Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 385 The Auction!

Today was the day of the auction, and the city was in a frenzy, with all eyes on the Celestial Heavenly Store.

Inside the lobby, the seats had been rearranged, and a podium was placed at the front. Everything was ready for the auction, which would take place at noon.

As for the adventurers, they were thrilled, filled with excitement and anticipation. In contrast, the five most powerful individuals in the city were anything but calm.

They had plenty of gold coins, which would usually give them the confidence to snatch the Fire Resisting Robe from the adventurer teams.

But the situation was reversed— the Celestial Heavenly Store was not interested in gold coins or any typical currency.

The only currency that could move them was the store's contribution points, which the five individuals did not possess. Their only hope now was that their gold coins could somehow be converted to contribution points.

At exactly noon, the doors to the Celestial Heavenly Store opened, allowing those ready to participate in the auction to enter.

Filled with impatience, the powerful adventurer captains entered the lobby with their heads held high. Each team could only bring two people.

In less than twenty minutes, the lobby was packed to the brim with both the clan leaders and their butlers, as well as the adventurer teams.

Creak!

The lobby doors shut, marking the beginning of the auction.

Inside the lobby, everyone tensed up, their gazes fixated on the small podium at the front.

Deng Kun emerged from the back door and walked toward the podium with a light smile on his face.

"I won't waste anyone's time," he said, stepping up to the podium. "For the sake of the clans and the City Lord, you can convert your gold coins to store contribution points."

"Huh!"

When the clan leaders and City Lord heard this, a deep sigh of relief escaped their mouths. Their greatest fear had been resolved.

However, Deng Kun's next words left them frozen.

"The conversion rate is ten gold coins for one contribution point."

Instantly, the bright smiles on their faces vanished, replaced by disbelief. They rolled their eyes and stared at the still-smiling man on the podium, wondering if he was insane.

'How could one contribution point be worth ten gold coins?!' they screamed in their hearts.

They glared at him, ready to tear him to pieces for such an absurd conversion rate, only to sigh in dejection.

'What could they do?'

'The store never forced us to come. We came on our own accord.'

While the clan leaders and City Lord were caught between a rock and a hard place, the adventurer team captains had their jaws dropped.

They never expected the store's contribution points to hold such value. With this revelation, they realized they were just as powerful as the clan leaders and the City Lord inside the store.

They raised their shoulders, filled with pride and confidence.

'Who said joining the store's adventurer guild was a waste of time? Hmm?'

They turned and smiled at the clan leaders and City Lord, adding fuel to their fury.

Looking at the condescending smiles on the adventurers' faces, the Wei clan leader could no longer hold back and demanded, "Where can we exchange our gold coins for contribution points?"

Deng Kun's smile deepened as he pointed to the counter. Behind the counter stood a beautiful lady. Without hesitation, the Wei clan leader marched toward her confidently.

A minute later, the Wei clan leader returned to his seat, his expression grim and filled with anger. His butler took a couple of steps back, afraid of his lord's foul mood.

Since the Wei clan leader had bitten the bullet, the other clan leaders had no choice but to convert their gold coins to contribution points.

Five minutes later, the City Lord and clan leaders had all converted their coins to contribution points.

"Now that this is out of the way, let's begin the auction," Deng Kun announced.

From the back door, a woman in a maid outfit emerged, pushing a cart. The cart was covered in a black cloth, obscuring its contents.

Without unveiling the items, Deng Kun continued, "You all know why you came here, but what you don't know is that the Fire Resisting Robe has three tiers."

"The common tier, the noble tier, and the duke tier."

"The common tier is the weakest of the robes, while the duke tier is the strongest. The common tier robe has ten percent fire resistance, the noble tier has twenty percent, and the duke tier, the strongest, has fifty percent fire resistance."

For a moment, everyone in the lobby was frozen as they processed this information. No one expected the store to have such a powerful set of robes.

Ten percent fire resistance was already high, but the duke tier, with fifty percent resistance, was insane, to say the least.

The clan leaders and the City Lord, who had been filled with grievance, had a change of heart. Their hearts pounded heavily against their chests, and their eyes burned with greed.

They must get their hands on the duke tier robe, they all cried in their hearts.

Deng Kun stared at them for a moment, seeing that they fully understood how magical the robe was, then continued.

"This is the common tier robe, and its starting price is fifty points."

As he spoke, the lady beside the cart unveiled the common tier fire resisting robe. The robe was black, laced with red stripes along the edges.

Everyone turned to look at the robe, but their faces were far from excited. They were grim, laced with shock.

Fifty points!

They couldn't help but exclaim inwardly.

Previously, they had thought they could buy the duke tier robe, only now realizing how naïve they had been. How could such a magical robe be cheap?

However, fifty points for a common tier robe still felt too expensive.

Deng Kun, unconcerned by their thoughts, continued with the auction. "You may start placing your bids. Each bid must increase by at least ten points."

"60 points!"

"70 points!"

Quickly, the adventurers started calling out their bids. The clan leaders and the City Lord could only shake their heads and join in.

"150 points!" the City Lord shouted.

In the blink of an eye, the bid had tripled its initial price. Staring at the City Lord, everyone was filled with jealousy and unwillingness. However, 150 points were far beyond what they could compete with.

In the end, the City Lord grabbed the first fire resisting robe.

After the first sale, Deng Kun announced, "We're only selling three common tier robes today."

"What!"

Everyone gasped in shock. They hadn't expected the store to sell only three common tier robes, if they knew they wouldn't have allowed the city lord to have such an easy victory.

Filled with resentment, they looked at the City Lord, who was basking in his victory.

The next two common tier robes were sold for 200 points and 300 points, respectively, both bought by the adventurer teams.

Against the adventurer teams, the clan leaders were still short on points. The Mo clan leader bit the corner of her lip, filled with unwillingness.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Sir, what is the initial price of the noble tier?" she demanded.

When Deng Kun heard her, he turned and smiled. "Five hundred points, and every increase must be by at least one hundred points. Shall I bring it out?"

What?!

Everyone sucked in a cold breath. Even if they sold themselves and their entire clan, they wouldn't be able to afford it.

Filled with regret and unwillingness, the Mo clan leader returned to her seat, her face drained of color.

"This is not the end. You need to join the adventurer guild and save as many points as you can for the next auction," Deng Kun announced.

'Really!'

Instantly, the atmosphere in the lobby changed, now filled with hope. The adventurer captains who had failed to obtain a fire-resisting robe had their blood pumping.

"When is the next auction?"

"In a month," Deng Kun responded. "And that brings us to the end of the auction. I hope to see you at the next one."
