Paragon of Death

Chapter 187

187 Chapter 186: A year later

A year has passed since the six hosts supposedly entered the center of the world to claim their inheritance. During this time, the power dynamics of the world had already changed. Just a month ago the first fleet of the invaders had touched down at the edges of the central continent and the Chaos began.

From conquering small villages, razing, and looting, to building defensive structures and more strange structures. Countless skirmishes have taken place as a means of gauging each other’s strength.

..... Blood Mountain.....

“What the hell is this?” Blink muttered as he gazed at the massive map with figurine representatives of the various forces in the continent. Since the arrival of the invaders, the blood mountain has been bombarded day and night by various forces of various races. Thanks to the four true bloods, the undying army, and Blink they have been holding out for a whole month.

“The goblins south of here are useless against our undead army. Their powers and poisonous weapons are useless. But we are too occupied with the others to focus on that point.” Klien said with a frown.

Since Damon left, he has been looking for ways to prove himself and fortunately, Blink didn’t share the same sentiment as the others. He pulled him and Lucy into his forces and treated them like subordinates.

They were both like his right and left hands now he had no one to rely on.

“I can lead the attack on the goblins, with the help of Brandon Bloodhammer as my aid. Breaking through the goblin army we can circle around the enemy and hit them from behind, breaking their formation” Lucy proposed and Klien frowned but did not speak against it.

He knew apart from Lucy who is immune to poison and the undead army, no one else can take on the goblins head on. He didn’t want her to do something this dangerous but she knew they needed her to do it.

.....

“Damn it!” Blink muttered with a frown.

His eyes seemed to scan the battlefield and after some moments of silence, he finally looked up.

“Very well. But Klien will accompany you as well. The rest of us will stand at the front lines and distract the enemy for as long as possible” Blink said with a deep frown before turning to meet Lucy’s gaze.

“You have 30 mins. That’s all we can give” Blink said those words in a low tone but everyone could hear him clearly.

“And the God of sword?” Cassius asked with a frown.

The four great God hosts of the invaders were not to be forgotten or ignored. The God of Sword was the one in charge of this entire operation. He was the one leading the way for various races.

“I will deal with the God of sword. I will like to see how he dares get past me” Blink snorted disdainfully as he flicked his wrist, causing his robes to flap.

Everyone seemed slightly worried but no one voiced their worries. While Blink has proven to be reliable when it comes to things like this.

Bang!

The entire world seemed to tremble as loud explosions seemed to erupt at the same time. Various colors of light shot into the sky and hit it up fiercely.

The hosts have awakened!

Seeing this one would think Blink would be happy but a deep frown spread across his face. This meant the God of death would be returning here and the enemy would launch an all out attack now they are running out of time.

“Everyone take your positions, scrap the plan, and focus on defense!” Blink ordered as he turned and vanished in a silver light, leaving everyone behind.

“He is just like Damon, he works better alone” Cassius let out a bitter smile before turning into a blood mist and shooting out through the windows.

............

Xiu!

Blink appeared above the city walls with his hand cupped and hidden within his sleeves. In the past one year, he had grown far more than expected and he suspected it was due to the death aura fusing with his genes as time went on. Slowly, he was becoming something far more terrifying than what he had thought he would be. He could feel his sanity being invaded by the darkness but as a youth, with strong dreams and beliefs, he refused to be consumed by his power.

He gazed down at the army currently clashing with the undead army in a fierce battle but his eyes were pinned on the war weapons on the side of the goblin forces.

Bang!

Block saw a massive body surging with a poisonous green aura getting launched at the walls. His hands clasped together as a massive silver formation appeared in front of the walls causing the boulder to just sink in.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

“Fire!” A cold voice muttered amongst the large army, catching Blink’s attention. It was a figure dressed in blue Samurai armor with over five swords hung around his waists.

“Hmph!” The God of Sword host snorted disdainfully as he noticed Blink’s eyes pinned on him. He revealed an amused smile as his hands reached for their air and he suddenly made a taunting gesture as if to say he was asking Blink to attack.

“Bastard!” Blink’s eyes narrowed as he clasped his hands together and performed strange hand seals causing numerous silver magic arrays to appear all over the walls, swallowing the attacks thrown at them.

Hmph!

Blink punched forward and spatial cracks spread across the space ahead of him! From there the numerous balls of fire shot into the air, shooting back at those who sent it in the first place!

“Until I meet that person, I cannot afford to lose to anyone ever again!” Blink muttered with bright silver eyes as the image of Dillian appeared in his head.

Darkness began spreading across his body from the gem on his chest while his hands swiftly pulled out the daggers hidden within his sleeves as he strode forward!
