Reincarnated into a New World As a Vampire

Chapter 143 The Vampire Society

Some time later, Aldritch met with the elders of his family to relay the news of his meeting with the ruler of the vampire society, Nahila Ven'dralis. As expected, everyone had a similar reaction, but Aldritch explained to them that it was all part of his plan, and things were goung accordingly, for the time being.

He was certain that the ruler had noticed his little scheme, but also, that she wouldn't mind.

After their meeting, Aeress met with Aldritch privately.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Aeress stepped into Aldritch's tent, her gaze meeting Aldritch's as he stood by his desk, he appeared to always be busy recently.

"Lord Aldritch," Aeress began.

Aldritch raised an eyebrow, gesturing for her to continue.

"The witches and I have agreed to follow you faithfully, but this… partnership with the Vampire Society you mentioned, I have my doubts. What assurance do we have that they won't turn on us once they've gained what they want?"

Aldritch set some papers down and turned to her calmly. "You couldn't attend the meeting, Aeress. I don't expect you to trust them. Frankly, I don't trust them either."

Her surprise was evident, though she quickly masked it. "Then why align with them at all?"

"Because I'm certain they won't betray us anytime soon at the very least," Aldritch replied. "Then again, they have resources and influence that we cannot afford to ignore. If we want to grow beyond what we are now, this partnership is necessary. Aside from that, I'm certain we'll be safe for some time, I've planned for it with information from Lodestar already, you don't have to worry."

The conviction in his voice seemed to ease her concerns, though the tension in her stance remained. "Very well," she said finally. "We willbe ready to move when the time comes."

"Good," Aldritch said with a nod. "Prepare, we leave tonight."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the camp bustled with activity. Over a thousand vampires gathered in neat formations, their belongings packed and ready for the journey. At the center of the camp, the second envoy who had returned some time ago stood before a towering magical construct, a shimmering, circular gate.

The spatial gate pulsed with raw energy, its surface rippling like water. The envoy raised his hands, weaving magic into the air as he chanted softly. Soon, the gate stabilized, revealing a swirling vortex within the rippling water.

One of the noble family heads stepped forward, his voice commanding. "Prepare yourselves. We travel to the heart of the Vampire Society. Stay in formation, and follow my lead."

The vampires murmured their assent, their excitement and apprehension palpable. One by one, they began to step through the gate, vanishing into its depths.

As more and more passed through, it came time for the last of the vampires to go.

A;dritch watched as they left one after the other, and when it was time for him to go, he stepped through the vortex, his form swallowed by the swirling energy.

Stepping through the gate felt like walking through thick fog, the sensation disorienting yet fleeting. When Aldritch emerged on the other side, the sight before him was nothing short of breathtaking.

A vast expanse stretched out beneath a sunless sky that was cloaked in thick, dark clouds that allowed only the faintest rays of light to pierce through. The air was cool and thick with magic, carrying a subtle, otherworldly feel.

The landscape was lush with low-growing trees and grass, their dark green colours contrasting sharply with the pale stone of the castles dotting the horizon. Each castle was a masterpiece of architecture, their spires reaching skyward like elegant talons. Bridges of black stone arched over glimmering streams and high rocks, and the streets between them teemed with vampires.

From Aldritch's people, gasps of awe and murmurs of wonder rippled through the crowd as they took in their surroundings.

"This…" Ingrid whispered, her eyes wide. "This is the Vampire Society?"

"Impressive, isn't it?" the second envoy said, stepping forward. "The heart of our domain, where only the strongest and most loyal reside."

Aldritch said nothing, his gaze sweeping over the scene. He noted the sharp lines of the castles, the efficiency of the Society's infrastructure, and the palpable sense of power that hung in the air.

"It's beautiful," one of his subordinates murmured, earning a few nods of agreement.

The envoy gestured for them to follow. "Her Majesty has prepared a temporary accommodation for you and your people. I will escort you to your quarters."

As the group moved through the Society's domain, Aldritch couldn't help but feel the weight of countless eyes upon him. Vampires of varying ranks paused to observe the newcomers, their expressions a mixture of curiosity, respect, and wariness.

"They're sizing us up," Lina muttered, her tone laced with suspicion.

"I doubt that's the case. Can you stop thinking about fighting?" Olgud said in a low voice as he walked beside Lina.

The envoy led them to a sprawling castle of the main district. Its design was elegant yet imposing, with towering walls and wide halls bathed in a faint crimson glow.

"This will be your temporary stay for the time being," the envoy said. "Her Majesty will summon you when she is ready to meet."

Aldritch nodded, his expression unreadable. "Thank you."

As the sunless sky above the Vampire Society's domain cast an eternal twilight, the faint light filtering through dense, dark clouds, Aldritch stood at the front of his temporary settlement, his sharp gaze taking in the sprawling structure before him. It was truly a modest castle, more than anything he had seen before in the lower world.

Before long, a tall vampire with a gaunt face and piercing crimson eyes approached. His demeanor was formal, his stride purposeful as he came towards Aldritch. "Lord Aldritch," he said with a slight bow. "Welcome. I am Gavros, an attendant to the council of elders. The elders have summoned you to an audience. I am to escort you there immediately."
