Human King

Chapter 139: Preparation

Chapter 139: Preparation

"Good! I'll kill that goblin and take my rightful place!" Dawn declared as his fangs ominously shone.

It seems that he was serious, but Moris couldn't tell that.

After all, he was new to being Dawn's subordinate, and he didn't know Dawn's quirks or whatever he likes.

And that was why he didn't know whether Dawn was being serious in killing Dusk.

After all, the goblin was laughing! He was laughing hard!

Even if his powers were out in the air, threatening even the smallest part of life, Moris couldn't help but think that Dawn was just playing.

However, that soon changed as Dawn spoke once more.

"Did you hear that, Karkas!"

Dawn said as he looked at the forest beyond Moris. Although it seems that nothing was there, Dawn could feel it.

Dawn could feel the goblins who were hiding so well.

And what's more, those goblins didn't number few. They numbered almost a hundred!

After all, Karkas was the one leading them, and it was something related to the king.

There's no way Karkas would be lax when it came to the king when he knew what happened to Dawn back then.

Of course, not even Moris noticed them. That was why Moris had his eyes wide open as he felt the presence of a goblin.

He felt the presence of a goblin surface from the sea of trees.

No, that presence moved so fast that it was right next to Moris without him even noticing it!

It was crazy if you think about how strong Moris was, but that was because this goblin was Karkas.

Besides, the pressure that Dawn was letting off since earlier has numbed Moris.

It was then that Karkas spoke, answering his king's call.

"My king."

And when Dawn heard that, he just calmly looked down at Karkas.

It was weird considering how excited he was about all this earlier, but well.

Dawn had to give out the orders before he could fight. And that was why he was also excited about it.

"You heard what we were talking about, right?" Dawn said.

Karkas didn't answer with words, but he just nodded his head.

"Good. I want you to think about how we can increase our goblins' numbers."

"I also want you to gather information about every village existing in the south."

"Although I intended you to do that in the first place, I want you to do it now intensely."

"Investigate them all and leave no rock unturned!"

Dawn said as he opened his mouth wide.

He then laughed as he imagined scavenging the forest with his goblins in the future.

Of course, Dawn never thought that it would be feasible to do those things right now.

With how his goblins just got trashed from the many battles, Dawn knew how weak they are.

And that was why he spoke to cause no misunderstandings.

After all, Dawn knew how intense his goblins are. They might just go at it if he didn't tell them off.

"Of course, I meant for you to do those things in the future."

"Just go at it moderately for now, and focus on how to increase our numbers."

"That's our number one priority."

Dawn's number one priority was to regain the numbers that he had before he lost to the Warmen.

After all, losing that many goblins were just a huge loss to his manpower.

That loss also affects how fast his conquering power would be.

That was why Dawn wanted to regain his goblins as fast as possible.

Of course, Karkas knew that as well, which is why he answered with a, "Yes, my king."

And when Dawn heard that, he nodded his head. He then directed his eyes back to the goblin who told him all sorts of things.

"Is there anything else you wanted to say?"

"Oh yeah, do you have a name?"

Dawn asked Moris as he hasn't heard anything about the name of Moris.

Well, that was because Dawn didn't care about it before.

However, now that Moris actually gave him some important information, Dawn had to acknowledge him.

He had to acknowledge him just for that service.

After all, no one could give him that type of service as even Karkas has no idea about that.

Of course, Moris knew that as well, and he knew that being asked for one's name by the king is an honor.

That was why he was moved, but of course, he wasn't actually proud of it.

After all, it was information he knew because he was there. If Karkas was there or he was born as a Five Great Clans member, Karkas would know as well.

'Life isn't fair, huh.' Moris said.

Of course, even if it were just because of his birth, Moris would take any recognition he could get.

After all, it was from the king. There's no way he could just reject it just like that.

And that was why he spoke. Without any shame or whatsoever, Moris spoke with great pride.

"It is Moris, Your Highness."

And when Moris finished speaking, Dawn spoke once more.

"Moris, huh. Good. Karkas, leave now. I still got something to do with Moris."

Dawn said as he waved one of his hands at Karkas.

It was a sign saying that Karkas should leave now.

Well, he already said that.

Of course, Karkas immediately did that as he disappeared on the spot.

He didn't even make any noises in doing that, and he just went back to where he was hiding.

Of course, he did the things that his king ordered him.

However, Dawn could still feel the presence of the goblins surrounding them.

---Is this something that I would have to mind from now on?

Dawn knew that the reason why the goblins were still here is to protect him.

Of course, by protecting, it means that they would sacrifice themselves to let Dawn escape if ever some strong monster or human came again.

After all, Dawn already had a bad situation where he was almost killed.

The goblins surely wouldn't want to have any of that again.

Of course, Dawn feels that way, and that was why he immediately got a hold of himself.

His thoughts were swimming towards another topic. He needed to focus.

"Moris. Do you know why I made you stay?" Dawn said as he looked down at Moris.

He then stood up from the rock that he was sitting on, and he began stretching his legs.

Of course, he was just moving it as he just used his muscles to stretch it.

It was then that Moris spoke with conviction.

"If I'm right, you made me stay to ask questions."

"Your Highness plans to use my knowledge to further your strength."

And when Dawn heard that, his ears perked up.

After all, Moris was right. Well, he did expect Moris to answer Moris, but Dawn was still shocked.

After all, there were only two goblins who were able to read his thoughts accurately.

In the past, those two goblins were Karkas and the...now deceased Elder.

---An old one passed away, but a new one showed up to fill the gap.

Life works in strange ways, after all. Dawn thought as he looked at Moris.

"That's right. You probably could feel that I was training my Aura, right?"

"I will only ask you questions, and you will answer them from now on."

"Do you understand?"

And when Dawn finished saying what he wanted to say, Moris immediately answered.

"Yes, Your Highness."

Dawn then nodded his head before proceeding to speak once more.

"Good. Stand now. I won't be able to ask you questions if you're in that position."

Dawn said, but Moris wasn't moving at all. After all, Moris was hesitating in standing before the king's presence.

After all, no one stands before the king! That is common knowledge, and even Moris knows that!

However, it seems that just pissed Dawn off as he spoke once more.

"Why are you not standing up?" Dawn said as his eyes started to glow up once more in the color of red.

Of course, Dawn was getting angry about this. After all, he already said and ordered his subordinate, but he wasn't doing anything.

Even if he were scared, Dawn's words should be followed thoroughly.

Of course, that was something that even his subordinates must do.

And because of his angry looming once more, Moris could feel it.

Moris could feel the death that would come at him if he didn't move his ass!

That was why he immediately stood up! And as soon as he did, Dawn spoke.

"Don't make me repeat myself."

And when Moris saw the king's face, he immediately looked down again.

After all, it was hideous! The rage, anger, madness...it was all visible on Dawn's face!

And the red eyes that were glowing ominously just made Moris shake!

Even though he knew that he was stronger, Moris couldn't help but shake against this goblin.

After all, he couldn't do shit against the king now that the Blessings of the Battlefield recognized his loyalty.

That was why Moris spoke, hoping to appease Dawn's anger.

"Y-yes, Your Highness."

"All shall be done by your will."

And so, the scared subordinate and the angry king got to work together.
