Chapter 215: Build soul & fuse
It didn't take long before the lava golem finally collapsed, its massive body falling into the lava pool, splashing hot liquid in all directions. From the remains of its body, a round orb made of lava stone floated up.
(Magma Fury Core - Soul B)
When used, this item boosts the user's attack power, channeling the lava golem's rage to unleash devastating fire-based attacks.
- Hellwave: Increases the user's attack power by 200% for 10 seconds. During this time, each attack has a chance to burn the enemy, inflicting fire damage over time.
- Cooldown: 3 minutes
"Ah... so the dropped item matches the soul guardian of the Soul Gate," Lein murmured thoughtfully.
Lein recalled obtaining the "Hard Shell" after defeating the turtle, which had extraordinary defensive abilities. Now, after defeating the Lava Golem, which mastered fire attacks, he received the "Magma Fury Core." A pattern seemed to emerge in his mind, as if each guardian passed on its unique ability through the soul item it left behind.
After examining the item for a moment, Lein stored it in his spatial ring. He looked up, gazing at the sky, which glowed with a fiery red hue, as if waiting for something.
Still waiting in silence, Lein finally shouted loudly, "Hey, lousy system... where are you?"
Lein's loud voice broke the silence, and a few seconds later, the familiar system notification echoed.
[Successfully defeated Lava Golem's soul, you will be transferred in 1 minute]
"Hm... if only you were human..." Lein gritted his teeth, annoyed with the system's cold behavior. He took a deep breath, trying to stay patient, and waited for the minute to pass.
When the time expired, Lein felt his body pulled by an invisible force, and in an instant, he reappeared on a vast grassland. In front of him stood the magnificent Soul Gate portal, emitting a soft, glowing light. Lein glanced toward the area where the lava golem's Soul Gate had been, only to find it completely gone, as if it had never existed.
"Vanished, huh..." Lein muttered, slightly disappointed. Then, his attention shifted to a large orb in the distance, radiating a mysterious aura.
"Alright... I'm curious how soul construction works," Lein said, stepping toward the soul construct orb not far away.
From a distance, the object appeared like a large glass sphere containing swirling white smoke, creating a mystical and mysterious sensation. The closer Lein stepped, the more he felt as if he were approaching something arcane. Finally, he stood right in front of it, his eyes narrowing as he observed the panel that emerged from the sphere.
(Soul Construction Orb)
Please insert soul fragments to receive an evaluation from the Soul Construction Orb. The higher the grade of the soul fragments, the higher the soul evaluation that will be generated.
Current Evaluation:

[Construct]
[Fuse]
"Two new features?" Lein frowned, noticing the added options on the orb's panel. These features hadn't existed before, making him wonder whether the orb could detect the soul fragments he had collected.
"Can this orb read the fragments I possess?" he muttered, stroking his chin. Lein already had two soul fragments—"Hard Shell" of C grade and "Magma Rage Core" of B grade.
Driven by curiosity, Lein decided to try out the new features, starting with the [Construct] option.
The system panel changed immediately. In front of him appeared a pattern with a large circle in the center, surrounded by ten smaller circles, all connected by thin white lines. Lein touched one of the smaller outer circles, and a notification popped up.
[Please insert a soul fragment]
"Ah, it seems these ten circles are the slots for inserting soul fragments," Lein nodded, realizing how the system worked. The interface reminded him of a game UI, like when a player was about to combine or craft items.
Without hesitation, Lein inserted the two soul fragments he had: "Hard Shell - C" and "Magma Rage Core - Soul B." As the fragments were slotted, the white lines connecting the central circle to the two adjacent smaller circles lit up, displaying waves of energy flowing briskly around them.
Another notification appeared, breaking Lein's train of thought.
[Two soul fragments detected. Would you like to build a soul?]
"No," Lein said, shaking his head. He decided to stop the merging process. Exiting the [Construct] feature, he returned to the main panel and selected the next option, [Fuse].
The same system display appeared, but with a slight difference. The central circle was still surrounded by smaller ones, but this time there were only three. Below the pattern was a brief explanation.
[Fuse] Combine 3 souls of the same grade to obtain a new soul.
S-grade Soul: requires 3 S-grade souls
A-grade Soul: requires 3 A-grade souls
…
E-grade Soul: requires 3 E-grade souls
"Three souls, huh?" Lein grinned slightly, feeling excited by the challenge. He knew exactly how to use his 'Duplicate' talent to gather the necessary soul fragments quickly.
"Alright... it seems I need to build a soul first, then proceed with [Fuse]," he said as he closed the feature panel and returned to the [Construct] menu.
Before inserting the fragments into the circles, he duplicated the (Magma Rage Core - Soul B).
[Duplicating (Magma Rage Core - Soul B) 10,000 times. Are you sure?]
"Yes."
Without any extravagant display, 10,000 "Magma Rage Cores" appeared in Lein's spatial ring.
Lein nodded in satisfaction. With nimble fingers, he returned to the [Construct] panel, eyeing the circular pattern he had already understood. One by one, he began placing "Magma Rage Core" fragments into the ten small circles surrounding the central one.
[Ten soul fragments detected. Would you like to build a soul?]
"Yes," Lein answered eagerly.
As soon as he gave the command, the entire circle on the panel began to vibrate. The ten outer circles exploded into brilliant white light, each releasing a burst of energy that converged into one.
The connecting lines between the outer circles and the central one glowed even brighter, revealing a pattern resembling woven threads of light that tightly bound every core, as if drawing out all the power from the fragments.
