I Hate Systems

Chapter 1088 Six Cores Of Secret Society

Eugene, aged 44, a middle-aged man with blazing red hair, nicknamed the Flame Sword during his youth. Now, he rose to attain the highest position in the world, becoming the leader of the Adventure Guild.

He was one of the six SSS-Rank Adventurers in the world. The rest weren't adventurers, but in terms of rank, they were equivalent to an SSS-Rank Adventurer.

Currently, Eugene was seated in his room in a daze, going through the memories inherited from Secret Society, one that depicted the Secret Society creator's past. It proved to be a valuable experience, especially since they were about to use the same powers to hunt Systems.

Eugene closed his eyes, sensing the locations of the remaining Secret Society members through telepathy, one of the six core powers every Secret Society member had. He was surprised immediately after, "All six of us are members."

But that wasn't all. Eugene was stupefied when even the number one enemy of all races in their world, the Demon Lord too was a member of Secret Society. "Man, that's hard to stomach."

[Eugene, does this make sense to you? Even the Demon Lord is a member.]

One of the six contacted him through telepathy, causing Eugene to feel a headache as he replied.

[It just means the Systems are that dangerous. I always had my suspicions, you see, about those hot-blooded youngsters that grew at an inconceivable rate. Their powers never made sense, but they existed.]

He then sighed, intending to focus on himself as he excused himself, cutting off all messages through telepathy.

[Anyway, just think of the Demon Lord being one of us as a good thing. We can avoid a lot of bloodshed and focus on development.]

"So, that's telepathy." Once he shut off all communication, he sighed in wonder. The one that had contacted him was located in a country two months away on a carriage. Even a messenger bird took a week to reach there, since the message had to be intercepted and relayed by transceiver stations located between the two places. The distance couldn't be covered by a single messenger bird.

But now, he could communicate over such a distance as if it didn't matter and casually chat with the other party as if they were seated next to each other. It collapsed his world look.

This was just one of the six core powers granted by Secret Society—Telepathy.

Eugene then focused on his body, observing his stamina condense into a strange energy form that could be quantised. He stared at his palm and clenched it lightly, observing the strange energy condense into his hand to become a sword.

The sword resembled the weapon he wielded all his life, but it had no weight or fiery mana. It was weightless but incomparably robust. It was a tad better than his prized weapon, impressing him.

What was even better was that at a thought, the yellowish-white sword expanded in length, instantly. Its structural integrity remained unaffected as Eugene varied its length, breadth, handle size, etc.

It wasn't just this as he could also feel another mysterious power lurking within him. And upon referring to the inherited memories, he said in amazement, "So that second power is that of a Puppeteer."

This was the second core power of Secret Society—Darlac Transcendence!

Anyone that became a member instantly gained the power of Transcendence that those in the Darble World attained. This was without a Darlac limitation though.

In the Darble World, only those that reached the peak Darlac accumulation of their race achieved Transcendence.

But here, all members possessed the powers of Transcendence, even if they hadn't attained peak Darlac capacity.

Darlac Transcendence allowed the members to wield authority over both the Warrior and Puppeteer paths. They could even fuse it to create their unique power.

Moreover, as long as they train diligently and continue raising their stamina, their Darlac values would eventually surpass racial limitations. After all, the same race had different limitations in different worlds.

And hence, thanks to its universality nature, the members didn't have any theoretical limit. Of course, it'll become progressively difficult to accumulate more Darlac after a certain point. It would depend on their innovation to accumulate further.

Eugene inhaled a long breath as he got up and undressed, watching his body instantly morph into a humanoid giant that was covered with horns.

A greyish-brown skin with a gradient of green towards the insides, tougher than steel, with spikes jutting out of the elbows, and a wide pair of jaws. It was a monstrous creature, six metres in height, boasting weight close to ten tonnes.

Its eyesight was exceptionally sharp, on part with a bird while despite the weight, the monster was able to move faster than a nimble human, allowing it to explode with tremendous power. And most of all was its infamous regenerative power.

Eugene calmed down and stabbed his elbow horn into the side of his stomach, observing that he hardly felt any pain, 'So, this creature's sensitivity to pain is minimal as stated.'

Moreover, once he pulled out the horn, the wound regenerated in a matter of seconds. 'So, this is the form the creator attained towards the end of his journey.'

Haggon!

This was the third core power of Secret Society—Haggon Form.

It allowed one to become a Haggon and wield all its powers. Moreover, by taking advantage of a Haggon's robust physique, Eugene could ingest any hydrocarbon, allowing him to build up and recover his Darlac quickly.

Moreover, even if he was killed in his human form, he would only revert to becoming a Haggon. By consuming 100 Darlac, he could take on a human form once again, allowing him to cheat death as he pleased.

By referencing how expertly Compass Carburettor relied upon this power mechanic to cheat death and fool his opponents time and again, Eugene became excited.

After all, if System Hosts were as absurd as stated, he would need such unfair powers to stand on par and hunt them.

Speaking of absurd, Eugene chuckled as he focused on the fourth core power of Secret Society, "This is the definition of absurdity."

After all, it was a power Compass Carburettor had attained after much difficulty in the past, but one that allowed him to scheme and succeed even against the entire genre of Luck Systems.

Warble!
