Otherworld Dagashi Shop Yahagi

Chapter 140: A Strange Shop Appeared

Chapter 140: A Strange Shop Appeared

Me and Michelle came over to the land we were given and set up the stand-alone shop during the night.

It’s a wooden stand-alone shop with a retro Showa-era feel.

This is a convenient shop mode because it can be used as both a residence and a store.

It’s small for a residence where a Count lives, but it’s just right for me.

If it were too big, it would be hard to clean, wouldn’t it?

It would also be strange to have servants in a dagashi shop.

I made the kitchen bigger at Michelle’s request, but left the bathroom the same size as before.

I was strictly ordered not to change this part.

It was apparently just the right size for the two of us to be in close contact when we were in there……

I agree with Michelle on her point, but I also want to be able to stretch out my arms and legs in the bath.

With how often I’m going back to Luganda, I guess I can just stop by in Yahagi Onsen and stretch out there?

Come morning, Michelle started to get ready for school.

Today was their entrance ceremony, and for Michelle, this was her first meeting with the students.

[W- Well then, I’m off.]

[Don’t be so nervous. If it’s you, you’ll do just fine.]

[Aren’t the students going to look down on me?]

I don’t think anyone will do that.

After all, she’s the Curse Witch who had the whole country shudder a few years ago.

Let alone the students, not even the senior teachers would dare look down on her.

However, with Michelle saying that, I’m starting to feel concerned.

[With a teacher as cute as you are, that isn’t something you should worry about……]

When I seriously told her that, Michelle cheered up.

[It’s alright, Yuusuke. I’ll curse anyone who dares make passes on me! I got the Depilation Curse, Dislocation Curse, and also Disrobing Curse!]

[That’s a full line-up of D-Curses huh.]

[Yes, and I’m good at it?]

Michelle sure looks happy when she talks about her curses……

[I understand Depilation and Dislocation, but what’s with that Disrobing one?]

[It’s one where the elastics of the target’s belts and pants break easily. Also, buttons on their clothes would somehow come off without them noticing.]

It’s a simple but unpleasant curse.

[You shouldn’t just go cursing people, okay? If you’re having a bad day, I’m here to listen to you.]

[Unnn…… Yuusuke too, if something bothers you, feel free to tell me.]

[Me? Well, I guess I’ll report that to you if something really happens, but I don’t think anything bad happens in a dagashi shop.]

[You wouldn’t know that. You might get a lot of cheeky brats coming here.]

That may be true, but it’s just gonna be children.

No way they’re gonna do anything close to getting me killed.

[You worry too much, Michelle.]

[You wouldn’t know that. There really are a lot of cheeky brats at the Royal Academy.]

[You’re an alumnus there, aren’t you? Are you saying you’re also cheeky?]

[I- I’m one of the quiet ones!]

[I’ve heard a lot about you though……]

I’ve heard many legends about Michelle in her days at the academy.

She apparently trapped a perverted vice principal in an endless corridor and cursed someone who tried bullying her so that every time they spoke, snakes, frogs, or venomous insects came out of their mouths.

[I- It’s just the follies of my youth……]

[Well, now that you’ve mellowed out, let’s just settle for that Disrobing Curse.]

[R- Right.]

I kissed Michelle goodbye.

[Take care.]

[Unnn, I’ll have more when I get home……]

Looking high from happiness, Michelle went to work.

Now then, I guess I’ll get on with my own thing.

Since I’m selling my stuff to kids, I won’t open the shop until after school.

Until then, I guess I’ll go back to Luganda and manage my territory.

Though I say that, all I have to do is listen to Nakaram-san’s report and restock the lacking goods.

When I have time, I guess I’ll show up at the adventurers’ spot and open my stall in front of Luganda Dungeon.

After confirming my schedule for the day, I headed to the Teleportation Portal.

In the afternoon, I properly opened up my shop.

Dagashi Yahagi: Royal Capital Branch has finally opened its doors to the public in its new location.

The academy is still quiet, so the children must still be in class.

Every once in a while, I could hear some sort of explosion, but I wonder if that’s a magic explosion or something?

For the time being, I checked my shop’s merchandise and cleared out the items that were too dangerous.

The people I’m selling to this time aren’t adventurers, but students.

Then, I displayed today’s choice items in a conspicuous spot.

Here is today’s recommendation.

Product name: Star Comfits (20 bits)

Description: When bitten with the back teeth, it enables high-speed movement (not an acceleration tool). Comes with stars scattering around special effects when moving.

Price: 30 rims

They’re comfits in small sachets.

The pastel-colored comfit bits packed in a blue sachet are adorable.

Even though it said “high-speed movement”, at most it’s about 1.3 times their own speed, and its distance only lasts for 50 centimeters.

Well, it would be quite a terrifying thing if a swordmaster used it.

(T/N: Not sure if that 50 cm the author gave is accurate. The author really did type 50cm, but that’s like only the distance of one wide step.)

Oh, I heard bells ringing from both schools.

That must be the signal for the end of the school day.

After waiting for a while, children started to appear on the street.

Since both schools are boarding schools though, few children come outside.

The children passing in front of the shop seemed to have immediately become curious about the newly opened shop, whispering with their friends while looking my way.

Their uniform should be for the Royal Academy.

It’s a blazer-like design made of well-tailored fabric.

The striped tie is also stylish.

Anyhow, I decided to call out to them.

[Welcome, Dagashi Yahagi opens today!]

They seemed a little interested, but they never came close to us.

Are they shying away?

Or perhaps, do they have some sort of school rule against loitering in shops after school?

I took out a bit of star comfit and biting it with my molars, I stepped forward.

As soon as I did, seven-colored stars scattered from my feet and my body streamed forward, as if the earth itself had shrunk.

[Our snacks are all kinds of fun. Come by and have a look!]

[Whoa, that’s amazing! What’s that!? Magic?]

Three boys came running with great enthusiasm.

They were about the age of junior high students back in Japan.

They are wearing the uniform of the Adventurer Academy.

Wearing protectors on their vital parts, their outfit looks like they’re ready to battle any time.

[If I eat the snacks here, I can make stars fly like you did!?]

[Yeah, I have a lot of different kinds of snacks, so go ahead and take a look.]

The boys happily entered the shop, but the children from the Royal Academy who were looking my way earlier just kept looking from a distance.

Do they find it difficult to enter my shop?

[Mister, what’s a 10-rim gum?]

[Whoa! He’s selling Mobile Forces here!!!! You can’t get this stuff very often!]

[Gungalf! Sell me a Gungalf!]

[Yes, yes, I’m coming.]

The energetic boys played until just before their curfew.
