Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 383 Don't Poke the Hornet Nest

Looking at the carnage spread across the lobby floor, with the thick stench of blood permeating the air, all the adventurers sucked in a cold breath, their palms sweaty.

What they had just witnessed was not a fight, but a massacre.

A complete annihilation.

Turning to look at each other, they saw beads of sweat lingering at the corners of their heads. The shock they had received from the knights' terrifying killing spree was too great for them to recover quickly.

"Terrifying!" a team captain finally managed to utter.

"In this life, we must never go against the store!" an old man said, still in shock.

All the adventurers nodded, turning to look at the over forty heads rolled on the ground, their eyes wide open in death.

"Will you help with the horror of cleaning up this trash?" Deng Kun asked, turning to the adventurers with teams.

Without hesitation, the men rushed from their seats and began to clean the lobby with great zeal.

Outside the store, pedestrians were moving back and forth with their usual smiles plastered on their faces when they noticed something abnormal.

From the Celestial Heavenly Store, a group of men carried many headless corpses on stretchers, taking them out of the city.

"What is happening?"

"Did someone attack the store?"

"Who knows what's going on?"

Quickly, a small crowd gathered in front of the Celestial Heavenly Store, their faces marred with shock and confusion.

At first, they thought the number of corpses would be fewer than ten, but the continuous flow coming out of the store left them stupefied.

With the increasing number of corpses, the crowd grew, and the murmurs became louder. The death toll was too great for people to keep their curiosity in check, and a few young men went to ask the adventurers.

When they learned what had happened, the crowd erupted in shock and fear. Realizing they were standing just a few feet from the store that had massacred over forty people, the crowd dispersed nervously.

Shortly afterward, rumors spread like wildfire. As they spread, the story became exaggerated, and people grew scared just by staring at the Celestial Heavenly Store.

Inside the City Lord's mansion, the City Lord read the report and gave a heavy sigh.

"Who would be foolish enough to attack the Celestial Heavenly Store?"

"My Lord, from what we've gathered, these men came from outside and were quite strong," the butler responded respectfully.

"Strong?" The City Lord's mouth twitched.

Facing the Celestial Heavenly Store, no matter how strong you are, you're nothing but weak ants, helpless and only able to beg for your life—if they even give you the chance.

"Send men to keep an eye on any outsiders who come into the city. I do not want them poking the hornet's nest and making us pay for their stupidity," he commanded.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"How is the project?" he asked, changing the subject.

"My Lord, the pagoda should be completed in two weeks," answered the butler.

"Good." He nodded, a look of anticipation flashing across his face.

The City Lord was not the only powerful individual to receive news of the shocking deaths of the Crimson Shadow Bandits; all the clan leaders of the four clans received reports from their men.

They all came to one conclusion: they must not get on the bad side of the store. They knew the store was terrifying, but they never expected it to be this ruthless and merciless.

In an inn by the window, Wu Xia, Mr. Hu, and the others were seated, looking down at the peaceful pedestrians.

"Young Miss, why don't we try to buy the Fire Horned Lizard? I don't think these people would know the value of such a rare beast," Ye Bi said casually.

Just as Wu Xia prepared to respond, the door to their room was pushed open, and two men rushed in, their faces filled with shock.

"Talk, what happened?" Mr. Hu demanded with a slight frown.

"Manager Hu, the Crimson Shadow Bandits have been killed," one of the men said, his voice full of excitement.

"What?!"

Everyone in the room stood up, their eyes wide in disbelief. "Are you telling the truth? Where did you hear this?" Mr. Hu asked, not believing his ears.

"They tried to attack the store where we paid that kid one gold coin and were ruthlessly massacred, their heads severed from their necks," the other man reported.

Huh!

Everyone sucked in a cold breath, their spines drenched in cold sweat. "A-Are you sure it was the Crimson Shadow Bandits?" Wu Xia asked, her voice trembling.

"Yes, Young Miss," the two men nodded. "We checked their corpses outside the city."

Shaking his head, Mr. Hu took his seat, exhaling a deep sigh of relief. "I knew it. For such a boy to have the confidence to demand money from us in the store, I knew the store would be far from simple."

Ye Bi stood frozen. She had always looked down on the inhabitants of the city, but every time, she was slapped in the face.

"What should we do?" one of the guards asked, watching everyone lost in their thoughts.

When they heard the question, everyone turned to look at Wu Xia, waiting for her decision. She was the group's leader, and her decision would determine their next course of action since the threat to their lives had been resolved.

Shaking her head, she said, "Right now, I don't know. Tomorrow, I should have a plan."

If the Celestial Heavenly Store was just an ordinary store, she might have had an idea of how to handle them. However, the store had proven it was far from simple, and it would be unwise to get on the bad side of such a mysterious establishment.

---

The next day.

With the sun rising on the horizon, the city's inhabitants woke to continue their daily activities, but none could forget about the Celestial Heavenly Store's merciless massacre.

In restaurants and teahouses, the death of the Crimson Shadow Bandits was passionately discussed. Even children knew of the unfortunate souls who had poked the hornet's nest.

While everyone was still discussing the incident, the Celestial Heavenly Store released another announcement:

They were selling robes that could resist boiling magma.

The Fire Resisting Robe.
