Chapter 84 84: Sweeping the Path
Usher's furious, powerless roar echoed through the stronghold, leaving his subordinates too afraid to even breathe too loudly. Even the domestic esports elite, SSR, couldn't raise their heads before him, reduced to mere pawns in his hands. But this domineering situation was about to be shattered—by one person's appearance.
"Don't overthink it. Just go to hell," came a cold voice.
The sound of war drums echoed as a single person and a monster waited above Bone Dragon Stronghold.
"He's here… that bastard's here! Prepare for battle!"
"For the boss, for becoming the strongest guild in Infinite Dimensions, kill!"
Hundreds of players from the Dragon's Kiss Guild were enraged by Orson's actions, but against a Chaos Mage with nearly a five-kilometer range, their roars would soon turn into a mournful song.
"Die!"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Orson swung his weapon, unleashing his most powerful attack—the Heavenly Meteor Strike!
Bone Dragon Stronghold was ruthlessly destroyed. Usher watched helplessly as the terrifying meteor fell. This was the greatest humiliation of his life, his ambition to rule Infinite Dimensions crushed by Orson.
Forget being the richest player in Infinite Dimensions, before the power of the Saint's Staff, Usher could only bow his head!
Orson stood tall, ignoring everything. Wherever Usher's soul fled, Orson would follow and strike!
He was establishing his dominance, showing every player that there was no such thing as an invincible legend in Infinite Dimensions. If it existed, he would shatter it.
"The Godslayer Guild is rebelling! Does he not know who he's offending?"
"One attack, and it's as powerful as a forbidden spell! This is really like grinding Usher's face into the dirt."
"This is what true pursuit to the death looks like! From now on, Dragon's Kiss Guild members will run at the sight of him!"
Many players stopped grinding and leveling, opening the official live stream instead. All eyes were on Orson, who chased Usher's fleeing soul across the sky.
Soon after, the Godslayer, Moonlight Guild, Slaughter, and The King Family alliances mobilized to various battlefields. According to Orson's plan, any encounter with SSR or Dragon's Kiss Guild was a fight to the death. He swept through, leaving both guilds in ruins.
Other guilds that had settled in strongholds trembled and quickly reached out to the more reasonable ShatteredCrown for mercy. But ShatteredCrown simply responded, "You didn't offend my boss, so why should I care?"
This reassured the other guilds, though not by much.
"Bone Dragon Stronghold, I'm back!" Bradley laughed loudly, his voice filled with pride. He had become a killing machine in this guild battle, with countless players witnessing the terror of the Light and Dark Swordmaster through the livestream.
Able to push Usher to the brink of defeat, had it not been for the invincible mechanism of the Saint's Avatar, Bradley might've already captured Usher.
Outside Bone Dragon Stronghold, Madman and his team took down four nearby strongholds. With Orson as the terrifying front-runner, Dragon's Kiss Guild stood little chance, and Usher had died five times, each in a different way.
"I swear… easy, man! You're going to the second battlefield to deal with him? Too risky."
Madman was stunned, watching Orgod, who showed no sign of stopping. With a roar, the Crimson Lizard King set off again.
"Can't wait to see this!"
Bradley, grinning maliciously, chuckled. As someone who typically saved every penny for his wife's dowry, he understood that his brother was exacting revenge for him. Of course, he had to show some support.
"Spa, KTV, five-star hotel—all in one! I'll treat you tonight, Orson!" Bradley shouted.
"Wait till I carve you up!" Orson laughed back.
Bradley: "You know what's up, I've killed 1,120 enemies and assisted in more. My achievement points are 2,000, so the bill comes from my salary."
Orson: "Fuck you."
"Hold the line! Do whatever it takes to hold the line!" Reaver, face flushed, yelled as enemies surged toward them.
"How could we lose so badly?" DonutWizard's face was pale, his morale shattered. Even his casting motions had become sluggish.
A group of pro players, used to crushing regular players, was now getting trapped and killed by them.
One stronghold after another fell. Windy Moon Fortress was their last large base, but it was about to be breached.
"I hear you're an S-class mage. Funny, so am I!"
Just as DonutWizard hesitated, a frozen spear sliced through the air, forcing him back. Standing before him was ShatteredCrown, another S-class mage.
A few hours ago, ShatteredCrown had undergone his professional awakening at the Mage Guild, where he witnessed a program bug involving an "NPC" breaking a magic stone. Using his lavish gear and skills, he successfully replicated the NPC's actions and awakened the second S-class mage job: Ice and Fire Sage.
Realizing the situation, DonutWizard quickly cast a counterspell, engaging in a magical duel. His technical skills were sharp, and it wasn't surprising that he was part of the SSR elite.
But… he was up against an unreasonable god-tier player.
"Ugh, missed again! Damn it, don't run away!"
ShatteredCrown grumbled as his operations were sloppy. Yet, he had so many resources that even his botched actions couldn't stop his overwhelming power.
"Thunder Strike!"
"Ice Seal!"
ShatteredCrown grinned, unleashing two awakening skills along with three B-tier abilities, bombarding DonutWizard with an all-out attack.
Crit -1200!
Crit -1200!
...
With a minute of unrelenting damage, DonutWizard, even with priest support, was steadily driven back.
ShatteredCrown wore a full set of purple gear from Orson's auctioned Fox Tribe set, alongside three pieces of the "Frozen Lord" set. His Ice and Fire Sage job synergized perfectly with this setup, making him an unstoppable mage.
"Very well, we've won," Orson said, appearing at Windy Moon Fortress and quickly assessing the situation.
"Why's this not hurting at all?"
A tall blonde woman laughed, her voice almost deafening. Orson shook his head, slightly annoyed.
"Brothers, can you put in some effort? I only have 16,000 HP, not much at all! Come on, hit me!"
The King Family produced only the finest—everyone, regardless of gender, was a show-off.
More than ten players surrounded the Ultimate Sweetheart, but her silver hollow armor deflected half the attacks.
Her shocking health made even the SSR experts helpless.
Clearly, her gear also came from Orson.
ShatteredCrown's other seniors went all in with the "luxury tactics." Though their skills were lacking, their overwhelming wealth allowed them to simply outlast SSR.
At this stage, with top-tier gear, skills, and jobs, they could easily overwhelm SSR players just by spending money.
Additionally, there was a low-profile yet powerful young master with an S-class life skill—Black Silk. The food he made could massively boost player stats, and The King Family's members all enjoyed the "Dark Cuisine" buff, which was tough for SSR to counter.
"This is the nightmare your beloved man brought!"
Wedge, surrounded by melee fighters, had dropped to level 8. Yet, she still refused to surrender, trying to preserve SSR's dignity.
She glared at Snow Dream. "How do you expect me to explain this loss to the boss? Tell me!"
Snow Dream looked up at the godly figure in the sky, whispering, "I've tried my best. This isn't 'Sword and Conquest.' We can't control everything here."
ShatteredCrown: "Get back, my master's about to unleash his ultimate move! Everyone, run as far as you can!"
A blood-red hexagram glowed as Orson prepared to wipe out SSR.
Wedge glared at him with venom but quickly led her team to escape, trying to break combat and log out as fast as possible.
"What? You guys don't want to live? I'm out!" A player who had witnessed Orgod's power quickly fled.
Orson hesitated, not attacking immediately as Slaughter Guild had just arrived. A strike now might hurt their side as well.
