Paragon of Death

Chapter 146

146 Chapter 145: Dual pathways of the sun deity host!

Splash!

Blood poured as the two halves of the sun god fell from the skies and hit the ground like a piece of rag. The son of heaven and every other person there were stunned by what they could consider the quickest death of a spirit realm expert in history. No one would have predicted this end and even if they did, no one would have expected it to happen so soon.

They gazed at Gin’s levitating figure with fear in their eyes but Gin paid them no attention. He quickly moved back to support Cyrus whose energy was in turmoil but when he stretched out his hands to hold his friend, Cyrus pushed him away with a pale look on his face.

“He is not dead yet!” Cyrus’ eyes squinted as he gazed at the corpse below.

His words sounded dumb and unreasonable but everyone instinctively turned their gaze to the figure on the ground and frowned.

“Ouch... that hurts you worthless piece of shit!” Kaido said with an unusual calmness in his voice.

Slip!

His body was quickly consumed by fierce flames as if burnt into pieces and the next moment the two flames joined and from it, Kaido emerged.

He was completely healed.

.....

“Phoenix God pathway: Undying” Kaido yawned those words with a cocky look on his face.

His words seemed insignificant but they carried enough pressure to make the leaders of the various races frown.

.............

“Is that even possible?” The Elven queen gasped in shock as she never expected to see this but Diana and Crystal only sighed and nodded their heads.

“Why do you think the sun god is the most terrifying of all the cosmic spirits?” Crystal asked with a weird look as if she was staying the obvious.

“It’s more than the Sun God. Kaido is a host with so much combat talent...There is a reason he is the leader of the three star alliance... Unless Crystal and I join hands, we can never win against him” Diana responded with a frown on her face. It felt as if this fact was troubling her as well.

Great general Isabella was stunned by this and looked at the moon and Stars cosmic spirit hosts with a confused look on her face.

“But he was defeated in his last encounter with these three, what’s the difference now?” Isabella was confused.

“The sun... it was a night back then but it’s day now... right now, it would be difficult if not impossible to defeat him!” Elsa Leaf said with a deep frown on her face as she looked at the figure standing with a cocky smile as if he owned the world.

Her gaze shifted to the blood mountain surrounded by dark clouds and a red Moon of its own. She could feel something was going on behind the scenes but she couldn’t really explain what.

............

“Now, let’s get serious... I will show you the true power of the one pathway!” Kaido said as his body which was once drained of most of its energy began rejuvenating.

His golden armor shattered as his body began expanding and he kept growing. His eyes revealed fierce killing lights as his strength kept soaring.

“Go! I will deal with him!” Gin said disdainfully as he stood gallantly in front of Cyrus, like an immovable mountain.

“I will help you... Don’t worry as long as I can put in some effort, I should be able to cast some minor yet important spells... act like I’m not here” Cyrus refused his offer but did not move forward.

Instead, he retreated backward by a few meters and stood while trying to stabilize his condition in silence. Gin only shot him a glance before turning his attention elsewhere. After spending so much time with this old friend of his, he knew what he was like. Once Cyrus has decided on something he must have thought it through and it would be very difficult to change his mind.

Right now, he didn’t have the luxury to argue with his friend while a formidable foe approached.

“Last time we met you dealt a devastating blow... this time, you dealt a killing blow.... Harming me twice now is something to be proud of... for that reason alone I will give you a befitting death” Kaido said casually as he tightened his grip on the great sword while the sun symbol appeared on his forehead and his body lit up with power.

“Have I ever told you this before? You don’t have what it takes to kill me... Your methods are too straightforward and honest... You cannot win against my devour pathway!” Gin bellowed confidently as his body remained unmoved! He clearly had no intentions of retreating!

Impudent!

Boom!

Kaido’s aura exploded fiercely but at the same time, a powerful suction force erupted from Gin, pulling in Kaido’s power.

Huh?

Gin was confused as he saw Kaido standing and pouring out more power without fear while Gin kept greedily swallowing it all. He felt something was wrong but at this point, he couldn’t back away. In a battle like this, the first to turn his back on the enemy will most likely die and Gin understood this.

A battle is only truly lost when you show your back to the enemy!

“Have you ever heard of these words? In the face of absolute power, all forms of tricks and techniques are useless!” Kaido said with a confident smile on his face.

Buzzz!

Gin’s heart trembled at the thought of this word’s meaning, causing him to frown. While he may not be outspoken about it, he clearly knew the implications. Even without Kaido speaking he already sensed it.

During the first encounter, the battle took place at night preventing Kaido from revealing his true strength. He created a fake sun, limiting his power, and even then, consuming all the power of the false sun damaged him badly. Now he was gaining power from the actual sun, can he really deal with it?

Brrrrrr!

Blue cracks began spreading across Gin’s body as he reached his limit. Any more than this would kill him but if he stopped, the enemy could build up his power and strike them down.

He was at a loss for words and didn’t know how to deal with the situation without showing weaknesses. But then a voice boomed from the blood mountain.

“Cyrus, Gin, withdraw... You have done more than enough!” A familiar voice rang in the ears of everyone

Buzzz!

The hearts of everyone trembled as the confidence in the voice sowed seeds of doubt in their hearts. They gazed at the blood mountain and noticed the red Moon was brighter than ever while the black clouds were slowly spreading!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Green bolts of Lightning surged violently from the black clouds making many tremble.

“Saved by the bell... You won’t be so lucky next time” Gin snorted disdainfully but deep down he sighed in relief.

Damon really stepped in at the right time.

“AND WHO SAID YOU CAN LEAVE?” Kaido bellowed in anger as he rushed forward like a blazing storm!

Hmph!

Gin snorted disdainfully as he gathered his prepared to release all the power he had accumulated in a bid to defend against the enemy but a familiar figure appeared in front of them.

“Don’t worry... leave. I will deal with this kid... The energy accumulated by you two focuses on breaking through into a higher realm. I will handle things from here” Damon said calmly with an indifferent look on his face.

If it were in the past he wouldn’t dare compete with Kaido head on due to the cultivation level difference but now things are different. After massacring the entire dwarf army, he gathered enough soul energy to help skyrocket him into the spirit realm. Now he was a true spirit realm expert, his strength has soared even to greater levels!

Right now, there is probably no person left for him to fear on this continent.

“Since you insist on bringing harm to yourself, I will let you taste the true power of death!” Damon sneered as he watched the ball of flames racing towards Gin and Cyrus who were currently feeling back to the blood mountain but Damon’s figure blocked his path and he casually moved his hand forward as if he was trying to catch the massive ball of fire!

His eyes turned white as his aura turned Gray, silent and lonely. Black metallic sand soon filled the air and formed a massive iron wall!

Boom!

The giant ball of fire slammed into the massive metallic wall and countless shockwaves spread across the sky. Behind the wall was Damon with his hand placed by his back as he stood in mid-air, wearing only his trousers, leaving his body bare.

Even now his eyes were indifferent but his cold gaze was pinned on the son of heaven seated at the center of the large army. A cruel smile bloomed on his face as he gave a slight respectful nod at the king before looking away.
