I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 235: Hatching the Cocoon

Chapter 235: Hatching the Cocoon

Elliot got back to his room, walking past through his friends who gave him weird looks.

"I'm definitely not hiding something," Elliot chuckled and ran upstairs.

"We know you're hiding something!" Ed yelled from downstairs. "You're not great at keeping secrets, Elliot!"

He only shook his head and continued to his room. Locking the door behind him again, he looked for the perfect spot to place the branch.

"Okay, I got the branch," Elliot sighed. "How do I do this?"

'Place the cocoon in the middle of the branch, there are two strings of sticky rope-like parts of the cocoon. Use that,' Irus instructed.

"There you are," Elliot whispered. "Where have you been?"

'Blocked,' Irus simply replied. 'The Manual is sh*tting with me. My patience is wearing thin.'

Elliot pursed his lips and shrugged. He took out the Twilight Cocoon and inspected it. It was red in color, about the size of his fist. The body of the cocoon had marks in them, curves ans runes that he haven't seen before.

It looked like they were similar to the glyphs he daw with Irus's magic symbols. The ones written on the shapes.

He looked at the top portion and saw two protruding tips. Elliot pulled one and gasped when it was like a sticky thread. It was just like what Irus told him.

Elliot ran to his sword and used it to bore a small hole in the corner of his room. He was going to apologize to the owner and pay him soon, but for how, he has to figure out how the Twilight Cocoon works.

When the hole was made, Elliot place the Y-shaped branch there, making sure it was steadby before he attached the Twilight Cocoon in. One string in one end and the other string on the other end.

When he successfully placed the item, it glowed and a new panel appeared in his Console.

[ Twilight Cocoon ]

[ Twilight Brew required to hatch: 0/10 ]

"I needed ten?!" Elliot gasped and scoffed. Just when he thought he had enough Twilight Brew, he was still far back. He was about to complain when his Console bursted with notifications.

'New quest [ Adamant Jade ] available.'

'New quest [ The Library of Solaguer ] available.'

'New quest [ Antique Mirror ] available.'

He sprung from his seat on the floor when he saw that he was bombarded with messages. Elliot was reluctant to open them since they looked unfamiliar.

"Why the rush?" Elliot smirked. "Tell me, The Manual. Why are you rushing?"

One by one, the quests disappeared. Elliot gasped again, his mouth unable to form words in shock.

"I'm just kidding!" Elliot yelled. "I'm just kidding. What the hell."

From seven quests, only the first three were left. Elliot had to stop himself from pulling out all the hair on his head, settling on just cursing himself.

"Why are you so mean to me?" Elliot grunted. "I guess I have no choice then. I'll let you do it your way."

Elliot fell to the floor with a heavy sigh. He rolled on the wooden floor, sighing all the way.

"Oh." He sat up when he realized he already have the three brews the cocoon needed. He crawled over to it and took out one of the containers. "Okay, Irus? Are you there?"

He waited for a couple of seconds, sighing after he realized that he was alone now. He reached his hand out to the cocoon. The liquid from the container lit up with its silvery color, shimmering like glitter under the sunlight.

"Woah," was all Elliot could whisper before the bright light enveloped the entire room. It was like a flash of lightning was contained and blew up inside room, but was unable to reach outside.

Elliot blinked a couple of times and saw that his hand was empty. The container he was holding just now was gone.

[ Twilight Cocoon ]

[ Twilight Brew required to hatch: 1/10 ]

Elliot clapped his hands in amusement after seeing his progress. He took out the second brew and placed it just like how he did before.

'Twilight Cocoon has an 8 hour cooldown before it can absorb another Twilight Brew.'

He was one step away from slamming his head on the floor. He could only sigh, returning the container back in his Inventory and checking out the quests instead.

The first one looked like he was going to look for a gem based on the title. After all, the titles of the quests weren't as complicated as the titles in actual quests.

[ Adamant Jade

Reward: Twilight Brew

// An exquisite gem collector from Solaguer has a precious gem called the Adamant Jade. Get the gem and place it in your Inventory. ]

Elliot had to take a deep breathe after reading the instructions. Solaguer was almost one and a half times as big as Alorde. Even in Alorde, it would be hard to look for just any gem collector. How much would it take for him to find one here?

He decided to check on the other ones in case they were easier. He needed options right now. He still has sixteen hours until he could put the third brew in, that's plenty of time.

[ The Library of Solaguer

Reward: Twilight Brew

// Inside the Library of Solaguer lies a phrase that holds a part of the history of the Seven Deathly Sins. Find the book. ]

[ Antique Mirror

Reward: Twilight Brew

// Among many things the oldest of the antique stores in Alorde holds, is a giant mirror that lets you take a glimpse of the past. It may set you free. ]

Among the quests, the easiest one had to be the third one. If he was only going to find an old mirror, it will be easy.

Antique stores do not hold on to mirrors that much. They believe that mirrors are the winows to the past and great misfortunes. As much as possible for them, they want to take out all the antique mirrors from their stores.

"It's settled then," Elliot took his sword and strapped his scabbard in. "I'll find that store."
