Chapter 110 It's not like I can ask to stay at your home?
Lin Ruoxi let out a resigned sigh, realizing that she couldn't linger in the hospital indefinitely. She stood up, feeling a sense of awkwardness surrounding the situation.
"Mr. Zhang, it's already past eleven. I think it's time for us to leave. Would you like us to give you a ride along the way?" Lin Ruoxi offered, considering the long journey from the North to the South district.
Finding public transportation at this hour would likely be challenging.
She knew that without any means of transportation, Zhang Wei would face difficulties.
Knowing that the group consisted of two cars, with Wu Xue and Ye Feng also living near the South district, Lin Ruoxi suggested a plan.
They could drop her off at her villa in the North district first before heading towards the South district together.
Zhang Wei hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on Yu Lei's still form, before finally nodding. "I would appreciate that, President Lin."
Lin Ruoxi agreed to take him along, understanding that it was the least she could do to assist him in his current situation.
As they stepped outside, their eyes widened in disbelief.
"Who would do such a thing!" Ye Feng cursed, his gaze fixed on the flattened tires of the Bentley.
Lin Ruoxi's expression grew complicated, and she let out a sigh.
"Sister beauty, don't worry, we have another car," Ye Feng reassured, pointing towards the red Porsche parked at a distance.
Lin Ruoxi's gaze shifted to the convertible two-seater, then back to Zhang Wei, a sense of awkwardness settling in. Was she expected to drive Zhang Wei all the way to the South district and then return?
However, before anyone could reach a conclusion, Zhang Wei spoke up. "President Lin, where is your home?"
"It's a bit far from here," Lin Ruoxi replied.
Zhang Wei shook his head and glanced at the two-seater car. "President Lin, there's no need for you to worry. I'll find another way to get home. After all, it's quite far from here. I wouldn't want to trouble you. You can ask your bodyguard to drop you off at your villa."
"... Haha, It's not like I can ask to stay at your home this late at night, right?" He chuckled, attempting to lighten the situation, however a sharp glint flashed across his eyes for a moment, which was gone unnoticed by everyone around.
Lin Ruoxi's eyes sparkled as a brilliant idea formed in her mind.
However, a slight frown crossed her face, a hint of suspicion lingering.
Yet, upon gazing at Zhang Wei's innocent expression, she couldn't bring herself to believe he had intentionally uttered those words.
"I don't see any problem with it, Mr. Zhang. Why don't you just come and stay at my place for the night? It would make it easier for you to visit the hospital tomorrow as well. After all, public transportation is mostly unavailable at night," Lin Ruoxi proposed, her voice filled with genuine concern.
Zhang Wei feigned hesitation, his tone slightly wavering. "B-But your home... wouldn't that be a bit inappropriate?"
Lin Ruoxi furrowed her brow, dismissing his concerns. "There's no issue at all. We have spare rooms, and you don't need to worry about Ye Feng and Wu Xue. Ye Feng will be staying with Wu Xue, and nothing will happen to her with him. They can find lodging nearby."
Unable to deny any longer, Zhang Wei sighed. "Then I'll be in your care for today, President Lin. I hope I'm not burdening you."
With that, both Zhang Wei and Lin Ruoxi entered the red Porsche and set off towards her villa.
Lin Ruoxi had intentionally chosen a location near her company, located in the North district, to minimize commuting time.
The city was vast, and traffic congestion often proved to be a significant time drain.
Commuting could be an enormous waste of time in such a bustling metropolis.
As they drove away, Ye Feng was left speechless. Filled with anger, he unleashed a furious kick onto the Bentley, his voice echoing with frustration, "Bastard! It must be him. He's behind all of this! And now, he's even deceived the beautiful sister!"
"Huh?" Wu Xue furrowed her brows, perplexed by Ye Feng's outburst. "Ye Feng, what nonsense are you spouting? Mr. Zhang is Yu Lei's husband. You can't continuously slander him without any valid reason."
Ye Feng's expression instantly turned dark, a bitter chuckle escaping his lips. "Slander?" he muttered to himself, finding the irony amusing.
After all, wasn't it Zhang Wei who had been the one slandering him?
Though Ye Feng knew the truth, he swallowed his words bitterly, unable to reveal the truth in that moment.
However, another shock awaited him. Just as they were stepping outside the hospital premises, intending to search for a hotel, a black Audi followed by several police cars pulled up near Ye Feng.
"Hm?" Ye Feng's eyebrows shot up in bewilderment, his mind struggling to process the sudden turn of events.
The Audi's door swung open, revealing a woman with flowing purple hair that cascaded down her back, exuding an air of allure.
Ye Feng found himself momentarily entranced, his gaze inexplicably fixated on her impeccably long legs.
"Are you Ye Feng?" the woman named Leng Yan asked, her voice carrying an icy chill that sent shivers down his spine.
A mischievous grin played on Ye Feng's lips as he responded, "Ah, yes, my dear beauty, that would be me."
Leng Yan's expression soured, her brow furrowing in displeasure. "My name is Leng Yan, deputy chief of PSB. Let me make one thing clear, Ye Feng. If you dare to utter any more of those trashy nicknames, I will personally ensure that you can't walk properly. Now, listen closely. You are suspected of being involved in acts of terrorism. Come with us!"
A surge of shock coursed through Wu Xue's body, mirroring Ye Feng's stunned reaction.
"Ye Feng, a terrorist? Officer, there must be some mistake. You have surely confused him with someone else," she interjected, her voice filled with disbelief.
