Chapter 136: Trying To Be Passive In A Fight Against The Monsters Near The Border

Chapter 136: Trying To Be Passive In A Fight Against The Monsters Near The Border

Axel's PoV:

I used my mana eye to observe the monsters from afar and saw multiple monsters which were looking at my shadow clone.

After the monsters were finished observing the shadow clone, they decided to kill my shadow clone by launching multiple elemental projectiles.

The shadow clone dissipated after the monsters killed the shadow clone.

After killing the shadow clone, the monsters found out that it wasn't the real body so the monsters were growling and roaring in anger due to their pray slipping out of their grasp.

I was lucky that I had some knowledge about ninja techniques which I had learned from a popular ninja anime.

I was observing the monsters throwing their tantrums which caused me to almost burst out of laughter but I held it in so that I wouldn't get caught.

The monsters were using their nose to sniff out my scent but I was cautious enough to conceal my scent.

It was only a matter of time before the monsters were going to battle each other since their prey was nowhere to be found.

Since their prey had escaped, it was an instinct of an animal, and monsters weren't excluded from such instinct which was to find another prey that was near them.

I was several meters away from the monsters so I wouldn't be located by the monsters which should make me alright for now.

Even if the monsters found where I am, I would prove to them that I wasn't an easy prey by making it harder for them to eat me.

I was a predator that loves to eat other monster's meat so as I was at the top of the food chain, I developed a sense of pride in not wanting other predators to surpass me.

I should be able to kill any monsters even if they were out of my league by spending all of my mana to cast [Magnificence Of The Sun].

But by using all of my mana, I could only bring down one monster and it would leave me in a state where I couldn't use mana for several hours due to exhausting my mana pool.

Mana recovery would be at peak speed if there was some mana left in the mana pool and if none were left, then it would result in having a slow mana recovery.

I would at least leave one mana point in my mana pool if I decided to use all of the skills in my arsenal to defeat the monsters.

It was a great decision for me to leave my teammates inside the protective array and not let them join me in fighting against the monsters since they would become a burden for me.

Well, except for Sophie since she was an expert in both assassination and escape techniques so even if she wouldn't be able to kill the monsters, she would still be able to safely escape from the grasps of the monsters.

I should have let my teammates became much stronger before we embarked on our journey to the Monster's Abode since it would have let me had more assistance in defeating the high-level monsters.

Well anyway, I'll just turn myself into a high-level player and party up with my teammates to let them ride a bus.

I checked up upon the monsters with the use of the mana eye and observed the movements and actions of the monsters.

The monsters were still in a passive state while glaring at each other and it was clear that they had the intention to attack each other so it was only a matter of time for me to ambush them when they expended most of their stamina and strength when battling against each other.

It was the most ideal mindset that a predator needed to possess which was to find several opportunities to gain something from the battle of other animals.

Even though that kind of action might be referred to as cowardly, it was still better than nothing since it would grant the user of the action less energy to expend in defeating another predator.

I only needed to patiently wait for the monsters to battle against each other and reap the benefits from the end of the battle.

It was a battle tactic of vultures since they would wait for other predators to fight amongst themselves and eat the leftover of the predator that had won the battle.

I waited for several minutes until I discovered a subtle movement amongst the monsters which lead me to found out that one of the fastest amongst the monsters had already made its move.

It was a level 75,000 fury cheetah and it was running towards one of the monsters while it opened its mouth that was filled with sharp teeth.

I was having a hard time observing the movements of the level 75,000 fury cheetah even by concentrating my eyes.

The speed of the level 75,000 fury cheetah had almost surpassed the speed of light and it was only a matter of nanoseconds before the level 75,000 fury cheetah bit the monster it had targeted at.

In a blink of an eye, the level 75,000 fury cheetah had already bitten its opponent and was already trying to tear off the neck of its opponent away from its body.

And with another blink of an eye, the head with the neck of a certain high-level monster was severed from its body in an instant.

The cause of such action was the level 75,000 fury cheetah and it was at a fast speed that just by blinking my eyes, I would see it in skip moments

Even if I wouldn't blink, I still wouldn't be able to see the movements of the level 75,000 fury cheetah so I decided to keep on blinking since stopping wouldn't do me any benefits.

The other monsters besides the level 75,000 fury cheetah were also similarly impressive.

A level 73,000 silver armor armadillo was rolling on its enemy which was a gruesome sight that I had witnessed since its prey was squashed to death.

The flesh of the monster that was kept on rolled by the level 73,000 silver armor armadillo was being ground further and because of the rotating motion, the flesh and blood of that said monster were flying in the opposite direction of the level 73,000 silver armor armadillo.

A lot of the monsters were brutal such as the level 76,000 shadow ravage tiger.

The level 76,000 shadow ravage tiger would tear its opponent monster into several bits of flesh until it was similar to ground meat using its sharp claws and often its teeth.

I was only able to witness the gruesome scene of the monsters battling against each other.

A ten thousand level difference between the monsters was enough to be called prey against the other high-level monsters.

Even a level 60,000 monster that was way out of my league only preyed against monsters at a ten thousand level higher than it.

Just witnessing the scene of the monsters battling against each other, made me rethink what I would do against the monsters.

I knew now that my attacks wouldn't do anything against the monsters that were several ten thousand levels higher than me.

I thought that I could close the level gap between me and the monsters using my skills but it seemed that was just my wishful thinking.

Even by using my arsenal of skills, it wouldn't do anything against the high-level monsters.

I thought that a mere ten thousand level gap was enough between the monster and I wasn't that huge of a gap but it seemed that I was mistaken.

The difference between a level 50,000 monster and a level 60,000 monster was like heaven and earth.

That meant that even though the demon lords were only level 100,000 or maybe several levels higher than level 100,000, it was still huge of a gap unless I was level 95,000.

I also found out that if I had a skill that could let me increase and boost my stats, why wouldn't the demon lords possess similar skills?

Wouldn't it be overkill if the demon lords wreaked havoc upon the entire continent of other races?

I knew that the demon lords were still weren't able to personally make a move against other beings from different races because of a treaty.

I'm not sure of what's the penalty stated in the past but I had read from the documents in the Elven Library that it was because of the ancestors of each race that acted as a guarding of each race.

I also found out that there were 3 demon ancestors in the demon continent and they were only forced to remain dormant because of the presence of other guardians from different races.

There were a few thousand-year-old freaks from each race who acted as a race's guardian.

I found out that although there wasn't any ancestor that was still alive in the goblin race, the goblin race's ancestor was still on good terms with other ancestors from other races so they would still defend the descendants of other races from the threat of the demons.

I was somewhat interested in learning more about this world's history so I took out a book from my system inventory and read it to past time.

Reading a book was better than witnessing a gory battle scene between high-level monsters.
