Chapter 345: Leading the Disaster East_1
Hamza thought of the huge hole left on the Skyfire wall, which was punched open barehanded by the Destroyer of the Sect at the time of Skyfire’s obliteration, shattering the walls of Skyfire Hall that stood for hundreds of years.
Later, when Skyfire was reborn, the new Sect Hierarch ordered that this wall be left as it was to serve as a warning for future generations, reminding them to always seek revenge.
Now, the legendary enemy was right in front of him, and Hamza’s emotions were like riding a rollercoaster, soaring and plummeting.
“Mr. Reed, aren’t you afraid that I might betray you? Skyfire has been searching for you for decades without the slightest clue. If I tell the Sect Hierarch about this, it would certainly be a great achievement and would also clear my name.”
Hamza tentatively asked, truly astonished that the other party would be so forthright.
Despite this, she still harbored doubts about Julius Reed’s true identity.
A mere youth, able to annihilate Skyfire all those years ago?
Decades ago, likely that young man’s father was but a child himself.
“I’ve said that if you harbor the slightest inkling of betrayal, I can make sure you die without a whole corpse, and I suspect that Skyfire would not spare your family either, right?”
Julius Reed turned around, wearing an extremely playful smile on his face.
“Then they… ”
“Rest assured, by the time you agreed to join me, my employees far away in Europe had already moved your family to safety. They will soon be transferred to a secure location. Skyfire won’t expend so much effort searching for your family, and frankly, they don’t have the ability to do so,”
Julius Reed interrupted Hamza’s words again.
This statement left Hamza frozen in place, trembling uncontrollably.
Every step was so well thought out; he lost fairly.
Now, setting aside his age, he truly believed that the youth before him was the one who had destroyed Skyfire that year.
“In fact, my friend spared you because he was too preoccupied with your startled expression, and by the time he thought to take action, you had left. As for that arrow, indeed, it was a spur-of-the-moment strategy I came up with on the fly,”
Julius Reed pushed open the door of the room, pointing to a man inside with an injured leg: “This is Lucan Davenport, my man. He’s the one who killed your colleagues.”
He walked over to Lucan Davenport, pointing to his wound: “Although he was injured by you, Lucan thinks highly of you and wishes to befriend you.”
“The firepower of brother’s hidden weapon box was too intense; I have always been exceedingly proud, but after receiving that dart, I am thoroughly convinced. Designing such a flawless plan in midair, something that ordinary people couldn’t possibly achieve,”
Lucan Davenport grinned, picked up the crutch from beside the bed, and moved toward Hamza: “Well done.”
“At that time, we each served our own masters; I apologize if it was inappropriate,” Hamza, seeing that Lucan was injured by his hand, still maintaining a polite demeanor, couldn’t help feeling somewhat ashamed.
“Is the injury serious?” he asked, concern evident in his voice.
“It’s fine! It’s fine!” Lucan nodded, turning back to return to the bedside.
“Since the two of you are already acquainted, I see no need for further introductions,” Julius Reed turned on the projector, pointing to the huge map on the wall: “This is the map of the Leopold Family’s villa. Although we have the capability to infiltrate the surveillance within your villa, your Skyfire’s security layout is completely unclear to me.”
“To be honest, I don’t plan to kill the Saint Heir; I want to capture him and force Skyfire to comply!”
Having said that, he looked at Hamza: “Do you have any objections?”
“I do not suggest such a course of action,” Hamza glanced at the map of the Leopold Family villa, still deeply shocked.
The fact that they had access to so many of the villa’s cameras indicated a complete absence of security and privacy.
“Speak your mind,” Julius Reed nodded and walked toward the map: “You have lived here, you are more familiar with it. If it were up to you, how would you proceed?”
In Skyfire, Hamza held a high position, responsible for security and protection year-round.
The staffing of the Leopold Family’s villa was entirely his handiwork; he knew these matters like the back of his hand.
In his mind, the villa was a living map.
“Mr. Reed, my suggestion not to proceed as you planned is to catch a big fish with a long line!” Hamza respectfully spoke: “We from Skyfire have sent so many people because, a month ago, the Saint Heir received a phone call from an unknown woman, who claimed to have found the person responsible for our destruction. The Saint Heir then hurried here overnight, only to find no one; instead, a conflict with the Leopold Family ensued.”
He paused, then continued: “Tonight, that woman called again, berating the Saint Heir, and threatening, with a disdain that could not belong to an ordinary person, to eradicate all of Skyfire.”
Hamza laid out all his thoughts, not hiding a thing.
Sincere in his defection, he left no room for misinterpretation.
“A mysterious woman?”
Julius Reed stroked his chin, thinking slowly.
In his memory, there didn’t seem to be any interaction with such a woman.
Moreover, it appeared that this mysterious woman wielded more power than Skyfire—after all, it’s quite rare for someone to contact the Sect Hierarch directly!
“Have you heard the specifics?” Julius Reed frowned slightly. Who could this woman be?
Holding such a grudge against him to want him dead?
“I heard some!”
Hamza nodded: “Tonight, the Saint Heir and Truman Ridge had a conflict at the Ridge Family’s gate. The Saint Heir, feeling insulted, slapped Truman Ridge. It was concerning this matter that the woman called, reprimanding the Saint Heir and even threatening to kill all of Skyfire.”
“That fierce? It seems she’s indeed ruthless!”
Julius Reed nodded; it was rare these days to encounter such a venomous woman.
“Indeed! The Saint Heir is noble; how could he tolerate such treatment?” Hamza said, bitterness flashing in his eyes.
“But by the time we left, our people had already died. Even if the Saint Heir suspects me of being a traitor, he would most certainly blame the woman, not associating it with you.”
“The Saint Heir is very wary of this woman’s words. If no results come of the investigation, I reckon the Saint Heir will communicate with the Sect Hierarch personally to expose the woman behind it all.”
After listening to Hamza, Julius Reed had an epiphany.
He had been wondering how to raise the Saint Heir’s suspicions; now that the mysterious red-clad woman had appeared, he could use her to divert the Saint Heir’s attention.
“If that’s the case, let’s use their plot against them and see if the Saint Heir takes the bait!”
Julius Reed sat by the table, addressing both Hamza and Lucan: “Hamza, you go to the Ridge Family and are responsible for killing a few of the Ridge Family’s confidants. In about half an hour, I shall pay a visit to the Leopold Family villa to see if that woman can remain seated!”
