My Mother Has a System but Won't Use It

Chapter 185: The Strongest

Beasts had Beast Cores they inherited from the Everlasting Beast World…

What about Humans?

What power did they inherit from their interworld ancestors?

Li Shuanwei liked to speak deliberately and slowly, as if he were giving Han Li a picture to figure out the bigger view himself.

Han Li calmly pondered.

Sparks were just powers of the Dao Tree, the Heavens of this world—The World of the Seven Continents. It was a power originally from this world.

But Beast Cores were not. Han Li didn't have much knowledge of it and didn't even really know if it would be possible for Beasts to go beyond Beast King level, which was equivalent to Power Borns. What were the Beast Emperors like?

He had been rather unclear about what even the Heavens were, but now that he had the perspective of Li Shuanwei to think from, he could figure things out.

Indeed…

The Dao Tree being alive in the form of a world-encompassing consciousness made him quite a lot worried about its intentions and also about his Talents.

Would the Dao Tree, the origin of the world itself, actually allow him to steal one of its Daos? Would it? It was basically like stealing its flesh, after all.

Would it obediently give him the ownership oveer the Dao of Lust?

Li Shuanwei didn't interrupt his thoughts.

A minute later, Han Li's voice was severe as he asked, "You found the power of the Humans from the Everlasting Human World? What power do they have? How can we use it ourselves?"

This was not at the level of simple battle strength anymore.

This might as well influence his ambition of attaining immortality and gaining control over life and death.

This was now, actually, solidly important.

Li Shuanwei showed him a calm smile and said, "It is actually rather refreshing to have spoken this out. I also deduced something else. Would you like to know of it?"

Han Li shook his head. "I could guess what it is. I have heard of the multiple worlds in this universe. Each world has a wilted Dao Tree, and among them, people could not even cultivate most of them. But two worlds stand out from all of it, right? The Everlasting Human World and the Everlasting Beast World.

"Those two worlds are the only two worlds with a mature Cultivation System and even complete echo systems. All of the rest of the multiple worlds, including our Seven Continents, are incomplete. Even though I don't know how or why that is since I haven't seen what a complete world like the Everlasting World looks like.

"But our world is special in that it has the powers of both worlds here. Your deduction must be about how this world can create the strongest cultivator in all three worlds. The strongest—Someone who walks all three paths of Beast, Human, and… Heaven/Dao Tree."

In fact, Han Li himself had a wild thought from long ago… his mother had come from a different world. Where was that from?

He had had some thoughts, but he hadn't yet gotten the chance to read her memories and make sure of them.

Li Shuanwei couldn't help but slightly pause.

"Exactly, senior…" His voice was a bit surprised but not too much. He himself had compiled the truth of places like different worlds and such from the hundreds of thousands of myths and legends regarding the Sacred Demons; only then had he been able to compile the most possible truth.

But all Transcendents must already know of these things… or so he guessed.

"So I began my research and…" Li Shuanwei sighed this time before opening his palm. A small transparent orb was there. "You asked me my Dao Soul, I don't have one since I am an Unawakened. This is my Beast Core, or as I like to call it, my Human Core. It is of no Dao or Attribute. It just is."

Han Li's heart trembled slightly.

"What does it do?"

"It makes my body stronger like Transformation Path Cultivators. I could totally stand toe to toe with Sacred Talent Evolved even if they transform. My body is as strong as any in the Evolution Stage and I have more potential than them since I am like a Beast but with intelligence. I am far inferior to Below Average Power Birth Physiques."

'About as strong as myself physically…' Han Li noted.

"So, how did you gain this Beast Core?"

"Simple…" Li Shuanwei dragged there. No matter how deeply he knew it was all meaningless due to him not being one of the seven inheritors, it was still painful to give away his own fortune.

Yet, part of being a nihilist came with calmness. He continued, "I gained the Beast Core in a very lucky encounter. I don't know if senior himself would struggle to do it." This made Han Li squint secretly. "I accidentally picked up a Life Dao Magical Resource. I don't know its name. It looked like a golden ball of solidified fire, but nothing happened after I ate it.

Then, once, when I was out, a Beast ate me. It was a huge creature and it had eaten me whole.

"When I woke up, though, I had ended up completely devouring that Beast. I could feel it in my stomach. Before I knew it, I had gotten a Beast Core, something that no human before me had ever accomplished."

Han Li nodded, approving of the fact. He himself had no idea what the said Magical Resource was, but with that much information, his mother's system should do the rest. Li Shuanwei couldn't lie after the binding, after all.

"So your physical prowess is all due to eating a Beast after eating a lucky resource. Then what about your capability to fight Power Birth Stage Cultivators?" Han Li could guess, but he asked regardless.

Li Shuanwei called back his Beast/Human Core into himself.

Then, he calmly showed something in his other hand. It was a ball of invisible flame.

"It is this power. Human Cultivation is also split into categories like Beast Cultivation and Dao Tree Cultivation. It is the power of the Vital Weapons. The power humans inherited from the Everlasting Human World."

"…" Han Li listened.

"We can bind anything in the whole world into our invisible flame. Only one thing, but that one thing could be anything.

"From dust to fire to anything! I made hot wind into my Vital Weapon, and it would forever grow stronger with me, and people can't see or easily resist it when I attack with it.

"It would also gain unique powers, especially if I use it with strong weapons. Like I can fuse the power of the hot wind with a sword, and it would gain that power. Hot wind is not the only choice; we can make anything we can touch into our Vital Weapon, and it is much easier to grow in strength than cultivating to higher levels."

"How strong is that weapon?" Han Li asked.

"It can help me stand toe to toe with a weak Power Born for a while. It also grows stronger the more I… am like the wind, carefree and lazy. I don't know the principle of it, but it is a very reliable weapon."

Han Li's gaze slowly grew calm. Indeed, Li Shuanwei had avoided cultivating the path of the Dao Tree because he knew it was worthless to cultivate on that path for anyone but the Seven Sacred Inheritors. But Han Li could have all three: Beast, Human, and Heaven.

It almost seemed as if someone had thrown it on his lap. This was exactly meant for him. Yet, he kept his cynical thoughts of new things active. He had to learn before he took any hasty actions.

"How do I gain a Vital Weapon?" Han Li calmly asked. That seemed to be more than just a weapon. It was the power of the Humans from the higher world. He wanted it.

While these were all the truths, his dear ancestor Li Xingguang had told him to fuse Proficiency, Heart Qi, and such into one. What a misdirection. Idiots would have been misguided.

Li Shuanwei hesitated for a second before saying with a sigh, "You have to gain a sort of enlightenment on what you want and just keep in that enlightened form for some years. I wanted to be like the wind, and when years of that ambition held, I gained my Vital Weapon. I had the choice of what kind of wind I wanted, and I chose hot wind as the weapon.

"Then, the more I did to go on that ambition, the stronger my weapon became. So it is a power of will, I guess… The more ambitious or more someone wants it, the stronger it will be. But the pivotal point of the enlightenment was when I ate another Life Type Magical Resource, Enlightened Heart Fruit, it had made my mind as calm as death itself."

Han Li furrowed his brows.

Years?

So, it was not an instant power-up, but he didn't think he lacked ambition. He had the ambition to become something more than anyone—to become Immortal, the controller of life and death. He wondered if that counted.

Then, there were those two Life Dao Fruits.

This kid really had luck, having eaten two Life Dao Resources in a life as short as 30 years old. It was as if heaven had planned everything…

Han Li's mind shook slightly but for now, he delved that thought aside.
