Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 202: Close Enemy

Chapter 202: Close Enemy

'"I also heard that General Russen brought her back from the snake nest. Catherine was ten years old at that time. From then on, she grew up in the midst of death and became a terrifying killer under the general. Reaper Catherine didn't scream for nothing. She killed her. Whether it was humans or aliens, it was enough to fold her into a mountain of corpses." Dave reached out to press down on Alan's chest and could feel that the young sergeant's body actually had an astonishing burst of strength. His face immediately turned red as he thought of something else. His legs were tied together even more firmly.

Alan thought quickly in his mind. What Dave knew should be the version that was widely circulated in the spread of death. The king snake was a high-grade dangerous species, and its nest was not something that could be easily entered. If Catherine was raised by the king snake, her temperament and habits would be no different from the king snake. Snake nature was cruel and cold-blooded, so it was not surprising that Catherine's hands were stained with blood even though she was young.

General Russen took Catherine away, and he must have killed the king snake in the snake nest. There was no guarantee that Catherine would not hold a grudge against him. This possibility was very high. Alan remembered that when the girl looked at the top of the command tower, although there was no anger in her eyes, her gaze was deep and not kind.

"When it comes to Major General Catherine, she's always cold and frightening. She's not like Sergeant Allen. She's capable and gentle. There must be a lot of girls who like her."

Alan came back to his senses. Dave's hand slipped into his coat at some point and his head rested on his shoulder. Alan could hear her nasal breathing, which sounded a little ambiguous. He quickly stood up and said, "I suddenly remembered that there were still some adjustments to the blueprints this morning. Miss Dave, could you please bring over the information?"

Dave's charming eyes were as silky as silk, and she also grew up. Nodding his head, he suddenly leaned forward and leaned against Alan. Alan hurriedly reached out to support her, and Dave whispered, "My feet seem to be numb. Sergeant, let me lean on them for a while."

But how could she rely on this? She was almost completely stuck to Allen's body. Alan thought to himself that if this continued, nothing would happen. Fortunately, someone knocked on the door and said, "Sergeant Allen, are you used to it?"

It's Supervisor Colin.

Hearing his voice, Dave hurriedly stood up and tidied her clothes before opening the door for Colin. Colin walked in and looked at Dave. He smiled and didn't say anything. He walked straight to Allen's desk and said, "The general asked me to ask, where did the sergeant's work go today?"

Ellen asked Dave to bring a sketch of the sequence and spread it out. "This is a sketch of the sequence of the Fiery Rifles. In another two to three days, I will be able to submit a complete set of information."

"That's great. The general will definitely be very happy. It's good that the sergeant is young and energetic, but the general is asking the sergeant to use his energy where it belongs." Colin smiled and said, "I won't disturb the sergeant anymore."

He walked to the door and said, "Oh, Miss Dave, I have some references for the sergeant. Come with me to the office."

Dave looked at Alan unwillingly, but could only agree.

'"Dave, listen carefully. This Allen is from the General. The General has important work to do, so don't mess with him, you little slut. It's good for all of us." The smile on the director's face disappeared when he closed the door on Collin's office.

Dave was so scared that she didn't dare to say anything. She only nodded her head repeatedly.

"The most important thing for a person is to understand his own position. Otherwise, if he sits in a position that he shouldn't be sitting in, the outcome will be hard to say." Colin waved his hand and said, "Go down and keep an eye on the sergeant. He has to report to me what he does every day."

After being scolded by the supervisor, Dave lost her enthusiasm when she returned to the studio and forced a smile when she saw Alan.

At night, according to the address provided by Catherine, Allen stood in front of an automatic door. This was the officer's dormitory. Catherine's room was on the top floor of the dormitory, occupying an entire floor to ensure that the female major general would not be disturbed, although no one dared to harass her without eyes. Catherine had apparently warned the guards of the dormitory that Allen was not interrogated when he announced his name, allowing him to reach Catherine's room without any obstruction.

However, the guard looked at Alan with a strange expression.

Logically, Catherine was young and beautiful, and Alan was qualified to enter her dormitory, so she deserved to be jealous of the same sex. However, the guard looked at him with sympathy, which made Ellen feel a little uncomfortable.

"Come in."

Catherine said in the room after her name was announced on the walkie-talkie in front of the door. The automatic door opened to both sides, revealing a simple and clean living room in Allen's eyes. Even though he was currently in the war zone, a major general's room was as simple as a barracks. In the end, it was somewhat different. The living room was decorated with only a few simple pieces of furniture and dark tones.

Even though the living room was lit up, it made people feel dim. Alan suddenly realized that this hue and light was a bit like a king snake's nest. It should be Catherine's habit. He walked into the living room and heard the sound of water behind him. Suddenly, the water stopped, followed by the sound of the door opening. A moment later, Catherine, who was wrapped in a towel, entered the living room.

Her black and white hair was naturally scattered, and droplets of water were still dripping down the ends of her hair onto the floor. Catherine revealed a large area of fair skin, especially her long legs that stretched out from beneath the towel. They were alluring curves. Alan said awkwardly, "Why don't I go out first and come in later?"

"What is this? Before I was ten years old, I didn't know what clothes were." Catherine said nonchalantly. She even pulled down the towel in front of Alan, causing the spring light to dissipate.

Ellen hurriedly turned her face away. The corner of her eyes could vaguely see that Catherine was wiping her body and face with a towel. Then, she threw the towel away. A moment later, he said, "You can turn around."

She had changed into a loose dress, but the plain dress was light and thin. If it weren't for the dim light in the room, Catherine wouldn't have worn it. The girl took over a sofa and bent her legs. She hugged her knees and said, "Give me a reason not to kill you immediately."

"What?" Ellen said.

He had never thought that the girl's words as soon as she sat down would completely disrupt the excuse he had already thought of. Catherine's personality could not be viewed with the eyes of ordinary people.

"I'm very afraid of your power. Although it can't kill me, I still feel that it's a threat." Catherine said bluntly, "My intuition tells me that if you let that power grow, you'll be more dangerous than me."

"So "

"So I think it's better to kill you now." Catherine said seriously.

Alan's mind raced. Right now, he only had the devil's praise on him. If he really made a move, the identity of the Origin Tool would definitely be exposed. This was not what he hoped for. He tried to say, "Kill me. What are you going to tell Russen?"

"I told him that your intentions to enter my room are bad. He also knows what happens when a man enters my dormitory. It's not like it hasn't happened before." Catherine said nonchalantly.

Alan now understood why the guards looked at him sympathetically. This was clearly a trap set by Catherine. With the precedents of the past, it wasn't surprising that another Allen would die. Moreover, Katherine was far more important than Alan right now. Russen would at most reprimand her, but she wouldn't really do anything to her.

Catherine's gaze grew cold, her fingers slightly stretched out, and her toes gradually sunk into the sofa. She was still in her original state, but Alan knew that she could pounce at any time if she wished.

She's running out of patience.

"Actually, I was also raised by the king snake!"

This was obviously an answer that surprised Catherine. With a flick of her hand, she sank her face and snapped her fingers. The wall lamp on the left side of the living room suddenly exploded, and Alan subconsciously looked over. Suddenly, a strong wind blew in his face. He knew that it was going to be bad, and Catherine pounced on him!

Alan extended his hand to praise the demon. Just as his hand touched the hilt of the saber, the back of his hand suddenly sank. He turned around and saw Catherine's dress flutter and a long leg stepping on the back of his hand, preventing Alan from taking out the dagger. The other leg swiftly swept across Allen's brain. Allen helplessly raised his arm to protect his head. Catherine's long leg swept across his arm, so much so that he almost thought it was going to break.

The intense pain stirred up the savagery in Alan's blood. He had been restrained everywhere since Russen's appearance, and now Catherine could not help but launch an attack. All of this caused Alan to be shocked and enraged. He put aside his scruples and compromised. His body followed his intuition. Allen roared and pressed forward without drawing his saber. With one hand, she hugged Catherine and pressed her down on the floor. Catherine did not think that he would use a gangster-like fighting style. For a moment, she accidentally threw Ellen to the ground.

The girl landed on the ground with a muffled snort and wrapped her legs around Alan's movements to block him. However, in this way, Allen's head was buried on her waist. It was as ambiguous as her posture was. Unfortunately, neither of them had any thoughts in their hearts at this moment. Catherine wanted to stop Alan, and Alan had to fight for his own life.

With Catherine's long legs entangled, Alan couldn't break free for a moment. Catherine's expression changed slightly as she slammed her head into the girl's soft abdomen. Origin Energy erupted, and the floor was crushed to pieces. Catherine wrapped around Ellen and flew up. She pressed forward and knelt on Ellen's chest. His knees rested on Alan's shoulders, and his thighs clutched his head tightly, causing Alan to tremble violently on the ground.

Allen's chest stifled, and he involuntarily spat out a small ball of blood mist. Only then did he feel his breathing become more relaxed. Catherine came back to her senses and struck down with her palm. Ellen could not move her hands and could only open her mouth to bite Catherine's little hand. This bite almost made him think that if he bit a steel plate, the recoil force would almost knock his teeth down. Catherine frowned slightly. Suddenly, the wind behind her blew loudly, and Alan kicked her in the back of the head.

Catherine shook her hand and opened Alan's mouth. The man flipped forward, causing Alan to kick the air, but the two of them separated.
