Chapter 105: Florges

Chapter 105: Florges

After pondering these matters, Yuga called over Floette, who was diligently practicing using Misty Terrain.

Floette gazed at Yuga with a quizzical expression, not quite understanding why her Trainer had summoned her.

Addressing the perplexed Floette, Yuga asked, "Floette, would you like to evolve into Florges?"

Upon hearing Yuga's words, Floette immediately spun around in the air in excitement, then nodded eagerly.

Floette had long anticipated the prospect of evolving into the elegant and mature Florges.

Watching Floette's elated expression, Yuga shook his head with a smile. He then retrieved a top-quality Shiny Stone that had been rewarded by the system earlier and handed it to Floette.

Floette eagerly accepted the Shiny Stone from Yuga's hand.

The moment Floette's hand touched the Shiny Stone, a white energy resembling a soft ribbon spiraled up her arm. Gradually enveloping her entire body, it radiated a warm sensation.

As the light of evolution surged, Floette descended from the sky onto the grass below. Her form began to elongate, and her arms stretched out. In no time, her height was nearly on par with Yuga's.

With a resounding "pop," the dissipating light of evolution revealed a completely new Pokémon before Yuga.

Slim, deep green body, slender white arms, and above her neck, a deep blue Florgesl tuft that exuded a beautiful and graceful aura.

"Florges!"

"Congratulations, Florges. I look forward to learning from you."

Florges had five color variations: red, yellow, blue, white, and orange. This was based on the color of the Fairy Flower she held prior to evolution. Yuga's Florges was of the blue variation.

Just as the system explained about the top-quality Shiny Stone, it indeed had a chance to alter a Pokémon's Qualification after use. After evolution, Floette's Qualification smoothly shifted from green to blue.

Following her evolution, Florges not only learned Misty Terrain but also mastered the previously designated Moonblast. She even gained an additional move, Flower Shield. Truly a delightful development.

After evolving into Florges, the once lively and cute demeanor had transformed. In its place was a regal aura akin to that of a queen.

Turning to the newly evolved Florges, Yuga said, "Let's try out your new skills."

"Florges."

Florges let out a soft call and then nodded. Yuga only now noticed that her once cute voice had matured into a sophisticated tone.

Yuga suggested, "Let's start with Moonblast."

"Florges," replied Florges.

With a gentle leap, a bright crescent moon materialized behind Florges. Silver moonlight coalesced into a sphere in front of her chest, which she flung outward with force.

Following Florges's toss, the sphere exploded with a powerful blast, leaving behind a substantial crater on the previously pristine grass.

The potency of Moonblast was undeniably impressive. Despite Florges's recent acquisition of the move, the sizable crater that lay before them spoke volumes about its effectiveness.

"The power of Moonblast is quite remarkable. Let's try Grassy Terrain now," Yuga suggested.

"Florges," responded Florges.

After nodding, Florges walked towards the flower field and gestured for Yuga to follow.

Yuga found himself somewhat puzzled. Weren't they supposed to use Grassy Terrain? Where were they heading?

In the middle of the flower field, Florges closed her eyes and clasped her hands together on her chest. A bright green halo emerged around her, quickly expanding outward to encompass the entire flower field.

Wherever the aquamarine halo spread, all plants extended their branches and leaves. Buds that were once tightly closed unfurled into fully blossomed petals. The already vibrant flowers became even more alluring, exuding a fragrant grassy aroma that Yuga could sense even from a distance.

Not only was Yuga awestruck by the breathtaking sight, but all the Pokémon practicing their skills were also captivated. They halted their activities and stared in astonishment at the enchanting Florges amidst the blossoms.

Indeed, even though not a Grass-type Pokémon, Florges's command over the Grass-type move was truly impressive.

The Pokémon within the Ecopark noticed Floette's evolution into Florges and rushed over to offer their blessings. Florges was enveloped by the crowd of well-wishers, yet she remained dignified and graceful. It was a far cry from her more spirited Floette days.

Vulpix and Murkrow, both requiring evolution stones to evolve, gave Yuga a rather intense glare upon witnessing Floette's evolution. Yet, Yuga lacked both a Fire Stone and a Dusk Stone, leaving him to ignore their gaze.

Once the Pokémon dispersed from around Florges, Yuga could continue testing her new abilities alongside her.

Yuga said, "Now it's time for our main event, Florges. Are you ready?"

Florges nodded resolutely, saying, "Florges, Florges."

With her eyes closed, Florges spread her arms and began to communicate with the surrounding Fairy-type energy using a method given to her by an Audino.

Soon, a hint of pink mist started to rise around Florges. Gradually increasing in volume, the mist began to twirl and rise, ultimately forming a circular area composed of pink hues around Florges.

Even with her eyes closed, Florges keenly sensed the vibrant Fairy-type energy swirling around her. Slowly opening her eyes, she exclaimed:

"Florges, Florges, Florges!"

Joyfully shouting towards Yuga, it was as if she had reverted back to her Floette days.

Yuga hugged Florges with a smile and congratulated her, "Congratulations, Florges. You've finally mastered Misty Terrain."

Though Florges's version of Misty Terrain was much smaller in scale and less potent than that Audino's, the successful execution marked significant progress.

Afterwards, Yuga considered and advised Florges, "Florges, try to sense the Fairy-type energy within Misty Terrain and see if you can manipulate it."

Taking heed of Yuga's suggestion, Florges closed her eyes to sense the active Fairy-type energy surrounding her.

She quickly discovered that although the vibrant Fairy-type energy was easy to communicate with, it stubbornly refused to be controlled. Even when she attempted to manipulate a small thread of it, the energy remained unyielding.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts, Florges opened her eyes and shook her head in disappointment.

Observing Florges's struggle, Yuga wasn't surprised in the least. Such challenges were expected, but it was important to make an attempt. Only then could they find a breakthrough.

Yuga reassured, "It's alright. These challenges were expected. We'll think of other ways in the future. There's always a way to make progress."

Florges nodded in understanding.
