I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 940: Setting Out

Chapter 940: Setting Out

After the competition end, there was an awards ceremony. When Wallace handed the ribbons and trophies to Robert, he felt deeply moved and patted his junior's shoulder, almost on the verge of tears.

Due to their roles as a disciple under the same master, Robert as a junior had carried a lot of unnecessary pressure. Wallace had always felt guilty about this. Today, seeing how excellent his junior had become, his emotions ran deep, but he was mostly proud.

Seeing his senior's expression that seemed to say, "My junior has grown up," Robert couldn't help but smile and shake his head, thinking it was unnecessary.

Later, in order to celebrate his friend's championship, Yuga invited Robert, Kris, and Wallace to his home, and asked Audino to prepared a lavish feast for them to celebrated.

The Wallace Cup was successfully concluded. On the second day, because there were still some things to finish, Yuga, Wallace, and Mayor Ishida had another busy day.

During the preparation and hosting of the Wallace Cup, the competition had brought a significant influx of people to Verdanturf Town. The town's economy had visibly improved, and Mayor Ishida couldn't stop smiling when he saw Wallace.

The organization of the Wallace Cup had undoubtedly brought considerable economic benefits to Verdanturf Town. According to Mayor Ishida, many investors had noticed the investment potential of Verdanturf Town because of this competition, and they were approaching him to discuss potential investments.

Yuga was delighted to see the development benefits that the Wallace Cup had brought to Verdanturf Town. After all, one of the reasons he agreed to cooperate with Dewin was to help Verdanturf Town prosper.

Only when Verdanturf Town thrived could his YoYo Day Care grow, become successful, and go global! Allowing him to have a comfortable live as a Gym Leader.

Being a Gym Leader was one of the town's actual administrators. The better he developed the town, the more achievements he could earn from the League, making it more likely for him to be recognized as a veteran Gym Leader.

Of course, "veteran Gym Leader" was the thing that everyone called it only in private ; the formal title was "Honorary Gym Leader."

Only as an Honorary Gym Leader could one pass on the position of Gym Leader directly, just like Mr. Juan had passed the Gym Leader position to Wallace. For newcomers like Yuga, if they were removed from their position, the Gym would be disbanded.

This was the difference between Gym Leaders. Only when they became Honorary Gym Leaders could they truly have a stable position within the League.

After Yuga finished the follow-up work of the Wallace Cup, Lovich's older sister, Kerry, came to visit. After completing the transaction with Kerry, Little Drew's mother brought her son, Little Drew, to visit YoYo Day Care.

Yuga was surprised by the business brought in by Little Drew's mother. He hadn't expected that selling a single Pokémon would lead to unexpected gains.

The Little Drew family had been in the flower cultivating industry for generations, making them the leaders in the field. They had numerous flower cultivation bases.

Their family usually cultivates flowers and pairs them with butterfly or bee Pokémon to enhance the beauty of the flowers. This is the secret behind their flowers' long-lasting popularity in the market.

However, butterfly and bee Pokémon have short lifespans, and their family is not a group of Trainers. Therefore, these butterfly and bee Pokémon age and pass away naturally.

As a result, they have a high demand for butterfly and bee Pokémon.

Of course, sometimes they face an imbalance between purchased butterfly Pokémon and deceased ones, leading to an excess of butterfly Pokémon in their flower cultivation base.

But they have a solution.

Hoenn region is an area known for its berry production, and there are numerous islands surrounding the mainland, each with various berry plantations, mostly privately owned.

Every year, when berry trees come into bloom, they require a large number of butterfly or bee Pokémon for pollination. Their family cooperates with many berry plantations. When berry growers need butterfly Pokémon, their family transfers their surplus Pokémon to them.

Their flower cultivation base is also located on one of the islands surrounding the mainland, where there are berry growers in need of butterfly or bee Pokémon.

They used to have their own partnered butterfly Pokémon Day Care, but in recent years, the quality of butterfly Pokémon provided by that Day Care has deteriorated. Some of them even died within two or three years.

Even though butterfly Pokémon have short lifespans, it shouldn't be as short as that. Immediately, Little Drew's parents realized that the other party was trying to take advantage of them.

Little Drew's father had always looked down upon people who used such tricks to gain advantages. Their family business was significant, and they didn't lack for Pokémon Day Care to cooperate with.

The League's Pokémon Day Care Center were beyond their reach, and private Pokémon Day Care were abundant.

To minimize their losses, Little Drew's family recently terminated their cooperation with the other party.

A few days ago, when Little Drew's mother called home to recommend YoYo Day Care to her husband, Little Drew's father readily agreed.

He had heard about YoYo Day Care a long time ago, and with Yuga's reputation, he believed that if cooperation could be reached, it would be a good thing for them.

As a Gym Leader and a Elite level Trainer, Yuga's identity provided assurance. Little Drew's father didn't think that someone with such a prestigious status in the League would resort to petty tactics for small profits.

It had to be said that Yuga's position as a Gym Leader did indeed provide many conveniences in the business world. Leaving aside everything else, just having this layer of status made many people willing to trust him.

In the hearts of ordinary people, the Pokémon League held a high position.

Little Drew's mother had been helping her husband manage the business at home for a long time, so for her, discussing cooperation with YoYo Day Care was a straightforward matter.

Both parties were eager to cooperate, so the partnership was quickly sealed.

Since the establishment of the Insect Paradise, butterfly Pokémon, which originally reproduced rapidly, had been increasing in number. Yuga felt that it wouldn't be long before these butterfly Pokémon would became a burden for him.

It could be said that Little Drew's mother's business deal came at just the right time.

Because regular butterfly Pokémon didn't have breeding costs for Yuga, he offered a significant price discount to Little Drew's family.

After discussing the cooperation with Little Drew's mother, Yuga had a new plan.

Currently, every household in Verdanturf Town had their own Grass-type Pokémon. Yuga thought that it would be perfect to pair them with a butterfly Pokémon.

In the development of agriculture, the role of Butterfly and bee Pokémon was very crucial.

Although there were already many people coming to Verdanturf Town to discuss investments, Yuga and Mayor Ishida believed that the town's primary development direction should still revolve around becoming an Agricultural Town.

Verdanturf Town's biggest advantage was its unique geographical environment and natural agricultural ecology. To preserve this advantage, the best development strategy was to vigorously promote eco-friendly agriculture in Verdanturf Town while also boosting the tourism industry.

Currently, they had achieved some success in this regard.

Due to the prevalence of Grass-type Pokémon, Verdanturf Town's specialty agriculture had already attracted a considerable number of tourists. Yuga believed that by promoting butterfly Pokémon further, they could not only advance the development of specialty agriculture but also beautify the appearance of Verdanturf Town, achieving a win-win situation.

Of course, this was Yuga's personal idea, and he would need to discuss the specifics with Mayor Ishida.

Yuga was an amateur when it came to urban development. Although his main goal was to do business, he didn't want to mess things up. If Mayor Ishida deemed this plan unworkable, he wouldn't implement it recklessly.

The next day, Yuga received a message from Joyka informing him that Joyna had arrived in Verdanturf Town, and he met Joyna at the Verdanturf Town Pokémon Center.

Although this was only the second time Yuga had seen Joyna, he had a deep impression of her because his initial concept of "strength" in the profession of Trainers came from her.

"Hey, long time no see, kid!"

As soon as Joyna saw Yuga, she greeted him cheerfully.

According to Joyka, Joyna had been step down from her position in Sinnoh and was being reassigned in Kanto region, so she was passing through Hoenn region and, conveniently, picking up Yuga to travel to Kanto together.

Yuga respectfully bowed to Joyna and said, "Long time no see, Miss Joyna."

Joyna patted Yuga's shoulder when she saw his formality. "No need to be so formal. Just treat me the same way you treat Joyka. How you get along with her is how you should get along with me."

Joyna was almost ten years older than Yuga, so treating her with the same familiarity as he did with Joyka wasn't something he could easily do. He smiled and didn't say much in response to Joyna's words.

Joyna didn't get upset at his reaction; due to her status, she rarely encountered people who treated her with a relaxed attitude. So, she wasn't surprised by Yuga's response.

"Because our schedule is quite tight, we'll be leaving early tomorrow. Do you have any issues on your end?" Joyna inquired of Yuga.

She had traveled to Hoenn region on Joy family's private aircraft, so she could decide her departure time. However, she couldn't afford any delays.

"No problem!" Yuga nodded in response. The follow-up tasks for the Wallace Cup had already been handled, and Mayor Ishida would take care of the rest. In this regard, Mayor Ishida had given him a lot of freedom.

After discussing the arrangements for their trip to Kanto region with Joyna at the Pokémon Center, Yuga returned to the YoYo Day Care. At this moment, Wallace, Robert, and Kris were all waiting in the shop.

They had all come to say their goodbyes.

Wallace was a busy person by nature and couldn't stay in Verdanturf Town for too long. Robert wanted to explore the outside world, inspired by Kris's experiences in the Kalos region.

As for Kris, she felt that her stage experience in Pokémon Contest was lacking, so she planned to stay in Hoenn region to participate in some regular Pokémon Contest before joining this year's Pokémon Contest Grand Festival.

On the day after Robert and the others left, Yuga boarded Joy family's aircraft and set off to Kanto.

However, right after he left, Sora, who had some free time, came to visit YoYo Day Care. Upon hearing the news of Yuga's departure, Sora let out a disappointed sigh.
