Chapter 374 - Confidential

Chapter 374: Confidential

After exiting the heavenly wheel, Lu Mingshu was in high spirits.

She hoped that the winter-summer stone could heal her master’s meridians, and she had been looking for methods all over the heavenly wheel. Since it was rare, it is difficult for her to even get a prescription.

Now she finally found the prescription, and it was good even if she had to look for the ingredients herself.

Lu Mingshu opened the door to the study to see Liu Jizhen speaking to little boo.

Liu Jizhen asked slowly, and little boo answered all he asked clearly with his robotic voice. And now, they were chatting happily. Lu Mingshu could not help but smile fondly at the scene.

Before she could tell her master about what happened during the six years, Liu Jizhen urged her to rest. So Lu Mingshu decided to let little boo explain everything to her master. She told him what to say and what to keep a secret.

As for her traveling to another world, it was impossible to keep it a total secret, but little boo can hint at him and skip the part on the heavenly wheel.

“Master.”

Seeing her come over, Liu Jizhen smiled and pointed at little boo. “Your bronze man is interesting. It’s not a living thing, but it acts like a human!”

Lu Mingshu smiled, revealing her dimples. “A void realm elder created it, of course, it’s good.” She bent down and petted little boo. “Okay, you can go and have fun now.”

The light acting as little boo’s eyes flashed, and little boo started to walk out. “Okay, master.”

It then waddled out quickly, and when it reached the doorstep that was too high for it, it jumped over.

Lu Mingshu and her master chatted for a while. Liu Jizhen then looked at her sternly. “Mingshu, I need to talk to you about something.”

“Deity’s festive?” Lu Mingshu guessed.

“Smart.” Liu Jizhen chuckled.

“From what I heard from you and senior uncle An, it must be an important event, so the master would want to tell me more since you didn’t have the chance yesterday.”

“Indeed, an important event.” Liu Jizhen paused before continuing. “Do you know how the nine jade palaces were established?”

“Yeah.” Lu Mingshu nodded. “Martial grandfather Song found remnants of a deity and managed to comprehend the Goddess Cloud-treading Swordsmanship and formed the nine jaded palaces.”

“Yes, but there are some secrets behind this.”

“Secrets?” Lu Mingshu furrowed her eyebrows. “Is the story of the deity coming to mortality fake?”

“Nope.” Liu Jizhen shook his head, “Martial grandfather Song did indeed find traces of a diety, but it was not as how others perceived it. The nine jade palaces use the <Goddess Cloud-treading Swordsmanship> as our foundation, but do you realize that we have many different lines?”

Lu Mingshu shook her head. The nine jade palaces had fewer than a thousand disciples, yet they were branched out into more than twenty lines. About sixty to seventy disciples would belong to one line, and only seven or eight for the smaller ones. They all practiced the Goddess Cloud-treading Swordsmanship, but there was actually a difference in what each line was learning. It was a rare scene for a sect to have so many subdivisions in ancient china.

“Is this related to the deity’s remnants?”

Liu Jizhen did not answer her question, but he continued instead. “And the so-called remnants still exist today. It’s the Nine Jade Palace’s top secret. Only successor disciples or anyone more important than a successor disciple knows about this. As for what the remnants are exactly, one would have to break through first before they are allowed to know.”

“That’s quite strict.”

“This is a rule in the Nine Jade Palace.” Liu Jizhen looked at her sternly. “A secret that we will bring to our graves, no matter what.”

“So what is it actually?” This makes Lu Mingshu even curious.

“A special boundary.” Liu Jizhen whispered.

“Boundary? “~A spell formation, or a special space?~

“Remember the legend of JiuLu province?”

“Uh.” Lu Mingshu nodded. “Xichuan was run being ravaged by a ferocious beast, and thanks to the deity which turned into the Nine Jade mountain, Xichuan then gained peace and harmony.”

Liu Jizhen smiled thinly and nodded. “Not bad. The legend says that nothing remains from the beast’s attack, but it was just a small part of the truth. The mountain was created by the deity indeed, but not because she saw that the mortals are in distress.”

“Then?”

Liu Jizhen stared at the smoke rising in spirals from the censer. He smiled bitterly and shook his head. “The deity was being plotted against and was in a serious situation.”

Lu Mingshu took a few minutes to take in the information before looking up at her master in shock. “The Nine Jade Mountain was formed because of a battle between mankind and the deity? How strong were they?”

The majestic Nine Jade mountain could be seen from the mountain range in the distance. It was not an easy job to make such a majestic mountain. An assimilation realm fighter could form a mountain, and as for a void realm....Lu Mingshu had never seen a void realm elder fight, but she knew they couldn’t do such things from the books.

“I have the same doubts as you as well.” Liu Jizhen chuckled. “But unfortunately, I couldn’t find an answer to this, and nobody else could. It seems like there wasn’t any martial artist in our world, even during mankind’s era.”

Lu Mingshu’s breathing turned rapid. From books and historical records, the era where deities descended to the mortal world was before mankind. This meant that before mankind, there existed things that had extremely high cultivation? Where did they disappear to?

“After that fight, some traces remain, and inside the boundary, it will replay the battle again after some time.”

“Oh my.....” Lu Mingshu muttered. She used to think that they found the deity’s book about her swordsmanship. “So the Nine Jade palace is divided into different lines because disciples deciphered the swordsmanship differently?”

Liu Jizhen looked at her in shock. He didn’t expect her to absorb the information so quickly. It sounded strange to most people, but not to Lu Mingshu, who had heard about similar cases in other worlds from the heavenly wheel. Just that Liu Jizhen wasn’t aware of that.

“Yes, it was a cruel battle, and the image left behind is quite damaged, so it isn’t clear. The creator of each line is an elite of each generation, and each of them comprehended the swordsmanship differently, so they divided into a different line.”

“So the deity’s festival is about sending candidates in to watch the image?” Lu Mingshu immediately understood.

“Yes.”

“Senior uncle An said that I will need to fight for the spot. How many spots are there?”

“Five. Assimilation realm elders need not fight.”

“So there are only two spots.” Lu Mingshu pouted.

“No.” Liu Jizhen shook his head. “Grand elder Yuan Xi’s time is coming up, so she will not be joining this time around. Your martial granduncle Zhou is injured too, so he won’t be joining either.”
