I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 259: Oracion Alma

Chapter 259: Oracion Alma

A dark organization created for the sole purpose of collecting souls, the Oracion Alma. They send puppets, which are people from the poorest of the poor. The organization offers their family a good life in exchange for one family member's lifetime of service to them.

The driver Elliot encountered was one of those victims. A man in his middle ages named Billy. He lived in the streets as a father of four children. The Oracion Alma saw him and offered him a once in a lifetime opportunity, to let his children live in luxury.

In exchange for this was his life. He would devote his heart, body, and soul to the organization. Once he would try to go against the contract, he will burn as well as his children.

Little did Billy know, his children were already harvested by the other Soul Traders. They were sealed into a thick wrapping of tissue and locked with a gem on their chests. Billy would've lived out his life thinking his children were in a safe place.

As Oracion Alma's rule, only the Soul Traders would reveal themselves in public. They would travel, collecting people and sealing them. The higher ups, also known as the Clerigos, would have their identities stay hidden.

These Clerigos are the ones who orders the traders. They would send them on their missions, overworking every single one of them until their body could not move and they die.

The police had been tracking Oracion Alma for four years now. It was hard to find them because they would always change their hideout in random locations, random dates, and random time.

"This had been going on for that long?" Elliot gasped, covering his mouth with his hands. Alice was stoic, staring at Randolph as he continued.

"We suspect it is longer than that," Randolph sighed. Anyone could see the visible wrinkles and the dark circles under his eyes. He was exhausted, frustrated, and he looked like he was ready to give up with this case. "We have found abandoned villages and smaller towns being barren with people."

"Force break-in?" Alice asked.

The police officer shook his head, "No. The doors are all closed, no broken windows, and just no signs of life in these areas. I think it may be because they have used something to lure the people out. Mr. Elliot, have you seen, heard, or experienced something odd when you were in the wagon?"

"I did," Elliot said. "The driver could cast a blinding spell. He casted it to the guard, making him unable to see what was actually inside the wagon. He also tried to permanently blinded me, but I blocked it."

"Blinding" Randolph placed his right index finger on his chin, "Maybe they used a trance spell to the villagers too. And I bet they have Skill Gems in their arsenal. They can't let one single trader roam around with such an ability. It's too much of a waste."

"I don't think we should be more involved with this case," Alice said. She tried to stood up along with Elliot when Randolph's lips quirked up to a smirk.

Just when the two were right by the door, Randolph spoke, "What if I tell you, the Oracion Alma is after the Twilight Bless too?"

Elliot stopped and returned his gaze to the police officer. He walked back in front of the man and placed both his hands on the wooden table. "How did you know about the Twilight Bless?"

"The Twilight what?" Alice knit her brows in confusion. She also walked back to the table, curiosity pulling her into the conversation. Elliot would seem to always get agitated and triggered easily, but him acting like this meant there is something seriously wrong.

"Oh, she doesn't know," Randolph smirked. "Well, I guess either you speak to her about it or just ask for my help."

"Are you threatening me?" Elliot curled his right eyebrow up. There had been enough people who knows about this very dangerous magic already. He can't have more people to find out.

And it's not like he doesn't trust Alice. He just had to make sure that she's safe, her involvement in this would mean that she's going to be another target of whoever their enemy was.

"Help me then," Elliot said. Just as he finished his words, a latch opened a ceiling door. A figure leaped from the hole and flipped a few times until it reached Alice.

"Sleep," Sittie casted, letting the woman fall unconscious. Another figure dropped from the hole and rolled over, making it just in time for Alice's body to fall to the floor.

"Hello again, Elliot," Sittie waved his hand. "Been so long."

"How is Pommel?" Elliot asked with a smile.

"He's retired," Sittie replied with a flattened lips. The man that caught Alice opened the door and carried her out. The girl waved before she followed her companion and closing the door behind her. "Let's clear her memories."

This stirred a small headache inside Elliot's brain. He cupped his head, and sat on the chair for support as he let the pain go away, "She works here?"

"She's a mercenary-type," Randolph replied. "Anyone who wants to hire her, can hire her. As long as you can pay her price."

"Can she regain lost memories?" Elliot immediately asked, hoping to take back what was lost from him. It was weeks ago but the scenes were still too clear, something didn't sit well with certain scenarios in his memories.

"I think so, but you know this isn't what we were talking about," Randolph placed his elbows in the table and laid his chin on his clasped hands. "I was offering you a deal."

"It didn't sound like it was a deal earlier," Elliot copied the man. Although he had a hard time bringing his elbows to the table and placing his chin to his hands, he still completed it. "It sounded like you were offering information."

"I am offering information," Randolph muttered, a smug smirk was painted all over his face. "In exchange for your assistance."

"Do you know that after the Championship of the Greats, I will be sent to the East?" Elliot asked. "I couldn't help you by then, couldn't I?"

"It's not that," Randolph removed his arms from the table. He relaxed back in his chair with his hands now on his nape, tilting his chair backward as if he was mocking Elliot. "We only need until you unlock the Twilight Wings and gain the Twilight Bless."

"Where do you get your informant?" Elliot couldn't help but wonder. There had been a lot of people knowing about this, even though Polschk said that this was a secret of the ancients. The thought of the old man made Elliot gasp. "It's Polschk, isn't it?"

"Bingo," Randolph chuckled. "He had been expanding his network, credible networks, so that we could all stop the destruction the Twilight Bless will cause, and those evil doers who wants it. Polschk has been working hard."

"I had no idea," Elliot sighed. "All this time I was suspecting him, when he was actually the masterminds of this all."

"Exactly," Randolph returned his chair to its normal position and leaned closer to Elliot. "And if Oracion Alma could get their hands of this power, they will become invincible. They'll slave all of Terra in order to collect all the souls they want."

Elliot tilted his head to the side, "But what do they want to achieve?"

"To open a portal to the Abyss, then enslave all the Realms with its power."
