Dragon Blooded War God

Long Chen carefully made his way towards Sky Isle as he traversed through the mist.

Bird-type beasts weren’t new to him, though most of the ones he had seen had been tamed by people to be used as transportation. Now, however, he was in a place where there were many flying demonic beasts he had never seen before. The demonic beasts flew freely in the sky and let off massive gusts of winds.

There were Clouds Sparrows and Four-Winged Fire Birds everywhere. There were many fire-type demonic beasts here, most likely due to the influence of the Heavenly Phoenix. This was good news for Xiaolang because the demonic core of the Heavenly Phoenix would increase his strength further!

Long Chen also noticed that a lot of the demonic beasts were fighting each other in the dense mist and clouds. It was not as peaceful as he had thought.

He carefully avoided their fights. Thanks to Sight, he could see their souls through the clouds and mist. Long Chen avoided them long before they got close to him.

He had to reach Sky Isle to be able to fight properly.

The mist and clouds were larger than he had expected. Long Chen had flown for half a day before he finally saw Sky Isle.

It was the territory of the Heavenly Phoenix. The closer he got, the higher the temperatures were. It was no exaggeration to say that the Heavenly Phoenix was the strongest demonic beast in the Divine Martial Empire if even its flames could make this place so hot here.

Sky Isle was surrounded by thick mist and clouds, so Long Chen only saw its faint outline. He had to get quite close to see the grey earth and the outline of a ruined city.

He carefully got close to the island and saw that it wasn’t big. It was only roughly half the size of Martial Overlord City.

The island looked scary and mysterious from within the mist. In fact, it looked desolate. Even so, it was densely populated with bird-type demonic beasts. Each of them had their own territory. The closer they got to the center, the larger the ruined buildings were and the stronger the demonic beasts were.

The demonic beasts at the outermost layer were at the Heaven-tier. Those below that tier couldn’t survive in Sky Isle.

Long Chen no longer had any hesitation when he saw Sky Isle. He increased his speed and touched the ground. Just as he had expected, the ground was solid here even though the entire isle was floating in the air.

But the place was very chaotic and there were marks of bird-type demonic beasts everywhere. It was evident that it had been a long time since a human set foot here. The ruined buildings were covered in marks from being abandoned for a long time.

Due to their habitat, the bird-type beasts here had long developed keen eyesight. Therefore, many of them noticed Long Chen the moment he landed.

A human’s presence was different from that of a demonic beast! Long Chen was like a demonic beast that had entered a human habitat. Shrill cries filled the air as the demonic beasts called out to warn the others of an intruder.

The entire isle started to stir with activity.

Thousands of demonic beasts flew into the air and covered the place in a dark shadow. Their cries could pierce a person’s eardrums.

Bam!

Numerous attacks from fire and wind-type beasts flew towards Long Chen. The intense flames and strong gales almost swallowed him whole.

But he was not afraid.

While the attacks were intense and there were many demonic beasts, all of them were only at the Heaven-tier. Long Chen didn’t need to dodge their attacks since he would be impervious to them. But for safety’s sake, Long Chen let Xiaolang out. Xiaolang was a Category Three King-tier demonic beast that could threaten the other demonic beasts easily.

A black flame surged out from Long Chen and grew larger, taking the form of a jet-black demonic beast. Xiaolang howled.

As he howled, black flames radiated outwards and burned the nearby beasts to crisps. Many of them flew away in a panic, but most of them were dead. A Category Three King-tier beast was not to be trifled with. The demonic beasts panicked and escaped to a safe distance after Xiaolang’s appearance.

Since all of them were bird-type beasts, they flew freely in the air as they waited for the stronger beasts to come and defeat the Sun Devouring Wolf. They weren’t as stupid as Long Chen had expected.

Demonic beasts were much more wary of each other than humans, especially beasts as large as Xiaolang. None of the beasts below the King-tier dared to challenge him.

Xiaolang easily repelled the weaker beasts.

Even after his transformation, he could still communicate with Long Chen through the language of beasts. “Big Brother! I’ve sensed the presence of the Heavenly Phoenix! Follow me.”

Xiaolang trudged forward towards the center of Sky Isle. The closer they got, the higher the temperature was.

The demonic beasts all flew into the air as Xiaolang approached them. They knew they were outmatched.

“Who are you?!” Just then, a young man with a burning body appeared in front of Xiaolang. The man had red crystals for eyes and long, red hair. He was looking at Long Chen and Mo Xiaolang.

It was clearly a King-tier demonic beast with some form of intelligence. If not, it would’ve never been able to transform into a human-form to communicate with Long Chen.

“This is the territory of the king! Outsider, human, begone!” the man snarled as he looked at Long Chen and Xiaolang.

“Xiaolang, kill him!” Long Chen couldn’t be bothered with the demonic beast.

The man had the strength to fight against Xiaolang, so Long Chen deduced that his true body was also a Category Three King-tier demonic beast!

As he had expected, the man became angry and flames exploded from his body. He then transformed into a fiery bird and expanded his wings.

Long Chen had seen that form before. It was similar to the Four-Winged Fire Bird from before, but this one had six wings. Each of its feathers was burning brightly.

It was a Six-Winged Fire Bird!

The Four-Winged Fire Bird was supposed to be the normal kind, so the Six-Winged Fire Bird was clearly a mutation. Most demonic beasts only underwent minute changes when they had a mutation, but the Six-Winged Fire Bird was four stages stronger than a regular Four-Winged Fire Bird! It had reached the Category Three King-tier!

The Six-Winged Fire Bird extended its wings and flew into the air at a fast speed. Its wingspan made it seem far larger than Xiaolang, though its body was similar in size.

A sharp voice was accompanied with burning flames as it flew towards Long Chen and Xiaolang.

But it was an insult to use fire-based attacks in front of a Sun Devouring Wolf. Xiaolang growled and pounced towards the Six-Winged Fire Bird.

The Six-Winged Fire Bird extended its claws to attack Xiaolang!

The collision of their massive bodies made a loud thud that reverberated across Sky Isle. The Six-Winged Fire Bird was clearly weaker than Xiaolang. The Sun Devouring Wolf bit into the Six-Winged Fire Bird’s claw and threw it to the ground!

Crack!

A large section of the ruins was flattened by the Six-Winged Fire Bird’s body. Under its intense flames, the ground surrounding it was charred black!

But its injuries were minimal, and being thrown down by Xiaolang made it even more infuriated. It flapped its wings furiously and shot up into the air. Xiaolang was left all alone on the ground.

As a Category Three King-tier beast, it had a lot of pride. It was feeling humiliated after being thrown onto the ground by Xiaolang in the first bout. It flapped its wings, and fiery balls rained down from the heavens. The fire balls were so numerous that they almost blanketed Xiaolang!

“You want to fight Xiaolang with fire?” Long Chen chuckled.

Xiaolang opened his maw, and a black whirlpool appeared near his snout. The flames were sucked into the black whirlpool and funneled into his stomach.

The Six-Winged Fire Bird was shocked. It had never seen a beast like that before! It became angrier and flapped its wings even faster. It believed its flames could kill Xiaolang! Even more fireballs rained down, faster and stronger than before. Each fireball was three meters in diameter this time!
