DEVIANT

Chapter 71

71 Chapter 71: The Culture

Just as Angel had suspected, these Losts were far weaker than the normal Losts he has gone against. They were lacking in strength and speed but their intelligence was at the same level or slightly higher.

Xiu!

Soon the Losts stopped charging forward aimlessly and strategizing properly. They scattered from afar and slowly made their way toward the enemy. This time they don’t just charge forward aimlessly, using the beast gears they began launching attacks as they come. Fireballs and other sorts of attacks were thrown forward. The guardians who have been inactive quickly tried to defend meanwhile Silver don’t move an inch. A massive blue dome shell surrounded him and all attacks that dared to hit the barrier just bounced off.

Angel could see the tide of battle change and he knew it was only a matter of time before these Losts reach them. His face twitched as he considered what next to do.

Meanwhile...

Alex’s blade slashed a large body of petals and quickly he spun to the side, dodging an attack. He wanted to push forward but more and more petals emerged from thin air and soon the entire corridor was filled up, he could barely see Cherry or Blake.

Thud!

Thud!

Alex kept performing continuous backflips as he retreated, wondering how to get past this. H knew the enemy has been toying with him all this while. The strength of a B-rated deviant is almost equivalent to a tiger-level mutant beast, meanwhile, his beast gear is nowhere near the tiger level. In terms of raw power, he isn’t able to suppress the enemy with his demon bat daggers.

.....

To cover up his lack of power he tried to use skills and for a moment it worked but right now it does not matter anymore. A person can only go so far with technique but in the face of absolute power, all forms of techniques are useless.

“Fuck it!” Alex gritted his teeth as he stopped retreating and struck his blade as hard as he can.

Powerful sound wave attacks raced forward and struck the huge boy of pink petals but it could not break through, it could only slow it down for a while. Alex was already turning pale from using the powers of the dagger for so long, it was just a matter of time before he runs out of juice.

At this level even Silver was worried. It won’t take long before the Losts get to them and when that happens it’s game over. Right now the rate at which they kill the Losts is far less than the rate at which a new one is created. Even Angel stood in mid-air, gazing at the Losts with a frown, not knowing how to proceed.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

As they were trapped in a fierce battle, footsteps could be heard approaching them. Silver struggled to shoot a glance back only to see three people approaching. His eyes widened in shock as he instantly recognized him. At this point, he even forgot to shoot and gazed at them with his jaws dropped.

The big four may be popular and famous but once you leave the country the fame dies down a little but not these guys. Africa as a continent has lots of deviants but amongst them only a hand few stand out. The greatest African deviant is known to be a man who works alone. He moves and acts alone but then there is also Africa’s greatest crew, the culture.

This is a team of seven of the best. They are close friends and even though they may not be able to compare to the best individually, together many believe they are invincible.

“The day we have business here, something this annoying decides to happen” A light-skinned member of the culture said calmly.

He wore a head warmer, a white leather jacket, a white shirt within, white joggers, and white shoes. His build was could be considered a bit bulky even though he wasn’t muscular. He looked more amused than pissed.

“Klay I swear this shit is funny... Like are you sure we are not cursed?” A fairly dark-skinned youth laughed.

His complexion can be considered light brown with a buzz cut hairstyle and thick beards around his jaw area. He wore a brown vintage shirt, with black jeans and black season seven brand slippers. Just like Klay, Sage looked amused as well!

“We shouldn’t be laughing while people are here are fighting for their lives, it’s rude” Vendetta chuckled.

He was light-skinned with light brown eyes. He wore the same attire as Klay, white all around.

Vendetta looked up to see Angel gazing at him with questioning eyes but he didn’t seem to care. Without saying a word, Sage was already making his way forward with purple eyes blazing with power.

“We will take it from here” Sage said calmly as he shoved both hands into his pocket and his body was laced with a bright purple aura. His body was slowly dragged off the ground by an invisible force while his aura spread around at an astonishing speed. In a matter of seconds, all the Losts were caught in one massive ball of pure purple energy, leaving behind stunned viewers.

Meanwhile, Vendetta and Klay acted as if nothing has happened and kept walking forward casually. Their eyes remained calm as they gazed at the middle school building before Klay spoke up.

“There are three buildings here... Each occupied... We split up, I’m going for the one at the center” Klay said calmly and the others nodded in agreement.

“Don’t kill any more Losts... These kids can still be saved... These are not real beast gears, they are just imitations” Vendetta said coldly, leaving Silver and Angel stunned.

They have been fighting fiercely all this while but these three just came and ended everything in seconds while carefully analyzing the secret behind the strange Losts!

“This is what it means to be strong!” Silver muttered in shock and admiration.
