Chapter 632: Half Blood Prince Premier-5
"Alright, Next question." The anchor promptly asked the staff to move on.
" Hello, I am from NY Reports and I wanted to ask you. What do you think the harry potter franchise's effect on younger generation? Do you think it's good or bad? I am asking because with the rise of internet movies have became more prevalent which also led to massive popularity boost for everyone involved in it."
" I don't get what are you trying to ask me. These are movies especially made for them, of course I feel happy that everyone loves each new installment but that's more tantamount to the writer than us. Everyone should have a get away place where they could simply relax and enjoy themselves living alongside fantasy characters. Does that mean they have to sit infront of the screen all the time?
No but I think it's a net good for society." Samuel felt a bit off but he did his best answering his question.
"I am sorry." The reporter sat down, anyone could see he was sweating profusely and that was saying something because the weather was cold. There was no reason for him to be nervous or scared asking simple questions.
Samuel answered several more questions before the microphone was handed to someone suspicious. He could tell that there was something off about him from the get go and when he opened his mouth Samuel knew his suspicions were true.
" I just wanted to ask you why do you have to hit someone publicly and try to defame him by making staged videos. Did you have to go that far?" He said it with a stone cold face. The anchor wanted to stop Samuel from answering the question but he went ahead and started speaking.
" Are you talking about the Paris incident or me getting arrested?"
" Yes."
" How do you know that the video is fake?"
" Isn't it obvious? You got locked up for the entire day and somehow a miraculous tape shows up which could be best described as shaky and out of focus. I also dig into the victim's past, he was a respectable host and a well known media personality but suddenly he lost everything and got fired from the job.
Along with his hesitation to speak in public or even comment anything about that incident, it can't be more fishy than that!"
" Maybe he has a guilty conscious? Beside, I don't know what video you are talking about. What my team released was a clear video from the same camera that they used for interviewing. Moving on to your question about me being excessive, I can't just sit around and watch that bastard berate a shy girl with saying and doing things that could be best described as sexual harassments.
I will do the same thing if I am presented with similar events in future." Samuel shut down his every argument making him rooted in spot.
" Alright, everyone. He was just being detained not charged for anything. You can confirm it from the statement of police department and some of senior officials in French government." the anchor added more facts and moved to take the next question.
" Hello, I just wanted to ask you about a similar video that went viral few days after that incident. It is a little blurry but have you been around the 13th arrondissement around the time of Paris attacks? The french government has been covering it up associating it with gang violence but the on ground people have different view about it. Do you happen to know anything about it?
I am only asking you because you were quite close to where it all happened?" The reporter who was wearing a mask asked with his husky voice.
Samuel looked at him, his baggy suit that hid his well built physique and his recognizable european accent. Even the way he stood up screamed military trained. There was no way he wouldn't be able to connect the dots, it's them!
No one else had any info about what really transpired in Paris. Even the french government didn't know that's how thoroughly Samuel and his team cleaned up after themselves. They were in and out of the impact zone before being surrounded but the only piece of evidence that remained was the video of him chasing down the man trying to escape with Elise.
It was impossible for anyone to know about it other than the same people that orchestrated the whole thing. Samuel really wanted to jump down and grab the man for questioning but he held back and responded calmly.
" I know what video you are referring to but it's too blurry to make out who they were. About the event all I can say that it was a tragedy. No matter who were behind it, many civilian lives were lost which was completely unnecessary.
It seemed to be a normal thing for normal people to often caught in crossfire and I hope the government is doing what's best of their country." Samuel paused for a second hoping the man interjected him but he stood there watching.
" After my arrest, I was in the hotel the whole time trying to see if I was free to fly back here. Many people saw me wandering around so I don't think I was anywhere near that area. The question of me knowing anything about it, I know what anyone else knows about it. The first time I heard about it was when I landed back here."
" That's strange there are many photos of you enjoying the scenery that day in Paris. I am sure you would hear about it sooner since the whole country shut down that day. How you even manage to find a plane back home?"
" What's the name of your publication? I don't know what you are trying to ask him." The anchor decided to intervene.
" Thank you for answering my question." The man simply handed the microphone to the staff and sat down.
Other journalist were left scratching their heads because of this bizarre incident but few of them also took note. It was obvious that man was implying a connection between Samuel and that incident which sounded strange at first but they were a curious bunch. If there was something, they were going to find it.
Rest of the interview went smoothly without any awkward questions. Samuel answered them diligently but kept looking at the man occasionally so that he couldn't escape. If he was connected to them, Samuel wanted to ask his team to apprehend him.
As soon as the interview was over, Samuel rushed backstage and gave his orders to find that man. He gave them his full description along with general build. There was no way they wouldn't be able to catch him.
He kept his location on his life radar but with so many people in the vicinity it was hard for him to focus on one single individual. Samuel felt him moving outside hiding himself among the crowds, he promptly told his team his location from the inside. He was beginning to lose his signal but that didn't mean he could escape from his team.
Just when he though the man would be successfully caught he gave his team the slip and escaped. He got the news as he walked inside the theater and tried to find him again but there was no way for him to pinpoint his location again.
After calming himself down with a long sigh, he headed inside to meet Kate who was waiting for him.
