Andrew looked at the notebook and frowned. It read how Rick was missing his father and asking Andrew to look for him. For a moment, he was confused and even asked Rick.

"What are you talking about, Rick? He wasn't your father."

Only then did it hit him, as his eyes widened in realization. He blamed himself for speaking early and quickly looked down at Rick. Sure enough, his face was morphed into horror as he also understood some things.

Andrew quickly tried to console Rick, but it was as if something had cracked inside him as he stayed dazed, numb to everything. Even though he was young, he understood what it meant.

His father had abandoned him. As he had spent a year in the orphanage, he obviously knew about it. The thought that his father had abandoned him had crossed his mind many times, but he had refused to acknowledge it.

His father loved him so much. He was there when everyone hated him. So, why would his father hate him now? He had always consoled himself by thinking that something bad must have happened to him, and that was why he didn't come to take him back.

But now, he understood everything. The reason his father asked him to not speak was so that he wouldn't reveal their relationship to Andrew. He had pretended to be someone else and abandoned him in the orphanage.

The realization hit heavily, as tears ran down his cheeks. His voice finally came out for the first time in the whole year, but it was hoarse, "He... hates... me."

In the next moment, he coughed up blood as deep pain assaulted both his throat and heart. He couldn't handle the burden anymore and fainted.

"Rick!"

Andrew quickly picked up Rick and tried to wake him up, his voice filled with concern and worry. He bit his lips as he tried to contain the tears forming in his eyes.

He couldn't even understand what the young child must be going through, and that pained his heart. However, he knew what was more important, so he quickly took him to a hospital.

Rick's diagnosis shocked Andrew, as he got to know that Rick could actually talk from the start and his condition had worsened because of not talking for a year.

He finally couldn't contain his tears anymore and cried to his heart's content, sitting near the unconscious Rick.

Holding the small hand, Andrew said, "I can't understand what you're going through, child. But remember this, I'll always be there for you. No matter what happens."

Rick woke up after some time, but that was only physically, as he remained numb for almost a month more. Andrew tried his best to give him a good life and make him normal again, but it was as if he was pouring water on a stone.

However, he didn't give up and continued to shower him with love. He also took him back to the orphanage and let the other kids mingle with him.

Slowly but surely, Rick began to return to normal. He was still deeply hurt, but knowing that there were people who loved him and cared about him, he decided to live again.

After months of recovery, he smiled again while playing with others. His smile was warm like a morning sun, and it made everyone smile.

Andrew looked at everything from a distance and wiped the corner of his eyes. Smiling, he muttered, "Oh, Lord above, I thank you for giving the child your love. May you continue to shower your love on him."

Rick celebrated his birthday with others and found out that some of his friends were adopted recently. He felt a little lonely, but he felt happy that they were in a happy place. They had a family.

He also felt envious, but he didn't let it overpower his happiness for them.

After that, many parents came to adopt kids, but none chose Rick. He was fine with it, as he had Andrew in the orphanage. As long as there was someone who loved him, he was fine with it.

On his eighth birthday, everyone from the orphanage went to an amusement park, as it was sponsored by the owner of that amusement park. He wanted to do an advertisement and also let the kids have fun.

Rick had a lot of fun there. His smile almost never left that whole day. He was happy.

Shen Yu closed his eyes, as he didn't want to see what happened next. He simply put his wives in the illusion and stood up. Even though he was ready to face his past, it didn't mean he wanted to go through all of that again.

He massaged his forehead, as memories of that day returned. When they were returning, a truck crashed into their bus. It killed everyone except Shen Yu.

'How did I survive again?'

He didn't remember. His luck was always like this. It would be good for him, but the worst for the people around him. So, he had made distance with others and began to live in the slums.

In the slums, he suffered a lot but was able to overcome it. He had even managed to destroy a whole Mafia gang, and then went to the construction site.
