Chapter 72: He Just saw a play.
Chapter 72
The young man stopped the car and turned his head, looking at Ling Yue and Lan Ji with a chilling smile, "Of course this is my home." Once they entered here, they would be like turtles in a jar, unable to leave unless carried out.
"Oh? Then we should take a good look around," Ling Yue said with a half-smile, her phoenix-like eyes glistening with an icy killing intent.
Lan Ji had already known the young man's intent, but as a practitioner of ancient martial arts, it wouldn't be difficult for him to take Yue with him and leave this place with his speed.
Looking at Ling Yue, he saw her give him a subtle signal with her eyes, and he nodded calmly in response. Yue was composed; since she had decided to follow the other party here, she must have had a plan.
"Cousin, give me your hand," Ling Yue extended her hand.
Lan Ji gave her his hand, and Ling Yue grasped it, a silent white light sinking into his palm. He was a practitioner of ancient martial arts, but that didn't make him invulnerable. After the car entered the estate, she had noticed the tight security, with every guard carrying weapons.
"Stop dilly-dallying, get out of the car," the young man revealed his true colors, pulling out a gun and aiming it at Ling Yue and Lan Ji.
Ling Yue withdrew her hand, stepped out of the car, and glanced around, a cold arc crossing her lips.
The young man led Ling Yue and Lan Ji into the house. As soon as they entered, they saw three tall, fierce-looking men beating a man and a woman. The woman was already on the verge of collapse, though she didn't seem to have any physical injuries. The man, however, was not so lucky, with his clothes stained red with blood, and his face covered in it, his original appearance indiscernible.
"As long as you cooperate obediently, we won't harm you. But if you resist, then they will be your cautionary tale," the young man pointed at the two people on the ground.
Ling Yue let out a low chuckle, as if she had heard a joke.
The young man narrowed his eyes dangerously, "Now take off the mask on your face, and go kneel over there." He barked the order at Ling Yue. Some of those captured earlier had refused to obey, and their ultimate fate was to be executed on the spot, with their organs harvested.
Ling Yue didn't move.
Lan Ji looked at Ling Yue questioningly. With just one word from her, he would immediately take her and leave.
The young man grew irritated, aiming his gun at Ling Yue's forehead, "Since you're seeking death, I'll grant you that wish." As he spoke, he pulled the trigger.
But in the next moment, he felt an overwhelming, terrifying aura, his whole body feeling like it was crushed by a giant rock, or like he was drowning, unable to even catch his breath.
The other three men experienced the same thing, their faces gradually losing color, hands grasping randomly in pain, their eyeballs even bulging out, with blood slowly seeping from their noses and mouths.
Lan Ji watched the four men on the ground, filled with shock. Yue was actually capable of projecting her aura outward, her power was so terrifying, no wonder she had maintained a calm and composed demeanor from start to finish. Her strength was many times greater than his. He had clearly underestimated his cousin.
The four men quickly lost their lives in agony.
"Let's go elsewhere," Ling Yue withdrew her gaze and started walking forward. Since they had come here, she would take care of this place today.
"Oh!" Lan Ji nodded dazedly and followed Ling Yue.
Along the way, heartrending screams kept echoing from various rooms.
Ling Yue and Lan Ji swept through room after room, those people didn't even have time to pick up their weapons before being dispatched by the two.
Ling Yue kicked open the door to one room, revealing seven or eight women huddled on the floor, their hair in disarray. Seeing someone enter, they shrank back in fear.
"If you want to leave this place, follow us," Ling Yue said to them, then turned and walked out of the room. This was the last room, and all the henchmen in the villa had been wiped out by them.
The women exchanged glances and hurriedly followed Ling Yue and Lan Ji. They had suffered immense torment after being captured here, so they naturally didn't want to miss this opportunity to escape.
Following Ling Yue and Lan Ji outside, they saw the people they had rescued earlier, crouching on the lawn outside, surrounded by over a hundred armed men aiming their weapons at them.
Seeing Ling Yue and Lan Ji, some of the men turned their weapons toward them.
The few women following behind Ling Yue and Lan Ji quickly crouched down, trembling in fear, their eyes filled with despair. They knew that if they couldn't escape this time, they would face the depths of hell.
Ling Yue and Lan Ji acted as if they didn't even notice the weapons in the men's hands, maintaining their calm demeanor.
"Clap, clap, clap!" With a crisp round of applause, a tall man emerged from the crowd, his head shaved, skin dark, a vicious scar on his left cheek. At first glance, it was clear he was a ruthless character.
"No wonder you dared to kill so many of my men, you certainly have some guts. But since you've come here, don't think about leaving again, or I can't guarantee you won't end up as bloody messes." Dan Tuo sneered coldly at Ling Yue and Lan Ji, his narrow eyes radiating a chilling glare. These two didn't seem like simple characters. If they were willing to work for him, he would spare them for now. But if they insisted on defying him, then he couldn't be blamed for being ruthless.
Ling Yue let out a light laugh, as if she had heard a joke, meeting Dan Tuo's icy, sinister gaze, "Then you can try to see whether it's us who end up as bloody messes, or your men here, including you, without a single one left."
Instead of growing angry, Dan Tuo laughed, slowly raising his hand, "I'll give you one last chance. If I put my hand down, you'll have no chance to regret it."
Ling Yue made a mocking gesture, her attitude extremely arrogant.
If it weren't for the hundreds of guns aimed at them now, Lan Ji wouldn't have been able to hold back his laughter. His cousin was simply too arrogant, too freaking cool. If there was a camera, he would have recorded this scene to show everyone back in the Valley of Divine Doctors this awe-inspiring side of Yue. He wholeheartedly gave her a mental "bow" of respect.
Dan Tuo had never encountered someone so arrogant and fearless in the face of death. He was both enraged and incensed, wanting to order his men to open fire, but somehow he just couldn't put his hand down. This interesting woman, he was reluctant to let her disappear from this world. What should he do?
His gaze shifted to Lan Ji, "Kill him first."
His subordinates turned their guns toward Lan Ji.
Lan Ji looked on with resignation. He was just there to watch the show. Did he really look that easy to bully?
