Chapter 131: Battle of the Ages(5) - Celestial
Far away from the massive battle that was still ongoing, a group of individuals conversed with one another as they watched the battle, "What do we do?"
They were part of Cheyenne's scout group and had wanted to assist her before, but the scale of her battle was far beyond what they could endure.
"I doubt we can do anything," said another.
One of the females among them muttered, "But if we do not do anything, things might get bloody. I think we should report this to the king before it gets out of control."
"Ok. Kejay, you know what to do," instructed the deputy leader of the group.
After Cheyenne, Kejay was the fastest person among them. By ordering him to be the one to pass the message, it was the most efficient choice.
Kejay nodded at the leader and simply ran to their base camp, where the king and the rest were.
*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*
After he left, the group focused on Jake and Cheyenne's clashes. They failed to remember how many times they had changed location due to the battle.
However, what they knew was that this was the peak battle of the Aztec younger generations, and while they wanted to stop it, they yearned to see the victor of the battle.
So, like true spectators, they watched diligently. Analyzing each of the two opponents' moves.
Ultimately, their eyes widened to the point where the whites could be seen vividly when they saw the reveal of Jake's [Limitless Slash].
They knew it was all over....
...
Jake curled his lips as he saw his attack inch closer to Cheyenne.
That one slash of violent energies was the result of everything he had learned from the [Sword Drawing Technique].
Now, he was qualified to make his own section in the [Sword Drawing Book], joining the leagues of the extra-ordinarily talented that had contributed to the book.
It was definitely something to be proud of.
Such feeling gave way to a smile that was foiled when Jake witnessed the next course of events!
As soon as his slash reached Cheyenne, it cut deep in her skin but was stopped by something unknown.
Not long after, the attack couldn't achieve its goal which led to it exploding, blasting away everything, including Jake, who went through multiple trees.
A few seconds later, Jake softly fell from a tree that managed to absorb his impact.
He sighed as he got up, 'What a sad life?'
Jake proceeded to put his bones back in place and ran back to the location of the blast.
However, he wished he hadn't.
The moment he got there, Jake was blinded by a sharp light that came from a direction in front of him.
After his eyes adjusted to the light, Jake saw a figure which resembled Cheyenne but was more beautiful than her.
With a height taller than the average man, she had fair skin that gleamed with a golden hue and white-golden eyes, showing the purest of colors Jake had ever seen.
However, what got his attention was the golden feather wings that protruded out of her back and the large golden halo hovering above her head.
All in all, this figure, which Jake figured out was probably Cheyenne exuded an excessive amount of divinity.
Just by looking at her, Jake could feel his heart beating too fast. He could perceive a sense of suffocation in him like something was about to pierce out of his body, but it couldn't.
Once again, Jake ignored this ominous feeling and focused on the task at hand.
He concentrated on his [Akashic Eye] to seek a better understanding of the figure before him.
Suddenly, his view changed to a cleared one, where everything he concentrated on became magnified, even without concentrating, the things of importance glowed in his face.
Focusing on Cheyenne, Jake zoomed his view into her.
To his surprise, she was fully covered in a golden glow, prohibiting him from getting a true sight.
Jake forced himself to look through the golden glow and received a sharp pain that pierced his eye.
"Ahhh!" Jake screamed as he fell down.
Just by looking, his eyes got burnt to the point of blood flowing out of it. Clutching it, he received the same amount of pain as it was the most intimate part of his body.
The sensation was as if countless needless stabbed directly into his eye. Not just that, it felt like after stabbing his eye, the needles malevolently stirred around it, bringing a constant pain to Jake.
Now, he had damaged it, just by glancing. His [Akashic Eye] dimmed as it went to a temporary stasis, while Jake took the full brunt of the pain.
As he knelt on the cold ground, Cheyenne flew over to him and pointed her spear at him.
"FORFEIT," demanded Cheyenne in an irregular voice, carrying an ancient tone, that had enough weight to increase Jake's pain.
With his bloody eye, Jake looked at her and decided to plan one last course of action.
He had become annoyed and something in him controlled him as he spoke in an unknown language, producing the same feeling that Cheyenne's word exuded, "CELESTIAL!"
Although he spoke in an unknown language, it was evident that Cheyenne understood it.
His voice was filled with boundless contempt as he looked at her. His instincts took over him!
Suddenly, he found himself jumping at her to produce a final attack. However, he was stopped by his own body as he fell flat on the ground, losing his consciousness in the process.
Watching him blackout, Cheyenne sighed as a wave of tiredness swept over her.
She couldn't process what had happened to her and was not even aware of it until she looked at herself through the broken pieces of ice.
"Is this. Me? Who am.I? What.am I?" she thought out loud but her sentences became sloppy.
Her eye blinked slowly as she was about to lose her balance.
However, before she did that, Cheyenne sensed someone coming her way.
She turned around and saw her father.
Sighing, she smiled at him as she coughed out a large amount of blood.
Before her father could reach her, Cheyenne uttered her last words, "He can speak...[Nether municate with the phantom..find mother."
Following her last words, she could not endure anymore and fell like Jake, also losing her consciousness.
Her father wryly smiled as he looked at the mess his daughter left him.
