long and I don’t know too much about what has happened. I came out here to ask you guys for an update, nothing more!”

Sun Haiwei thought for a second before telling Shang Bo about the guesses they made earlier and everything that happened.

After listening to them quietly for some time, Shang Bo seemed to turn a lot more serious despite his expression remaining as calm as before. “From the looks of it, something serious happened and it seems to have the ability to affect the various worlds... Only True Immortals should be privy to the details...”

“Since that’s the case, he definitely has his reasons for ordering the institution to take on the brunt of the Star Beast invasion without waiting for the others!” Shang Bo turned to stare at a certain spot in the void and growled, “Let’s prepare to face the Star Beast pack first. I’ll look for him after the battle and see if he reveals anything...”

Sun Haiwei noticed something as a frown appeared on her face. She glanced at the void in the distance as her eyes started to glow with milky white light again.

The next second, she gasped in shock, “Huh?! Those... Those rank six Star Beast... They were blasted away!”
