Chapter 242: Replicating Again, Beaten Up
Chapter 242: Replicating Again, Beaten Up
Ling Jiu had encountered many Arcanas, but mental-type Arcanas were rare. With the exception of Niu Ben’s Mind-reading, this was the first time he had encountered a mental-type Arcana.
So he decided to try out this Arcana.
“The Beckoning!”
A terrifying suction force spouted from his hand with just a thought, pulling the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel out of the pool.
The eel made a strange shrill, its body wriggling as it tried to get away. But the suction force had caught hold of it.
Ling Jiu’s control over his arcanas was even more superb and his Gravity Arcana had reached a terrifying level of strength since he became a Level-9 arcanist. No way the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel could easily escape.
The eel was struggling in desperation, but to no avail. Then out of a sudden, there was a golden light in the eyes of spiky eel.
Two golden rays shot out from its eyes at Ling Jiu the next moment.
He let out an agonizing scream as he felt a heart-piercing pain in his head, as if a hammer had hit him in the head.
He lost focus for a time and the gravitational force dissipated with the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel escaping back into the pool.
“It’s painful!”
It took him a full half an hour before the pain in the head went away. He squatted in the air and rubbed his swollen temples.
He still felt dizzy, along with a faint needle-like sharp pain, and this drove him crazy.
“Was this the Mental Attack arcana? Impressive!”
Ling Jiu looked at the corner of the pool and saw the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel hidden in the water. A vicious light flashed in the eel’s eyes.
This Goldwyrm Spiked Eel was not strong physically, at most comparable to a Class-9 direbeast. But it could unleash a powerful Mental Attack.
The damage that the Mental Attack could cause was now evident.
“Replicate the Mental Shock!”
Replication is successful. Install?
“Install!”
As Ling Jiu ordered, another heart-wrenching pain struck him again. But this time, the pain of the arcana installation was not on the body but on the head.
Waves of pain, one more painful than the previous one, assaulted his nerves and sent him holding his head in torment.
Ten minutes later, the pain went away.
He took a rest before studying this new arcana.
Mental Attack was an unprecedented new arcana. It was about the use of mental power since it belonged to the mental-type arcana.
A few minutes later, Ling Jiu had figured out how to use Mental Attack.
“Awesome arcana! With my current mental power, I can kill most Class-Nine and below direbeasts instantaneously.”
Ling Jiu swept his gaze over and locked his eyes on the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel. “Since you first attacked me, I will now return the favor.”
Two beams of golden light shot out of Ling Jiu’s eyes as soon as his voice trailed off. The laser-like lights shot into the pool and penetrated the head of the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel.
The Goldwyrm Spiked Eel shrieked and its body straightened up.
It then trembled violently, blood oozing out of its nostrils and mouth. Its body softened after a while.
It was dead.
The Mental Attack had struck it to death.
Ling Jiu let out a long sigh. The frustration of being attacked by the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel had gone away. He picked up the corpse of the eel and swallowed it. He then let his mind sink into the Inner World.
The body of the whale-like galactic life form was still standing in the boundless sea of fire. It looked like it was still perfectly intact.
But Ling Jiu could see that the bottom part of the body in contact with the fire had been burned into nothingness, and fire was spreading upward.
“It has started to break down at last.” He breathed another sigh of relief. “Things will be much easier when it starts to break down.”
On the other hand, the body of the Goldwyrm Spiked Eel did not last long before it was burned into nothingness and transformed into pure bio-energy and dark bio-energy by the raging flames.
“Bio-energy has started to pile up in the body. It’s time to find some punching bags.”
Ling Jiu withdrew from the Inner World and started to look for the dimensional marking on the ‘gorilla.’ He then performed a Blink Arcana and came to the place where the gorilla was. What he saw surprised him.
The situation did not look good for the gorilla.
Three giant beasts resembling Tyrannosaurus, but more like a crocodile, surrounded and attacked the gorilla.
These three giant beasts were blood-red all over, with knotted muscles, and a row of spikes several meters long growing from the top of the head to the tailbone.
Their four legs under the abdomen were large and strong. The sharp claws were several meters long, and their mouths were full of fangs, with blood and meat residue still on their teeth.
He looked at the gorilla again. It was not looking good, as its body was dripping with blood and covered with deep cuts. It was not difficult to guess that these were the works of the three giant beasts.
The three giant beasts kept attacking the gorilla using their sharp fangs and claws, and were cooperating very well with each other.
Whenever the gorilla attacked one of them, the remaining two would attack at once.
With the giant beasts working together, they were beating the gorilla to a pulp, leaving the gorilla bleeding and almost giving up.
The gorilla was covered with injuries, but the three giant beasts were completely unharmed. If things continued like this, the gorilla would become the lunch of the three giant beasts in no time.
“Poor baby!”
Ling Jiu shook his head. He then performed an Arcana Field to cover the entire area and then released the maximum level of gravity force that he could perform so far.
,000 times of gravity force formed in the area.
The three giant beasts were crushed to the ground.
Ling Jiu looked at the gorilla again. The gorilla stood in place and looked at the three giant beasts in puzzlement and disbelief. Why were they lying on the ground?
Before the gorilla could figure out what happened, Ling Jiu had quietly come above a giant beast and looked at it with a smile.
As a Level-9 arcanist, Ling Jiu had a superb control of gravity. He could direct gravity in any direction, cover an entire area, and strike indiscriminately. He could also use a gravity beam to aim at a particular target so as not to injure friendly party accidentally.
He performed everything with just a thought.
“Huh?”
The gorilla was startled at first when it saw Ling Jiu. It then recognized him.
“Hey, big guy. Don’t you recognize me?” Ling Jiu asked with a smile.
The gorilla roared and nodded at Ling Jiu.
This native direbeast of this planet might be a stellar life form, but it could not speak, which differed from the direbeasts on Earth. It did not matter, though.
It still had a high IQ.
“Good, that you know.” Ling Jiu nodded. “I have wanted to spar with you at first. Since you are injured, I will let you do it this time.”
He then swallowed the three giant beasts. Just as he was about to leave, the earth shook violently.
The shaking was as if a drum beat, very rhythmic.
After a while, giant trees snapped and fell as a behemoth emerged.
This was a ‘gorilla’ with a height of 150 meters, with silver scales glinting in silverish metallic luster all over its body.
In terms of height alone, this gorilla was one-half larger than the previous one. It was burlier and more muscular.
After the silver gorilla appeared, it first glanced at the smaller gorilla. A frosty and brutal light flashed in its eyes when it saw blood on the smaller gorilla.
Its frosty and brutal eyes locked on Ling Jiu in an instant. It thought it was Ling Jiu who injured the smaller gorilla since there was no one else here.
The silver gorilla pounded his chest, looking up at the sky and roaring. It then swung its enormous fist at Ling Jiu.
“Is this a misunderstanding?”
Ling Jiu knew that the silver gorilla had mistakenly thought that he was the one who hurt the smaller gorilla. But he had no plan to explain. Let things take their natural course. If that silver gorilla wanted to fight, he would be happy to oblige, since he had a ton of vitality waiting for him to exhaust.
Ling Jiu took a deep breath and then transformed into a 50-meter giant to meet the silver gorilla’s iron fist with his.
As the two fists collided, Ling Jiu felt a massive force hit him. The muscles in his arms burst open, the forearm bones instantly snapped, and the arm bones fractured.
His entire right arm was as good as gone with just one blow. That showed how terrifying the strength of this silver gorilla was.
“What a strength!”
Ling Jiu was frightened, and no longer wanted to fight it head-on. He performed a Blink Arcana and rolled with the punches, waiting for his right arm to heal.
His right arm rapidly healed and fully recovered in less than two minutes with his dual effects of vitality and self-healing ability.
Ling Jiu clenched his fists, feeling his right arm was firmer and apparently stronger than before.
“Come again!”
Ling Jiu did not dodge this time but lunged forward to greet the silver gorilla.
Ling Jiu’s Blink Arcana had long been a frustrating annoyance to the silver gorilla. It could not have been more delighted when Ling Jiu came to it on his own. So it struck out a punch with no hesitation.
Next, a drama of torture and self-mutilation unfolded with the silver gorilla beating him, and he self-abusing.
The smaller gorilla was like a cat on hot bricks. It tried to stop them, but it was seriously injured, too helpless to do anything. All it could do was stand by and watch.
Time passed.
The drama was still ongoing.
An hour had passed in a blink of an eye. Ling Jiu had lost count of how many times he was beaten, and how many wounds on his body. But he just would not die; he was repeatedly beaten, injured, and then recovering, and he lunged up at the silver gorilla time and again.
He was quickly consuming the stored vitality.
The entire process was extremely bloody, aggrieved, cruel, and self-mutilating, but the results were very satisfying.
Ling Jiu had discovered that up to this point, he could still be wounded, but the wound was less serious, and it healed quicker than before.
What did this mean?
It meant that his physique was improving rapidly.
Just this point alone was worth the brutal beatings.
“Come again!”
“Didn’t you f*cking eat? Beat me harder... Aah—”
“Come again!”
“Do it harder!”
Another hour had passed.
The silver gorilla had stopped beating. It gave up. It was scared. It looked at Ling Jiu as if he was a monster.
“I surrender!”
“I am f*cking surrendering! What freaking monster are you?”
The silver gorilla grabbed the smaller gorilla and left with its tail between its legs.
