Paragon of Death

Chapter 163

163 Chapter 162: Falling for the trap!

Wavelength of Madness?

Everyone was confused but the more they watched what was happening below, they soon began to understand and deep fear spread through their heart. Blink remained unmoving as the corruption at the center of his chest began spreading across his body, tainting it with the power of death. Darkish green spots could be found at all spots of his body and what was more disturbing was that it didn’t stop there. It’s spread all the way to his neck and face. Visible black cracks appeared all over his face from his eyes but even then Blink remained calm and collected.

“What the hell have you created, Damon?”Cassius shivered in fear as he watched Blink’s transformation.

Meanwhile, within the cave, the goblins kept racing forward disregarding the traps and array formations set up by them. Explosions and painful cries filled the cave as many were slaughtered even before they could reach Blink.

Rumble!

Rumble!

Rumble!

The ground trembled as they finally surfaced and the remnants could be seen racing towards Blink with insane killing intent in their eyes. Seeing this Blink gripped his dagger and a cruel smile spread across his face as he threw his hands open as if he was waiting for a loved one to hug him.

Xiu!

.....

Following a silver flash, Blink vanished and with his weapon leaving behind silver trails the entire battlefield was filled with silver trails as he pushed forward and decapitated enemies in large numbers. Each strike was aimed to kill and he never had to attack a person twice!

Bang!

Blink has just decapitated another foe but then his eyes narrowed as he felt the threat of death looming over him!

Bang!

With two jumps back, he had successfully evaded two attacks aimed at the spots he just left a while ago!

“This!” Blink muttered with a frown as he gazed at the massive goblin warlord wearing rusted armor with a rusted iron club in his hands.

Shhhhiiiiii!

“Do you think I’m scared of you because I choose to retreat?” Blink muttered coldly as he switched his grip on the Silver dagger and dashed forward, leaving only a silver trail behind!

Haaaa!

Blink cried out as he swung forward fearlessly when facing the dagger swung at him!

Boom!

A shockwave exploded from their weapons as the club fell on the silver dagger, causing Blink’s leg to sink into the ground but that was all. The cruel smile on his face widened and the eyes of the goblin warlord narrowed.

How can a feeble human this small challenge him in a game of strength?

Its eyes shifted to the mutated Blink and a hint of fear could be seen in its eyes. But the wavelength of Madness had a strong grip over it, preventing it from thinking properly.

All it wanted to do now is kill the source of this power!

Swoosh!

It raise its weapon and struck and again but this time, Blink rolled to the side before leaping forward with his dagger stabbing into the thigh of the enemy

Roar!

The goblin warlord screamed in pain and reached for Blink but he was too fast. With the dagger lodged into the orc goblin’s thigh, Blink raced around the goblin warlord, dragging the dagger along with him!

Plush!

Blood poured out of the wound and the mighty beats fell on one knee with its eyes slightly widened due to shock. It watched in shock while holding its bleeding wound as Blink casually walked towards it with his dagger in his hands.

Around them were the other goblins fighting amongst each other fiercely. There was no one here to save it thanks to the wavelength of Madness.

“The wavelength of Madness sends everyone into a berserk state. But you were able to pinpoint the source and try to kill me. The effect on you is far less than what the others are experiencing. Is it because you are resistant to it or am I just weak?” Blink muttered thoughtfully as he approached the goblin warlord.

“This is my master’s power. There is no way the problem can come from it. The problem is probably me. My current cultivation level is too low for me to manifest the full potential of my master’s power” Blink concluded with a frown.

In the end, even with Damon’s help the thing limiting him is still him. One thing he knew was that in terms of mastering the fighting skills and techniques of fighters, Damon cannot compare to him but everywhere else he was completely useless.

“Sighs... until my cultivation defect is dealt with, I won’t be able to grow properly. I hope my master and his friends succeed or I will be forced to look for another way around this” Blink muttered.

Thanks to the cultivation defect his body is unable to accumulate energy, preventing him from upgrading his cultivation base for a while now.

He snapped out of his thoughts as someone’s shadow completely overwhelmed him!

Snap!

The supposedly defeated goblin warlord snatched at him but Blink was able to leap back just in time before the hand could reach him!

Huh?

Blink’s eyes narrowed as he felt something hot surging towards him from behind and he vanished, reappearing at another corner of the room with a cruel smile on his face.

His eyes were pinned on the figure trying to blend in with the chaos around. The only goblin with a skull mask and different colored feathers littered around.

A Goblin shaman!

Blink’s eyes narrowed as he raced forward with the dagger twirling between his hand fiercely It let out a bright light!

Xiu!

The silver-spinning danger shattered everything in its path as it kept teleporting from one spot to another so rapidly that it ran through the fighting goblins, leaving behind only chunks of flesh and limbs.

Kill!

Blink growled and pushed forward as the silver dagger began spinning toward the goblin warlord and goblin shaman.

The goblin warlord grimaced but then the goblin shaman stepped forward with a fierce light in his eyes.

Pa!

It clasped its hands together and a light reddish energy surged from its body, forming a barrier around it and the goblin warlord!

“Hmph! Stupid!” Blink sneered as he jumped to his feet and white ripples exploded from his body.

Xiu!

Xiu!

Xiu!

With their silver flashes, the dagger teleported into the barriers and with one swoop it decapitated the goblin warlord and the goblin shaman.

Huff!

Blink exhaled heavily as a deep sense of fatigue gripped him.

“Damn it... it’s little?” Blink muttered as he felt devastated.

His mana reserves were lacking, also greatly limiting his potential. Adding to this with the defection, even if he recovered his natural talent would still be far lacking compared to that of the death mage.

“We will find a way around that when the time comes” Blink muttered with a slight frown.

.............

Damon and his team finally emerged from the narrow tunnel. They found themselves on top of what could be considered a mountain and below it was some sort of maze through which they could reach the end point.

Damon looked up and in the black sky were countless blood red eyes pinned on him and a cruel smile bloomed on his face.

“There is a reason why I can’t fly here. This reason I can’t explain” Damon said coldly as he felt the natural laws of this world working against us.

Only after standing at a spot and thinking over this thoroughly did Damon realize what he missed. He has been agitated and forced to chase the enemy just to make sure he doesn’t notice the changes in power and laws.

They were expected to face the enemies in a world suppressing their strength!

“We need to leave here!” Damon said coldly as he quickly turned.

Rumble!

From the exit which they just came out from loud sand could be heard as a sea of sand washed toward them.

“Who dares to keep me here!” Damon bellowed as his darkish green energy washed forward, clashing with the huge body of sand!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Before others could even help Damon, he was already overwhelmed by the sand and pushed off the mountain alongside his team. His eyes remained calm as he struggled with the force of nature in silence!

“You!” Damon growled in fury as he gathered his strength and countless magic arrays began appearing around him but then a chain binding him appeared in vision.

Blegh!

Damon spat out a mouthful of blood as the power he had been gathering shattered and crumbled in an instant!

Boom!

The massive body of sand smashed into him, dragging him down the mountain without hesitation.

Damon!

.....

Everyone cried out in shock since they never expected such an outcome. The suppression this location created is too immense. It’s not something just anyone can deal with easily. If even someone like Damon was overwhelmed by it, what can they do?

At this moment, everyone present realized they have fallen for a serious trap.
