Chapter 380 Burial Chambers

The interior of the burial chambers was a circular room expanded with Space Magic. William scanned the room with interest, counting the number of coffins that lined the walls.

It's like an ancient morgue... William thought to himself as his count reached a hundred thousand easily. He had only looked at a small fraction of the room, but the indents where the coffins laid were stacked thirty high and extended as far as the eye could see.

"All of our dead that have reached the Nascent Soul Realm and above are buried here, while the rest are buried in another chamber. Two thousand years' worth of history is truly a sight to see, isn't it?" the Monarch smiled at his guest's expressions.

Even if his tour was forced, the Monarch took pride in their burial ceremony, which was held at the end of each month. Then, thousands of corpses would be added to their walls, ranging from every Realm of Cultivation. Of those corpses, roughly a dozen Nascent Soul and above Cultivators would be brought here.

Riyald glowed, but not because of the corpses. Instead, he was focused on the incredibly dense layer of consciousnesses in the environment, which could be absorbed by his current Cultivation Technique. If Riyald spent a few weeks here, he could Ascend right away!

He looked at William, who nodded to confirm that this was his plan all along. Riyald turned once more to face the Monarch, not afraid in the slightest of the consequences of his next words.

"I'm going to absorb some of these souls." he declared.

With William as his backer, Riyald could speak freely, even to the leader of the Dragon Continent. He looked the Monarch directly in the eye as the other party's expression switched from fury to worry and finally to anguish.

William used a Tier 6 Array to seal the movements of the Monarch, then sealed his senses with the Seal Element. No leader would want to see what was about to happen next, and William didn't plan to torture the poor man.

"Go ahead, Master Riyald, but only absorb what you need. Don't go too far." William warned as he made preparations of his own. He hadn't forgotten about the dangers of the Ascended Realms, and he had no plans to let his Master suffer.

I don't know how strong that Duon person is, but there's probably many more like him. I can only hope that Master doesn't meet any of them from the start.

While Riyald activated his Forbidden Soul Cultivation Technique, William used his X-Rank Plant Element to create eight incredibly tough blocks of wood. With the assistance of the Carpentry Talent and the Abyssal Weapon Shifter in saw-form, William carved the wood into defined shapes that would give them a more human-like appearance.

He also created a large hole in the stomach area of each Array Puppet, seating all seven of his Beast Cores into the first set and his only Greater Beast Core into the other. He added special Tier 6 Arrays that were much better than his previous communication method, allowing him to control them even from the other side of the World at all times.

The entire time, William was worried that the Tier 6 Arrays would be too much for the Beast Cores to handle, but they seemed to do just fine as long as it was only for communication purposes. Only after the holes were covered with a layer of wood could he begin to add Arrays.

He started with Complete Arrays to further reinforce the material, then performed some tests and found that the current Array Puppets could handle three additional Tier 6 Arrays each. The Puppet with the Greater Beast Core could handle 5 more. Discover hidden content at empire

He chose his Tier 6 Arrays wisely, using one for physical defense, a second that would raise a replicated Spirit Aura, and a third for strength that would enhance the power of the Puppets' attacks.

For the Puppet with the Greater Beast Core, William used five thousand of his own Soul Strength to establish a permanent connection with it through a Spirit Array, then used the last remaining slot and another five thousand Soul Strength to create a defensive Array to protect his soul.

This way, even if the communication function didn't work in the Ascended Realms, William could still perceive everything that happened. He could even control the other seven Array Puppets through the one with the Greater Beast Core, though he wasn't skilled enough to truly bring them to life, even with the assistance of the Beast Cores.

With the remainder of the space on the Array Puppets, William filled it to the brim with improved Complete Arrays. The entire process took five weeks and William even harvested the Seal and Order Fruits twice, but it was worth it in the end.

Seated at the side, Riyald was only a few hours away from Ascension. His soul was fluctuating wildly, attempting to merge together against his will, but he resisted. Riyald could tell that William was busy with the Array Puppets, so he opted to wait until his Disciple was finished before saying his goodbyes.

After a thousand plus years in the Gravitas Ruins, Riyald had no issue waiting a bit longer for his Disciple that made his Ascension possible.

William wiped the sweat off his brow and inspected his work. Standing in front of him were eight powerful Array Puppets each carrying strength in the Ascension Realm. Each Puppet had the ability to take on Marcus by themselves if controlled properly, and the Greater Puppet was even stronger, but William had yet to test their capabilities.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

He gave two of the Puppets a Starmetal Bow, while another two received Starmetal Shields. The Enchanted Starmetal Dual Blades that he had yet to use were given to the Greater Puppet, and the Starmetal Javelin, Staff, and Greatsword were given to the remaining three Puppets.

With that, William's Puppets were completely outfitted and ready for a battle in the Ascended Realms, hopefully. He spent two thousand Potential Points to ask the System for a suitable Ascension point for Riyald, then asked the old man to follow behind.

When they were about to leave the burial chamber, Riyald looked behind him and stopped William for a moment.

"What about the Monarch?" Riyald asked.

"Oh right, I forgot about him." William snapped his fingers and unsealed the Monarch, allowing him to move freely again. The Monarch, only able to breathe for five weeks, was suddenly overwhelmed with the urge to use the bathroom, but he was stunned speechless when he sensed the condition of the burial chambers.

It was slight, but the Monarch could tell that roughly two percent of the stored souls had been completely absorbed, which meant...

"We have to go. Thanks for the hospitality!" William waved and started to cast a Space Magic Spell.

Before the Monarch had a chance to speak, William dragged Riyald through a long-distance portal that took them to the western edge of the Dragon Continent. Tears welled up in the Monarch's eyes, realizing what had happened in an instant.

At least I got two Artifacts out of it... The Monarch thought to himself as he reached for his Space Ring.

As he reached for his Space Ring...

His Space Ring...

"Where the hell is my Space Ring!"
