I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 124: Test (Part 1)

Chapter 124: Test (Part 1)

"In fact, I came here to visit you this time," Yuga said somewhat embarrassed.

"Visit me?" Mr. Milton asked, puzzled.

"Yes, you know I run a Day Care. There are many young Pokémon at home, and these young Pokémon are in great need of nourishing items like Moomoo Milk."

"But in Hoenn Region, we don't have a ranch as big as yours, and the quantity of Miltank is also limited. So, I took this opportunity during the conference to come here and see if you could spare a few Miltank for me." Yuga clearly stated his purpose to Mr. Milton.

"I see." Mr. Milton lowered his head in thought. "Giving you some is not out of the question, but you also know that these Miltank are the result of my lifetime efforts. If you want to obtain them, I need to test you."

"Test me?" Yuga asked with confusion.

"Yes." At this point, Mr. Milton's expression turned serious.

"Grandpa, Yuga saved my life. You have so many Miltank here, what's the big deal about giving him a few? You don't have to put him through a test," Whitney couldn't bear to see her grandfather making things difficult for her savior and pouted while acting coquettish towards Mr. Milton.

"Shut up." Mr. Milton slapped away Whitney's arm that was clinging to his, "When you're capable of winning against others, then you can come to plead on someone else's behalf."

"Hmph." Whitney, seeing that her grandpa was ignoring her request, turned her body away, pretending to ignore Mr. Milton. But Mr. Milton paid no attention to her tantrum.

Yuga hadn't expected that obtaining Miltank would be an easy task this time, so he agreed to Mr. Milton's request, "Sure, what kind of test is it? Whether it's a Pokémon battle or something else, I have no problem."

Yuga thought that as a Gym Leader, Mr. Milton might test him through a Pokémon battle. However, it was evident that his guess was incorrect.

"Do you have any plans for the next few days?" Mr. Milton asked Yuga.

"No, nothing urgent," Yuga replied honestly, even though he wasn't sure why Mr. Milton was asking this.

"In that case, stay at my ranch for a few days."

"Stay at your ranch for a few days?" Yuga said in surprise.

"What's the matter? Any objections?" Mr. Milton's expression turned stern, completely different from the friendly demeanor he had shown before. "If you have objections, you can leave now."

"No problem, no problem." Yuga didn't have anything important to attend to in the coming days, and staying at the ranch for a few days wouldn't be an issue. So, he agreed.

"Very well. If you perform satisfactorily during these few days, I'll grant your request."

"I promise to meet your expectations!" Yuga said happily.

"Don't be in a rush to promise. Let's see if you can deliver first," Mr. Milton glanced at Yuga and then turned around and walked away.

Watching Mr. Milton leave, Yuga turned to Rand who was sitting nearby and asked, "Rand, we'll be staying here for a few days. Are you okay with that?"

Rand shook his head, indicating that he had no problem. In fact, he quite liked it here. The natural environment was completely different from Hoenn Region, and there were so many Miltank he had never seen before, which made him feel excited and intrigued.

Yuga patted Rand's shoulder happily, "Good, I'm not treating you wrongly, bro."

Afterward, Yuga called Reggie, informing him that he couldn't return and to take action after the conference ended.

Initially, Yuga and Reggie were also planning to part ways after the conference. Previously, Reggie had come to Johto from Sinnoh Region by boat to accompany his grandfather to visit friends in Hoenn Region. Now, when he returned, he could simply take the boat directly back to Sinnoh Region with his grandfather, without needing to take the detour to Hoenn Region.

After explaining the reasons to Reggie, Yuga and Rand were arranged to stay at Moomoo Ranch under the arrangements of Whitney.

The next morning, Yuga got up early as usual to train with his Pokémon. This had become a habit for him. During their journey by boat, it wasn't convenient to train, but now at Moomoo Ranch, he had no problem doing so.

Mr. Milton had initially planned to wake Yuga up early, but when he went to Yuga and Rand's room, he found that Yuga was already gone. He later found Yuga training with his Pokémon on the grassy field.

Satisfied, Mr. Milton nodded in approval. Yes, he's diligent enough. No wonder his strength is so impressive. Then, he couldn't help but shake his head in helplessness when he thought of his own granddaughter who was still sleeping.

Unbeknownst to Yuga, he was unconsciously earning more favorable points in Mr. Milton's eyes.

Watching Yuga finish his training with his Pokémon, Mr. Milton had breakfast with him. As for Rand and Whitney, who were still in bed, Mr. Milton had prepared breakfast for them as well.

"Your task this morning is to feed the Miltank with Pokémon food. Although Miltank mainly eat grass, they also need some Pokémon food as supplements. This not only helps them grow healthily but also aids in their milk production."

While explaining, Mr. Milton took Yuga to the storage warehouse where the Miltank food was kept. He pointed out the various types of Pokémon food that would be needed and told Yuga the amount required for each Miltank.

After explaining the feeding process, Mr. Milton went on to explain the task of cleaning the pasture.

"Next, you'll need to clean the pasture. Remove the excrement of the Miltank and check for any harmful rubbish on the grassland to prevent the Miltank from ingesting them."

These were all tasks that Yuga had never done before. In his Ecopark, there was no need to worry about harmful waste, as the system would automatically take care of the cleaning. Yuga realized how much convenience the system had brought to him, saving so much manpower and effort.

Grateful for the system, Yuga silently said to himself, "Long live the system!"

"After cleaning the pasture, you'll also need to help clean the Miltank's bodies."

"You don't need to use water; it's too troublesome. Just use these soft brushes to groom their fur. I usually bathe them every three days, but for the rest of the time, use these brushes."

Mr. Milton took out a brush from somewhere and showed it to Yuga as he explained.

Yuga nodded helplessly. Finally, he couldn't resist asking, "With so many Miltank here, are you the only one taking care of them?"

Mr. Milton replied somewhat irritably, "What do you think? Have you seen anyone else here? Can I rely on that lazy girl, Whitney?"

Yuga awkwardly smiled, "Hehe, you have a point."

"Alright, that's the tasks for the morning. Let's see how well you perform."

Yuga hadn't imagined that his test would involve personally taking care of the entire Moomoo Ranch's Miltank. It was almost like demanding his life.
