Chapter 1032 Next Is The Rat
Boom!
Guns blazed as swords clashed. Two sides rushed at each other violently, having no similarities other than being born in the same world. One side were martial artists, wielding superhuman powers, while on the other side were soldiers, guns blazing.
A soldier glared at the enemies as he looked around before quickly rushing towards a patch of trees. He closed his eyes and opened them, expressing staunch determination as he condensed a flamethrower, pressing the trigger to unleash a sea of fire, causing the thicket of trees to burn.
The wind blew in the direction of the martial artists' camp, and hence, the fire spread towards them, placing them in a precarious situation.
Thud!
The soldier collapsed to the ground weakly, having lost almost a dozen kilograms of weight, having expended all the muscle mass he had stored up. Just as he stared at the fire in contentment, intense pain reverberated all across his chest, causing him to clutch it before collapsing soon enough.
Heart Attack!
Rapidly expending his body mass caused his heart to fail its function. And in such battle conditions, without anyone to arrive at his immediate aid, he died.
Soldiers were dropping like flies and hence, they didn't have the capacity to look after their own.
The condition was similar on the side of the martial artists too. Bullets had shredded apart quite a lot of them.
"Are they done?" A long-bearded man asked, staring at a group of subordinates.
"Yes!" One of them said as he expended all his Internal Energy and clapped aloud, causing the casket before him to open as a veiled entity walked out.
The entity seemed to be made from bronze, only suffering minor dents as it rushed into the sea of fire. It extended its arms, causing two long blades to extend, with each spanning two metres in length.
Corpse Puppet!
When the brutal technologically-equipped enemy appeared, the martial artists from both the orthodox and unorthodox faction joined hands, forced to work together. They also pooled their resources together and recovered all the forbidden and banned manuals, collectively seeking to improve them and then taught their members the same.
One such forbidden art was to refine corpse puppets. A corpse puppet was only as strong as the source material.
And in this war where there was no lack of corpses, this forbidden art truly shined. Moreover, a group of them also experimented on the soldiers and created a bronze variant that was able to create armour and equip itself with massive blades that it could freely manipulate the size of.
Through them, the martial artists manned a variety of sword and blade arts, drawing arcs of blood of the soldiers.
Boom!
Grenades were launched as even bombs exploded. The war was absolutely brutal.
The CC Seed introduced into a Murim World by Martial was the cause of this disaster. Of course, this wasn't introduced by Martial. He would never intend to see something like this that would pretty much cripple the development of the world.
Moreover, he had only released it into one world to experiment and see how it pans out. Unfortunately for him, until the end, he was just a pawn.
The moment he was sucked into Faith Grounds, Zaira casually increased her influence in the Murim Worlds and rapidly dropped the CC Seed into the people dissatisfied with martial artists in large numbers.
Orchards bloomed as a result, immediately waging a war against the martial artists. Originally, the Murim Worlds were repeatedly attempting to birth another Martial. The moment that happens, Zaira's plans would be halted.
And hence, she intended to cripple their foundation before that. Simultaneously, in all the Murim Worlds, war erupted as the foundation of these worlds began to cripple. And hence, the essence—laws—of the respective worlds focused on recovery.
A week later, as the battle's intensity reached a new zenith, Zaira loomed over a Murim World and stared at it with a predatory gaze, "You've become weak enough."
Core Skill—Regression!
Core Skill—Reincarnation!
Core Skill—Transmigration!
Multiverse Concept—Time!
Through the unified activation of all three Core Skills, Zaira unleashed the power of time on all the Murim Worlds. Instantly, their timelines shattered as all the natives crumbled into powder.
The concentrated time of the Murim Worlds generated as a result flowed into their representative—Martial.
And since his foundation was absorbed by Faith Grounds to fuel itself, when this power tried to funnel into him, Faith Grounds intercepted that too. Unfortunately for Faith Grounds, Zaira had taken measures.
Even if she couldn't discover the location of Faith Grounds, it didn't matter, for the power of time would reach its intended target. And it did, fooling Tell-Tale to dilate the time flow of the Faith Grounds.
As a result, Zaira managed to buy more than enough time to finish all her plans. Whether it was Arnark or Compass Carburettor, none could hinder her growth now. 'This only leaves the rat. But without any other variables, I can deal with him.'
With Arnark and Compass Carburettor out of the picture, Zaira finally focused on the entity that had been acting as a wolf with sheep's clothing. No, he was more of a hyena instead, always taking advantage of an opportunity to better himself.
Slayer!
The loose end that was always an itch on her back that she couldn't reach. One that had outlived his usefulness and had instead become a rat that was gradually making more and more holes in the house—Race of Systems—that she had created for herself.
Zaira intended to instantly strike Slayer, but she calmed herself down, 'At this moment, I don't even have anyone to reinforce me. All Grade 3 Systems are busy gathering Mental Energy to support the war with Mascot. Reincarnation and Transmigration are still locked in a battle with Mystique and Technocraft. Regression hasn't healed from using its Core Skill Manifestation yet. And bringing any Grade 2 System would just act as fuel for Slayer instead.'
"If Slayer has some scheme in place, which he might definitely have, I might be implicated instead." She muttered slowly, thinking for a moment before asking, "Son, do you have a good read on Slayer? Will I achieve my objective if I were to attack him now?"
"No, you'll fail." Came the reply as the boy insisting on being called Arnark appeared, his expression playful, "Slayer's doing something major. If he were to succeed, he'll eventually devour us all."
"He wishes to gain authority to disrupt and devour us."
