Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 147: Knife Town

Chapter 147: Knife Town

" In the middle of July, your student Alan was assassinated in Black Street "

"What? Someone dares to assassinate my student? Do you think his life is too long?"

"In October, the William family's autumn hunt took place in the Whispering Forest. The afternoon before the event began, Alan clashed with the Grant family's Diego. Alan used three knives to lift Diego's weapon away. From then on, the two of them became enemies."

"Alright, you are truly worthy of being my student. Those disciples from wealthy families are nothing. Didn't big sister beat them to tears back then?"

On the sofa, Windsor Belo, who had already taken a bath, was sitting cross-legged in a loose silk nightgown. Holding a wine bottle in one hand and a high leg in the other, he would occasionally bring the wine in the cup to his mouth while listening to Nuo Nuo's report.

The weather was cold, but the temperature in the living room remained constant at about 22 degrees Celsius. There was not the slightest trace of coldness outside.

The maid gave a brief report about Alan during the six months that Windsor Belo had left. Windsor Belo sometimes listened, but sometimes she asked about one or two details. Fortunately, she had told the Red Wolf to gather Alan's information before she left. Otherwise, Nuo Nuo would not have been able to explain it in detail, as if she had personally arrived at the scene.

Especially the bet with the card artisans at Venus Hotel not long ago, Windsor Belo almost told Nono everything from beginning to end. The contents of Nuo Nuo's report were not much different from what had happened that night. '"Looks like I have a good student," said Windsor Belo cheerfully. "Jin Liancheng and Adele's families are only famous families, but they are rich enough to be comparable to wealthy families. As for Leon, he is not necessarily the heir to a wealthy family. With such friends, Allen will have a bright future. Of course, I am the teacher behind him."

"Miss, you have another student, Webb," Nuno warned.

"Ah, there's no need to talk about him. I'm sleepy. Go to sleep." After placing the wine bottle and glass casually, Windsor Belo stood up on the sofa and stretched her waist, showing her beautiful figure.

Noel wrote in his mind that Admiral Windsor Bellow had no interest in Webb.

After remembering it, she sent it to the Red Wolf's database. Windsor Belo gently tapped the maid's head and said, "Idiot, don't send this kind of information. Otherwise, how am I supposed to earn money from the Fan Weini Family's intelligence fees?"

Noel rubbed his head and looked pitifully at Windsor Belo. "Then what should I write?"

'"Write that the great and beautiful Lord Windsor Belo has returned to Babylon and asked about Weber. That's enough. Let the Fanvenys guess what happened. In fact, I did mention Weber, didn't I?" Windsor Belo belittled, jumped off the sofa and left.

Looking at her back, no matter what, Nuo Nuo was like seeing a female dragon holding piles of gold coins and smiling so hard that her eyes narrowed.

After Nono removed a string of modifiers that Windsor Belo had added to him, the news prompted the Fanveni family to buy it from the Red Wolf for two million dollars.

The next day, Ellen, who was at Dawn Blade, saw Windsor Belo when he and Webb arrived at his office together after receiving the Director's notice. Dean Andrew was sitting on the sofa with a cup of black tea fluttering with hot smoke. Windsor Belo had taken his seat. Today, Marshal Greed still wore a tight-fitting military uniform, outlining her charming curves.

She pressed herself into the chair with a 45-degree tilt and two legs hanging in the air. Windsor Belo crossed her legs in a corner of the desk, her hands crossed on her body. The hat was buttoned down so that one could only see her tightly pursed lips and pointed chin.

Webb's eyes lit up when he saw her. His eyes seemed to be spitting out a ball of flame. He almost exaggeratedly shouted, "Respected teacher, when did you come?"

In fact, Webb had already known through the family channel that Windsor Belo had returned yesterday and asked about his situation. This made Webb very excited. Windsor Belo was sure that she was interested in him. Otherwise, why would she inquire about him as soon as she came back?

Ellen greeted Dean Andrew and said to Windsor Belo, "Teacher, you're back."

Windsor Belo pushed her hat up, winked at Alan, and then looked at Webb. "Boys, the final exam will be on Sunday this week. I hope you're ready."

"Of course, teacher." Webb said first, "I've already made a detailed plan. I'm just waiting to do something big."

He then glanced at Alan with hatred.

This damn fellow, Windsor Belo actually looked at her first. Webb thought.

Windsor Belo didn't seem to see anything strange in Webb's eyes. She chuckled and said, "Very energetic. Then, hand over your tactical books, equipment configuration plans, and military expenditure lists to Dean Andrew for the next two days."

"This is also part of the examination for you."

After handing over some of the notes for the exam, Windsor Belo signaled for the two of them to leave. Before leaving, Ellen asked the female marshal, "Teacher, I hope that the members of the squad can meet me in the afternoon. After all, they need to be familiar with their equipment. Also, I need to train with them to increase their tacit understanding."

Windsor Belo nodded and said, "Your request is very reasonable. You will see them in the afternoon."

Weber hurriedly made the same request.

In the afternoon, Alan handed the "homework" Windsor Belo had called for to the dean, and Andrew told him that the squad assigned to him would arrive in an hour. Allen could pull the team back to the castle and use the few days before the exam to train properly.

After Allen left, Andrew glanced at the tactical books and other plans that Allen had handed over. Andrew squinted and smiled when he saw the self/magic cube sequence and detailed instructions in the equipment configuration column. "Looks like our Marshal Greed really found an amazing student this time."

At about two o'clock in the afternoon, two small airships were parked on the lawn outside the academy. Alan and Webb, who had received the news early in the morning, were already waiting on the lawn, each with a tablet brain in their hands. On the screen were the names and details of the members of their respective teams.

The deck of the flying ship descended, and two teams flew down from the ship. Under the leadership of their respective captains, they reported to Allen and Webb respectively. After Allen confirmed that the team was correct, he directly pulled them towards the castle. Most of the troops sent to Allen this time were from Sirius' own reserve corps. The captain and vice captain were Sirius' regular sergeants. They were sitting on a Bescot truck. The soldiers looked at Alan from time to time and whispered to each other. Obviously, they were very curious about the students chosen by Windsor Belo.

A white soldier pulled on his battle helmet and spat out a piece of gum from his mouth. "What bad luck. I thought I could go to war in the Outer Realm this time. I didn't expect that it would be for the two young masters to play war games."

The soldiers immediately laughed.

"Shut your mouth, soldier!" Captain Lanchi shouted.

The soldier shrugged his shoulders and suddenly felt something. He turned around and saw that Alan was looking at him calmly. From his calm, ruby-like eyes, the soldier seemed to be able to see his figure.

This peculiar clear gaze caused his back to turn cold.

Arriving at the castle, Allen brought the team to the training building. Bethcodt's family guards came over to watch the show, and Regis followed the crowd with his sword in his hand. When he saw Alan, he shouted and complained, "We haven't had a spar in a long time."

Alan nodded and smiled, "I was just about to ask you to accompany me in my special training for the next few days."

"Really?" Regis's eyes lit up as he rubbed his fists and said, "I'll wait."

Allen chose a hall that could accommodate a dozen or so people to train together. Allen asked someone to bring over the equipment he had prepared for this team. Before the family guards delivered the items, Ellen casually picked up two training knives and said, "I know, many of you will probably think this is a game. But I want to tell you, this is a battle, a real battle."

"Perhaps, you will think. Look, this kid wants to be our commander before he's weaned. But I'm sorry, I'm more powerful than most of you. If you don't agree, who's going to play?" Alan raised one of the training knives.

The white soldier snorted before taking off his helmet and stepping forward, "I'll do it."

Captain Lanchi glanced at him and Alan said, "It's all right, Captain."

Then he threw the knife to the soldier, and Lanchi walked over and whispered, "Don't go too far."

The soldier chuckled as he stepped forward with his saber in hand and put on a posture. Allen stood casually on his shoulder and asked, "Can we begin now?"

"Anytime."

Alan nodded.

His body suddenly leaned forward, his calf muscles trembling slightly, and a tremendous force erupted, pushing him towards the soldier like a cheetah. The shoulder drill bounced up with a knife and slashed at the soldier at lightning speed. In the next moment, Alan's embrace was like a rain of light!

The soldier was stunned. Had he ever seen such a saber technique?

"Young Master, please be merciful," Lan Qi said.

He followed the knife.

A series of tinkling sounds rang out, and the rain of light suddenly disappeared. Alan had already retracted his saber and slid back. Looking at the soldier, the training knife in his hand was neatly broken into eight pieces. The pieces fell to the ground, leaving only a bare hilt in his hand.

Everyone fell silent. Apart from Captain Lanchi, the vice captain and the soldiers applauded. Everyone applauded.

Alan put the knife on his shoulder and smiled at the soldier.

The white soldier was stunned for a moment, then rubbed his head and said, "Damn it, I can't accept it even if I want to."

Alan looked at him and knew that it would be the warriors from the trump card legions who would be suppressed in the end. If he didn't do this, he wouldn't be able to command this squad like an arm when it came to the real assessment.
