I Hate Systems

Chapter 132: Hitting His Growth Limit

Chapter 132: Hitting His Growth Limit

“So, it died in the end. That was pretty quick,” Remaining in the System World, the Coincidental Luck System muttered, connecting to the Astral Network as it searched for the group pertaining to the Slave Harem System, muttering after seeing that it had disappeared, “This Secret Society is…pretty powerful.”

It then noticed the other Systems part of the same genre as the Slave Harem System making a fuss upon noticing its disappearance, laughing as it severed its connection to the Astral Network, “I guess I should prepare some items necessary for this trade to happen.”

“Phew, it’s done.” Compass Carburettor sighed in relief, getting up to see that he was lying on a bed, all dressed up now. When he tried to get up, he felt weak while his muscles were sore, a sign that he hadn’t moved them for long, “How long was I out?”

“Lord Spirit, you’ve been unconscious for a month now,” Hekatra said, looking weary, sporting large dark circles under her eyes. It was apparent that she had been exhausted beyond her limit.

Only now did Compass Carburettor notice that the Mental Energy he had been receiving from those in the Mohart Dungeon had dropped down to a trickle that it was even below the amount a single person could produce. And this was the collective whole of all the Secret Society members present in Mohart Dungeon.

It was apparent that they had been overtaxed until their minds were exhausted completely. Sighing, Compass Carburettor transmitted a message to everyone, “Everyone, our plan is a resounding success. We managed to defeat the Slave Harem System. Now, get some rest. You’ve earned it.”

Right as he spoke, Hekatra dropped to the floor, fainting immediately. Compass Carburettor barely managed to get up, trembling as he lifted her and placed her on the bed, allowing her to rest, ‘If even she ended up in such an exhaustive state, I can’t even imagine how exhausted the other members are. They’ve done spectacularly.’

As he too wasn’t in a state where he could move, Compass Carburettor rested, feeling that his mind too was in a state of intense strain. After all, he had been battling the Slave Harem System constantly all along. A single slip up would have meant its freedom, allowing it to gain control of his body, making everything he did until now end up benefiting it.

As for himself, death was a guarantee.

‘Thankfully, it proceeded without a hiccup.’ Compass Carburettor sighed in relief, closing his eyes as he took some rest, only getting up after almost a day had passed. Even though he was feeling hungry, since Hekatra hadn’t gotten up, and since he was feeling weak, all he could do was remain on the bed.

After digesting all the information he obtained, Compass Carburettor nodded, looking at his status.

[Name: Compass Carburettor, Domino Plottopia]

[Race: Haggon (Spirit)]

[Physique: Health (Level 10), Strength (Level 10), Dexterity (Level 10), Stamina (Level 10), Intelligence (Level 10), Cognition (Level 10), Natural Recovery (Level 10), Five Senses (Level 10), Resting (Level 10)]

[Personal Fragment: Anthozoa, Secret Society]

[Arms: 6]

[Arms: Slave Harem, Body Resurgence (Level 1), Minor Healing (Level 1), Intoxicating Fragrance (Level 1), Overdrive (Level 1)]

[Darlac: 221]

‘My race is a Haggon. I’m no longer a human.’ He sighed, thinking, ‘Thankfully, the form that’s recorded as a Spirit is my human form. So, I can still retain my human appearance as a Spirit. And, the same would be applied to all members of Secret Society too.’

“Now that Darlac is also reflected on my status, it’s apparent that this power has become mine thanks to Secret Society.” He laughed, “So, I can say with assurance that I would retain this power even after returning to the System World or when I enter other worlds.”

“And now comes the hard part,” He sighed, looking at the Arms, thinking, ‘I have Slave Harem as an Arm. There are many complications regarding this. I’ll think about it later. As for the remainder, it seems all the Skills Regriel possessed have been occupied in my Arms as System Fragments. But…’

He understood the gist of things, meditating as he condensed the volume of information his brain processed, ‘Suppose he had possessed around 10 Skills, I cannot obtain them all, since I only have 6 Arms. So, while refining him for System Fragments, I would have to select the abilities I am planning to retain. As for the rest, they’ll simply dissipate off as energy since they aren’t the Slave Harem System’s abilities in the first place.’

‘Still, they are just one-off use System Fragments. But, since I obtained the entirety of them, unlike before, it means I can use them to their full potential.’ Compass Carburettor thought, ‘At present, they are all at Level 1. But, I can supply Mental Energy to them to increase their levels until their maximum capacity. Considering this Overdrive Skill, I can level it up to Level 8, which seems to be at what level the Slave Harem System purchased it at.’

‘All these System Fragments would prove useful for my growth.’ He then focused on the final System Fragment, the fruits of his labour, ‘Slave Harem!’

At present, it was retained in his body as a concept. It wasn’t a power he could use yet, after all, there were two choices that he could take to use it. ‘The first choice is to obtain this ability for myself. This way, it would become a Core Skill that I can use as one of my abilities. But, there are two disadvantages to this. First, I can only activate it by using Mental Energy. But, my Mental Energy reserves aren’t much as there is a limit to what I can contain in my Mental Energy Form.’

He recalled how his Mental Energy Form was on the verge of shattering just from the Mental Energy stream generated by the Dungeon Boss. And upon getting a lot of knowledge once he obtained Slave Harem, he understood that unless he became a True System Slayer, this was his limit.

He wouldn’t be able to grow any further. As a System Slayer, he had already reached his limit.
