Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 238: Befriending A Manager

"HRRRRGH!!!! THAT LITTLE…" the leader of the trio raged—outside Constantine Consumables, of course.

Troublesome as the guy might be, he wouldn't dare cause trouble inside a well-known shop.

He wouldn't have pleasant days ahead if he did so after all.

Naturally, the idiot and his stooges wouldn't allow such humiliation to go unavenged, hence, they waited for Shye at a dark alley near the shop.

"Good day, Sir Crowley. I am Drone, the branch manager of Balkrow City. Allow me to extend our sincerest apologies for any shortcomings in our handling of the previous issue," Drone expressed, respectfully bowing his head towards Shye as they sat facing each other within the confines of the manager's office.

"No worries, Manager Drone. Such bastards need to be taught a lesson sooner or later." Shye replied, slightly smiling at Drone.

He was in a good mood.

Humiliating the three little idiots in front of numerous spectators brought him immense satisfaction and his heart felt lighter than ever after releasing all the fury he was suppressing.

Why did he even try to control it in the first place?

It wasn't like he was initiating trouble, he was just responding to the troublemakers accordingly!

"We appreciate your understanding of our challenges, Sir Crowley. If I may be so bold as to inquire, are you a newcomer from Raven's Blade?" asked Drone, slightly nervous.

If this young diamond member turned out to be an *ssh*le and filed a report to the main branch due to his questions, all his hard work would go down the drain.

However, he still dared to ask since it was necessary for him to try and establish a deeper connection with this client.

If this rookie turns out to be some big shot in the future, then he could ride his glorious momentum and be promoted all the way to the high-ranking branches—or better, have his current branch become a high-ranking one.

After all, who else could take out 240,000 silver coins as though they were random pebbles littering the streets? At a young age at that.

Either the individual before him possessed exceptional talent or held connections to influential figures.

Drone had to take his chances, otherwise, he would remain a mediocre manager in a mediocre-ranking shop.

Fortunately for him, although slightly hotheaded nowadays, Shye was a good person at his core.

"Yes, I've just graduated this year. Raven's Blade seemed like a good choice so I joined them" Shye replied.

He knew that Drone was trying to probe his capabilities and since he also needed a few connections in Balkrow City, Shye decided to show Drone his worth.

Who knows? He might land another partnership deal.

Unbeknownst to them, both had intentions of latching on to the other to pursue greatness.

Procuring high-quality consumables such as potions, training elixirs, tonics, and antidotes for oneself was an essential part of being an adventurer, hence, Shye thought that if he could obtain access to a few…good stuff…by simply befriending Drone, then he would have a huge advantage over other adventurers.

"I see…I must say, Sir Crowley. I am impressed by your capabilities. So young yet so heroic. The way you dealt with those troublemakers was simply brilliant!"

"Hahahaha! Manager Drone is too nice. I'm just a humble rookie adventurer…"

Shye and Drone continued praising each other for a few exchanges before the manager took out a small box.

Based on their interaction, Shye was probably not only strong but also intelligent for his age, hence Drone decided that it was worth befriending such a talent even if it meant helping him behind the scenes.

If this rookie manages to make it big, then his future in the corporation is also secured.

Noticing the manager's actions, Shye inwardly smiled. It seems that he managed to obtain a decent backer.

A good start to his career.

"Sir Crowley, the troublemakers may still be lingering outside our establishment. While I have confidence in your abilities, it would be prudent for you to utilize this," Drone suggested, unveiling the small box in his grasp. "Contained within is a scroll of lesser teleportation embedded with specific coordinates.

Employing it will transport you to our secret establishment in Balkrow City, where one of our staff members will be ready to assist you."

Shye received Drone's gift with a smile on his face.

Although he wasn't scared of those three idiots, it would indeed be better to avoid trouble if he could.

Moreover, imagining those three waiting for nothing was truly hilarious, hence, he decided to heed Drone's advice.

Naturally, Shye had to show his sincerity as well, however, the question is…how?

Shye's mind whirled as he pondered what gift to present to Drone.

He wasn't ready for this sudden meeting so he wasn't able to prepare a gift beforehand.

Fortunately, he had the system.

"Thank you, Manager Drone, for such a nice gift. I would like to give you one as well." Shye said, temporarily turning around to press a few buttons.

Drone wanted to decline, however, he was interested in the rookie's gift.

It seems that the young man actually knew what was happening as well so he dropped his pretentious antics and simply waited for Shye to finish preparing his gift.

Of course, Shye had no idea what this crafty manager would want, hence, he simply purchased the most expensive item in the consumables category for 3000 points.

While 3000 points may have seemed costly, for Shye, it was a small price to pay for securing Manager Drone's support.

In truth, Shye didn't bother reading the potion's label; he merely bought it because of its high price. Pretending to retrieve it from his counterfeit spatial bag, he handed it over to Drone, who, though intrigued, hadn't anticipated much from Shye's gift.

He couldn't afford to behave suspiciously for too long, as it might raise doubts in Drone's mind.

What Shye didn't expect was Drone's intense reaction to his gift.

"This... Sir Crowley, I cannot accept such a rare gift!" exclaimed Drone, adamantly refusing Shye's present.

Honestly, Shye was shocked.

He randomly bought the damned thing so who would expect that it would be considered rare in Drone's eyes?

Taking advantage of the pleasant surprise, Shye smiled.

"I insist, Manager Drone. I believe you also know what I'm after so if you think I'm worth partnering with, please accept this small token of my appreciation."

Hearing Shye finally voice out his true thoughts, Drone's face turned serious, ultimately deciding to give Shye a profound bow of appreciation before receiving his gift.

"Well, then, Manager Drone, if you need me, you can contact me through my guild. I shall drop by when I need something as well." Shye said, smiling at Drone. "It's getting late and I still have to look for accommodation so I shall take my leave for now."

"Again, I would like to extend my gratitude for this wonderful gift, Sir Crowley. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors as a rookie adventurer."

Nodding appreciatively towards Drone, Shye used the scroll of lesser teleportation, disappearing from Drone's office and reappearing at an establishment one kilometer away from the shop.

Meanwhile, at a dark alleyway near Constantine Consumables…

"When the f*ck will that turtle come out?!"
