Chapter 212 Do You Still Remember Me?
Lu Chen looked up to stare at the person standing next to him in shock.
This was someone whom he had been familiar with for most parts of his life and yet, at the moment, he didn't recognize him at all.
The Su Yan he knew would never be this cruel to anyone let alone to his best friend, him. Seeing the chaotic situation around them and this new problem, his head throbbed.
Why was Su Yan behaving so differently?
Lu Chen sighed and paid attention to the condition of the wolf that rested on his lap. She was getting better every second.
Only after seeing this, he was able to think clearly. He took a second to breathe in and breathe out and as he did, he immediately realized the crux of the problem.
Su Yan was behaving differently!
This could only mean that he had lost his memory?
He turned around and quickly looked at his friend again. "You don't recognize little white. That's fine. She has changed a lot since you both met the last time. But do you still remember me?"
Lu Chen's body trembled as he spoke these words. He was almost dreading hearing the answer, but unfortunately, without knowing the root cause of the issue, there could never be a solution.
So he had to hear this answer, no matter how painful it could possibly be.
"Hmmm? Answer me. Do you still remember me?"
A cold glint flashed across Lu Chen's eyes as he saw that his dear friend whom he had sorely missed all this time was looking back at him with a visible smirk.
It was as if he was thinking about his answer, measuring his risks, and deciding what to say and what not to say. Clearly, he didn't trust him at all and that could only mean one thing.
This friend of his is indeed suffering from some sort of memory loss!
Lu Chen sighed in relief as he saw that Qin Hua was breathing a lot better now and her wounds had also healed, the wolf fully recovering.
She was awake now and she as well stared at Su Yan silently wondering what just happened, still continuing to lie down on his lap.
"He lost his memory, I think." Lu Chen explained, which made both the wolf and the human widen their eyes.
"Hey! Don't go making up stuff! Who said that I lost my memories? I am still your friend!" Su Yan blurted out, looking a little rattled, but he tried to hide it.
"Oh? Is that so? Then what is my name?"
Lu Chen's first question itself left him stumped and he was unable to think of a way out of the situation. "I mean I just seem to have forgotten some things, but I still remember most things."
"Heh. Then can you tell me what happened to you? Or wait. Anything would do. Just tell me anything that you remember."
Su Yan remained still not answering. His eyes were sternly fixated on the man and the wolf in front of him.
"Why are you thinking so much? Do you think that we would harm you or something? Do you even know what we had to go through to make sure you were safe all this time?"<br/><script>ChapterMid();</script>
Lu Chen shook his head. "Are you alright?" He ignored the ungrateful bastard and asked Qin Hua.
She bobbed her head dazedly and quickly jumped back to stand after seeing that she was lying down on someone's lap when the fight around them had still not ended fully.
She threw another glance at Su Yan and then sprinted away barking loudly. He was safe and that was all that mattered.
As for memory loss and things like that, she could always use the healing potion or maybe Coco's skills and that can wait.
First and foremost they had to deal with the dangerous situation they were in currently!
Lu Chen watched the black figure blur and attack whatever chimeras still lingered around.
"Do you see that? Don't attack her again. She is our friend. Our pet. Our dog. She loves us. Do you get it?"
Su Yan nodded silently. He didn't say anything.
Seeing the person silent and indifferent made him kind of angry.
"You seem to be strong. So why don't you fight the chimeras? When things settle down, we can all sit together and have a chat."
"Well… that is if you trust me… if you don't feel free to do whatever you want. It's not like I can stop you." Lu Chen rubbed his temples and also walked into the fray just like Qin Hua.
Su Yan still remained calm and silent. He didn't act rashly and observed the surroundings first. He really had forgotten everything.
As far as he was concerned, he was right now only surrounded by strangers in a strange land. A situation like that might have frustrated and driven a person crazy with fear.
However, he was calm and steady like still water. The bloodshed and uncertainty around him did not make him waver at all.
Why?
Because deep down, he had a feeling that nothing around him right now could possibly harm him. A sort of innate pride!
It was an inexplicable feeling that was firm and unshakeable. If he wanted he could kill everything around him and it would only take him an instant! He just knew it!
"Hmmm… Why don't I stretch my limbs a bit? Heh. And then I can chat with my friend…"
He looked around and saw a woman fighting with a monster. He didn't know what creature it was but it seemed to be powerful.
"Move away. I will take it from here."
The woman looked stunned and did not react in time, but Su Yan did not wait for her and was already in battle mode.
Gura! He let out a loud grunt and metallic scales covered his body from head to toe. They had a crimson luster just like his eyes that were bright crimson.
