DEVIANT

Chapter 93

93 Chapter 93: Sealed artifact

“Ooh well... This has nothing to do with me” Alex said dismissively as he dragged Tracy to a nearby sofa and sat down. His only regret right now is that he didn’t have some popcorn with him. Meanwhile, Tracy was too occupied with her work to pay attention to things happening around her.

She was eager to find the passage to the underground facility so Alex stopped paying attention to her as well.

“One sword... Don’t hold back” Damian said before leaving.

Surprisingly, he sat beside Alex with a hint of excitement in his eyes. It seems he too wanted to see the full capabilities of the man named One sword. The guards who came in with them stood by the side as well.

All the audience were at one corner of the room waiting for the battle to begin with eyes filled with anticipation. Meanwhile, One sword held onto his sheathed blade, refusing to pull it out. The five Tyrant gang members slowly surrounded him.

Gazing at them, One sword felt something was off. He couldn’t tell their abilities but he could tell they are deviants and they shouldn’t be at the same time. He got this weird feeling around them, something he couldn’t pinpoint!

Whoosh!

Suddenly their suit shrank, taking the form of black battle suits! Seeing this Alex was stunned and even Tracy put her tab to see. The black combat suits were exact replicas of the white battle suits the Ainsworth family uses!

How the hell did they get their hands on something like this?

.....

What exactly is the Tyrant gang plotting?

Even Damian couldn’t help but feel disturbed! Each time the Tyrant gang is involved they are always given a new reason to be worried. Apart from the SS-rated master on their side, he suspected they also had a scientist on the same level as the Ainsworths for them to get this far!

Or could the SS Rated deviant and the scientist be the same person?

“Kill!”

One sword wasted no time as dashed towards the enemy ahead and swung his blade ruthlessly! White sword light traveled from his blade and raced towards the man ahead but surprisingly a bright red barrier formed, blocking the attack almost effortlessly.

The other four did not plan to just sit and wait, they all shot forward at the same time, at the same pace, and at the same speed leaving Alex and the rest stunned. No matter how much synergy two long time teammates have, it is close to impossible to mimic an ally’s moves so perfectly! Not to talk about four people doing it!

All four of them threw their hands open as a black hilt appeared in their hands and a red energy beam emerged, forming a red lightsaber! The last who was attacked earlier clasped his hands together and black substances gathered forming a black energy gun!

He retreated even farther and pointed his gun at One sword but did not shoot! He just watched calmly waiting for the perfect opportunity.

“This...” Alex frowned

“They replicated the Ainsworth Z series battle gear to this level of perfection? Impossible!” Tracy said with disbelief.

Her face twisted and turned as numerous emotions raced through her head. She obviously didn’t know how to handle this! Meanwhile, Alex and Damian understood what she must be feeling right now. If they were the ones in her position, seeing some stranger utilizing the demon-kin secret technique, they were sure how they will react.

They may not even be able to show as much restraint as Tracy has done now. They will just jump into battle with the sole goal of sending that human to his early grave.

“Do you think One sword can win?” Alex asked Damian with a serious look on his face.

While he was willing to let the other guards die, One sword was more of an asset. He has reached the B ratings, breaking free from the normal human restrictions. He is a bonafide superhuman now and has the potential to reach greater heights so he is not someone easily replaceable.

“I don’t know... He is known as one of the most talented B rated deviants in the world... I guess we will find out now” Damian shrugged his shoulders as he gave the reply.

“You have no plans of aiding him... If he fails to meet your expectations, it means death... Are you willing to let him die?” Alex asked coldly.

“You seem to have forgotten the Briggs code... We live by the code and die by it... This is his battle... Regardless of the outcome, I have no intentions of getting involved!” Damian said decisively.

Whoosh!

Peng!

Peng!

Peng!

One sword hopped around but this time his footwork technique did not work. The eyes of all five men were glowing, reminding Alex of his fight with Silver. When using this skill their attacks can never be dodged, only blocked.

One sword’s blade was like a bright white light, circling his body like a hurricane as the four foes attacked relentlessly from all sides. He remained silent as he parried all attacks coming his way meanwhile his cold gaze was on the man wielding the gun, standing at a distance and looking at him.

One sword knew his death would not come from the hands of these four wielding red lightsabers! Instead, it will come from the man wielding the gun!

“I guess I have no choice then” One sword sighed bitterly.

Sword art: Ring of light!

Swoosh!

He made a sudden 360 degrees spin which created a white ring of light around him! The ring of light began expanding, forcing the four to use their lightsabers to block the attack while getting pushed back.

Peng!

The katana in One sword hand fell to the ground and from his kimono, he pulled out something. It looked like an old wooden carving with some strange ancient letters carved into it. The wood was carved in the shape of a hilt but it had no blade.

Lush green vines were wrapped around it, piercing One sword’s hands as he grabbed onto it tightly. His blood flowed but it didn’t fall to the ground, instead, the bine absorbed it and from there more vines were formed, completely covering One sword’s hand.

Meanwhile, the strange letters on the wooden sword hilt lit up brightly and One swords aura change drastically, leaving Alex stunned.

“What the hell is that?” Alex could swear on his life that a wooden hilt is not a beast gear! The change is just too drastic!

“I have only read and heard about it but this is the first time I’m actually seeing it!” Tracy yelped in surprise.

She got on her feet, trying to walk toward One sword and inspect the wooden hilt better but Alex pulled her back with a lot of effort.

“She is truly the same as Silver when it comes to work... Their enthusiasm gets the best of them!” Alex complained as he dragged the struggling scientist back to her seat while Damian just laughed without restraint.

“They are called sealed artifacts... It is said that they are weapons left behind by an alien race... When the Aliens came here and left no one knows... But we have uncovered evidence to back up this claim...” Damian explained, leaving Alex stunned.

Silver once brought up this Alien’s issue in one of their discussions back in the military academy with other representatives of the big four but he simply brushed it aside and kept it at the back of his head.

If that weapon is something abandoned here by the alien race, how strong are the ones they are currently using?

Why did they leave it behind?

How did they come and go without anyone noticing?

How do they look?

Do they also have deviant powers?

Many questions raced through Alex’s mind but he had to suppress them and focus on what Damian was saying.

“These sealed artifacts are different... Unlike beast gears that have a certain power that remains constant no matter what... sealed artifacts are said to grow stronger with the user... The stronger the user, the stronger it becomes... That’s why unless chosen by a sealed artifact, you can never use its powers... Only One sword can control this weapon” Damian said coldly.

“Kill!” He screamed as he tightened his grip on the wooden hilt and let his aura flow in.

He suddenly swung the hilt at the man with the gun from that distance! At first, everyone was confused by this move since they couldn’t see any blade, and even if there is a blade, the distance between them is just too much!

Even the man didn’t attempt to dodge! He felt One sword was only trying to scare him and even if an actual blade exists, he was confident the defense mechanisms of his suit can block it!

Swoosh!

Everyone broke a cold sweat as the man was slowly split in two. The two halves of his body fell to the sides, letting his blood pour out properly!

One-shot!

One kill!
