100 Days to Seduce the Devil

Chapter 74 Challenge Nathan's Decision

Day Six…

~~*****~~

Nathan already put the pieces together. He figured out Abigail's method. She was one crafty woman. She knew how to blackmail someone and her method was also severe.

Who would have thought that she would record a sex video just to threaten the assistant cook? Nathan also wanted to commend her. In just one day, she was able to implement her plan, finding out that the assistant cook and one of the guards were having a secret affair.

'She is a dangerous woman… a scheming one.' Nathan mumbled inwardly, his eyes scanning Abigail's face intently.

"Just don't do this again. And make sure not to talk about this kind of stuff when Ethan is around. He stole the pills and put them into my tea." Nathan lectured the two adults before him.

Abigail: "..."

Butler Li: "..."

Abigail and Butler Li were dumbfounded at the mention of Ethan's name.

'Oh my, I thought it was Miss Abi who took the two missing pills.' Butler Li gasped, covering his mouth.

'Fortunately, Ethan was the real culprit, or else, Nathan would blame me again,' Abigail heaved a sigh of relief.

"I've done my part. I fired Chef Min so I am giving you the task, Butler Li, to find someone who will replace him." Nathan commanded.

He didn't want to make this conversation long. Abigail already explained the reason why they bought the aphrodisiac drug. He would let this slide for now. Aside from that, he felt so awkward facing Abigail today because of what happened last night. As much as possible, he wanted to avoid her.

"Let's go inside. Ethan might be waiting for us." Nathan said before turning around to leave. He didn't wait for Abigail and Butler Li as he walked ahead.

Abigail and Butler Li exchanged glances with one another. There was a baffled look on their faces. They thought Nathan would scold them big time. But he finally calmed down and left quietly.

"Miss Abi… Were you the one who requested Master Nathan to fire Chef Min?" Butler Li felt like it was a harsh punishment for someone who has been serving the Sparks Family for twenty five years.

"Yes. I am! Those who will try to mess up with me… will have the same fate as Chef Min. I'm not a forgiving woman. And I am not someone who can easily trample on by anyone, not even your Master." A wicked smile hung on the corners of her lips.

Butler Li could only smile awkwardly, scratching his face. Abigail's words were like a warning. She was indeed frightening like his master.

"Miss Abi, I will not dare mess up with you." Butler Li mumbled meekly.

Abigail let out a soft giggle. Butler Li was someone who was smart enough to heed her warnings. At least, the two of them would get along further as time went by. Butler Li might be annoying sometimes but he was easy to talk to.

"Okay. Butler Li. I will count on you," she said, tapping his shoulder. "Now, let's go. Time for breakfast!"

Meanwhile, Chef Min was already in his quarters, packing his things up. The head maid accompanied him to comfort him.

"Chef Min, don't worry. We will try our best to talk to Master Nathan. You are the only cook who knows Master Nathan's palate. No one could match your cooking ability. Master Nathan will definitely hire you back." The head maid consoled him.

"This is the bitch's fault. She wants to ruin my image in front of Master Nathan. I wonder who betrayed me among my assistant cooks!" Butler Li uttered through his gritted teeth.

"I will inform Lady Veronica of this injustice! I know that bitch is trying to become the Lady of this house! Watch her, Adelaida. Don't let her act as a queen of this mansion!"

The head maid just bobbed her head. "Let's call Lady Veronica. Maybe she can convince Master Nathan." Adelaida suggested.

Chef Min picked up his phone and dialed Veronica's number. After a few rings, the call was answered.

"Hello, Chef Min. Is there something wrong?" Veronica's voice could be heard from the other line. She wondered if something happened in the mansion again. She asked Chef Min to report everything to her.

"Lady Veronica… I need your help… Master Nathan fired me today because of the bitch, Abigail! She poisoned Master Nathan's mind. Now, he is kicking me out of the mansion, instead of that woman." Chef Min complained to her with his pitiful voice.

"WHAT?! Nathan did that to you?!" Veronica exclaimed. She couldn't believe it. Nathan chose to kick out his long-time Chef, rather than the stranger whom he had just met for the past few days. This was not right!

Veronica also thought that this was so unfair. The rage surged up inside her chest. She had the urge to slap Abigail's thick face!

"Don't worry. I will have to talk to Nathan. I can't let him do this to you. You are very special to my late sister, Monica!" Veronica reassured him. But she wasn't certain if Nathan would listen to her.

"Thank you, Lady Veronica. I owe you this. Please convince, Master Nathan."

"I will try my best… but if he won't listen to me… I think there might be another way. What is the reaction of the other people in the mansion?" Veronica asked him as she wanted to know the opinion and consensus of other people staying in the mansion.

Chef Min glanced at the Head Maid, Adelaida. He asked her about her feelings. He handed the phone to Adelaida, letting her talk to Veronica.

"Lady Veronica, we are against this decision. Chef Min dedicated his life just serving Master Nathan and the Sparks family. We can't believe that Master Nathan would be so harsh."

Veronica nodded her head after hearing that.

"If everyone thinks that this is unfair, you can show this to Nathan. You have to unite… and have strike! Through this, Nathan might realize that he is wrong!" Veronica urged them to do a strike inside the mansion and plead for Chef Min's return.

"This is a good idea, Lady Veronica! I will talk to the other maids, helpers, and assistant cooks. We will also raise this concern to Chairman Xu." Adelaida agreed without considering the consequence of challenging Nathan's authority.
