I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 188: Convincing

Chapter 188: Convincing

After hearing Aunt Aoba's story, Yuga was left speechless. Who would have thought that such a melodramatic story could happen right before his eyes?

Meanwhile, Sena was still in shock from the astonishing revelation. He sat there with a vacant expression, as if his soul had been drained from his body.

Never in his wildest dreams did Sena imagine that the parents who had raised him for over a decade were not his biological parents. To make matters worse, his father turned out to be a scoundrel who had caused his family's downfall.

His mother, grandparents, all had died because of his biological father.

Finally, Sena understood why his mother had persistently opposed his desire to become a Trainer. She feared that he would follow in his biological father's footsteps.

Sena had always known about his uncle and aunt, but his parents had never mentioned them, except for the annual visits to pay respects to his late aunt. Little did he know that his aunt was actually his biological mother.

"Sena, listen to your mother. Can we go back home? Can't you give up being a Trainer?" Aunt Aoba delicately suggested, aware that Sena was surely suffering.

Hearing his aunt's words, Sena wiped away his tears, walked over, and hugged her, saying, "Mom, thank you for taking care of me all these years, along with Dad. But I'm determined to become a Trainer!"

However, hearing Sena's stubbornness, Aunt Aoba pushed him away and cried out uncontrollably, "Why are you so unyielding? Do you also want to end up like your father, tearing this family apart?"

Sena stumbled and fell to the ground due to Aunt Aoba's shove. Seeing this, she wanted to help him up, but her anger stopped her, and she wiped her tears in secret.

"Mom, in the past, I wanted to be a Trainer because I love Pokémon. But now, I want to find that person!" Sena, seated on the ground, said resolutely.

Upon hearing Sena's words, Aunt Aoba wiped her tears and, with a tone less firm, said, "Even if you find him, what then? Over a decade has passed, and he hasn't returned once. Who knows if he's even alive?"

"Whether he's alive or not, I want to find him! He owes this family an explanation, owes an explanation to my deceased mother, and owes you all an explanation."

"We don't need an explanation from him. Your mother doesn't need one either. For all these years, we've treated him as if he never existed. Why? It's because we hoped you could grow up peacefully, live your life quietly, not for some explanation he might give us." Aunt Aoba said these words while wiping her tears.

"But..." Sena tried to say something, only to be interrupted by Aunt Aoba.

"Don't 'buts.' Regardless of anything, I won't allow you to become a Trainer!" Aunt Aoba's resolve remained unshaken.

At this moment, Yuga felt it was time to intervene. The longer this went on, the more likely his employees would be forced to log off.

"Aunt Aoba, I believe not everyone is like Sena's biological father. After all, you've raised Sena yourself. Do you really not understand his character?" Yuga tried to reason.

Aunt Aoba didn't react to Yuga's words, appearing steadfast in her stance.

"Mom..." Sena still attempted to struggle.

Yuga pondered for a moment and then said, "Aunt Aoba, not letting Sena become a Trainer is probably because you're afraid he'll end up destitute and unable to support himself. Additionally, you're afraid he'll follow in his father's footsteps and never return.

How about this? I promise you, no matter what happens, I'll keep a job open for Sena here. This way, you won't have to worry about his livelihood. The wages here are much higher than what you earn selling vegetables at the market."

Furthermore, I will personally keep an eye on Sena, ensuring he doesn't stray down the wrong path. I am a Trainer myself, and as you can see, I'm doing quite well. Not all Trainers end up like Sena's father."

"But you're not just a Trainer, you're also a Pokémon Day Care owner. Of course, you wouldn't worry about going hungry," Aunt Aoba retorted with a touch of sarcasm.

"Yes, that's true. I'm both a Trainer and a Pokémon Day Care owner. So, I'm not afraid of going hungry, and Sena could work as a salesperson at the Day Care. He won't go hungry either," Yuga cleverly suggested.

"Sena's father ended up that way because he was too obsessed. There's someone in my shop who's not suitable to be a Trainer, just like him. She switched to being a Breeder, and isn't she doing well now?" Yuga continued.

"As long as Sena doesn't make the same mistakes, and if he realizes he's not cut out to be a Trainer, he can change his class immediately. Then there won't be any issues, right?"

"Yeah, that's right. Our boss is right. I definitely won't make the same mistakes. Our boss will supervise me," Sena responded eagerly, echoing Yuga's words.

Hearing Yuga's reasoning, Aunt Aoba's expression finally softened a bit.

After a brief contemplation, Aunt Aoba said, "I'll talk to his father about this."

"Really?" Sena asked, delighted.

In fact, Sena's father wasn't against his son becoming a Trainer. Otherwise, Sena wouldn't have had the opportunity to attend Trainer School for a few years.

Although his older brother's identity as a Trainer had brought so much pain to the family and had made him resent the occupation, over a decade had passed, and he'd started to understand.

From start to finish, it wasn't the Trainer profession that was wrong, but rather his brother's stubbornness.

With so many Trainers in the world, many for various reasons gave up being Trainers without wreaking havoc on their families. Why was his brother the only one who had torn their family apart? Wasn't it because his brother didn't have the sense to abandon that path?

After Aunt Aoba left, Yuga let out a sigh of relief.

"Boss, thank you," Sena said gratefully. If it wasn't for Yuga, he wouldn't have been able to handle his mother.

Yuga waved his hand nonchalantly and said, "Well, I didn't want my newly hired employee to quit after just a couple of days. What would that say about me?"

After a moment of thought, Yuga added, "When you get off work, make sure to have a good conversation with your parents. You're a family; there's nothing that can't be resolved through communication."

"Got it!" Sena nodded.

"Get back to work. Don't let today's events affect your mood. Regardless of who your biological father is, you and Aunt Aoba's family are the closest. No one can change that fact.

As for searching for your biological father, I think you should just go with the flow. If he's meant to be a part of your life, he'll naturally appear. If he doesn't, consider it as if you never knew he existed. Your mission is exactly what Aunt Aoba said: to live peacefully. That way, you won't disappoint them after all the hard work they put into raising you."

With a final piece of advice, Yuga successfully lifted Sena's spirits. After hearing Yuga's words, Sena's tense expression finally relaxed somewhat, and he returned to work.
