Chapter 129: Mana Stones
"Brother, you are back?"
Priscilla ran over to Damien and hugged him around the waist. She smiled happily at him and said to him, "When did you return? Why did you not tell me that you were returning? That way I would have cooked something for you."
"There is no need. I already ate," Damien patted Priscilla on the head before looking over at the empty living room. "Where are Henry and Mother?"
"Mother is taking a walk in the backyard, and Brother Henry—he went to take the holy water from the temple," Priscilla tentatively replied. She knew how hard her brother was working to treat their mother, and yet Henry was still refusing to acknowledge the skills of their brother.
Damien arched a brow but did not comment on Henry and his stubbornness. Instead, he said to Priscilla, "Get ready. Brother earned a lot of money; I will take you out. The two of us will buy something really good for you."
"Did you really?" Priscilla asked, feeling a bit sceptical.
Damien nodded and showed her the bag of gold coins that he was carrying in his space ring. "See this? Brother can buy three dresses for you instead of one."
When Priscilla saw the bag full of golden coins, her eyes brightened. She said to her brother, "I will go and get ready now!"
Damien smiled when he saw how cheerful she looked; fortunately, he took a nap in the carriage or else he would be too tired to take Priscilla out.
"Do you not want to take a little bit of rest?" Xavier looked at Damien, who walked over to the couch and sat down.
"I am not tired," Damien replied with a smile. "And if I were to take a nap now, then I am afraid that I will end up sleeping for days. Might as well fulfil my promise before doing that."
He knew that he was about to get busy with the new training regime and everything else. Since he did not want to break the promise that he made to Priscilla, Damien chose to take advantage of the leisurely time that he had in his hands.
Xavier looked at the man who was putting the joy of his siblings before his comfort and lowered his head. It seems like Damien has indeed changed quite a lot.
It did not take Priscilla to return after getting ready, and the three of them made their way to the small market that was not far from the Wolfe mansion. Damien looked around the stalls and the shops while holding Priscilla's hand, with Xavier following behind him.
"Brother, this shop looks good." Priscilla turned and pointed to a small shop that had children's dresses displayed behind a large glass window.
The dresses looked alright, and Priscilla seemed to like them as well.
Damien had no idea about girls' fashion, so he followed Priscilla inside the shop before letting her choose the dresses that she wanted.
It took a while, but when he saw the smile on Priscilla's face, he thought that it was worth spending his time and money on the dresses and the shoes.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
So this is how it feels to spend money on one's family? Damien thought, feeling content.
After buying the dresses, they went to the doll shop, where Priscilla picked and chose before buying a rabbit doll.
Once they were done shopping, Damien walked out of the shop with his little sister and suddenly smelt the sweet smell of the sea.
He turned to look at his left and saw a small stall that was selling stones. All kinds of stones, whether small or big, were placed on the stall, and the man behind the stall was yelling in a loud voice, "Come and take a look at these mana stones! Believe me, you will not find any stone better than these."
"These mana stones are created by the mages of the magic tower themselves; buy one before they are sold out!"
Damien turned to look at Xavier and said to him, "Take Priscilla to eat some cakes. I will follow you soon." Find adventures at m_v l|e-NovelBin.net
Xavier wanted to refuse, but seeing Damien walk over to the stall not far from the cake shop, he turned on his feet and took Priscilla to the cake shop.
This much distance should be alright. If there was an attack, he could still save Damien on time.
Damien had no idea what Xavier was thinking; he walked to where the stall owner was sitting and said to him, "What kind of mana stones are you selling, Mister?"
"You name it, I have all kinds of stones. These red and yellow ones are fire stones; the white ones are wind stones, while the brown ones are earth stones, and the blue ones are water stones."
"There is an old mage in our village, and he personally infused mana in these stones. He once worked in the Magic Tower, so you can rest assured that these mana stones will definitely work."
"Really?" Damien picked up the blue stones before saying so to the stall owner. "How can these stones be used?"
"Oh, these are normally used by beastmen to cultivate their skills and strengthen their beast cores," replied the stall owner. "As long as you are aware of your elemental powers, you can use the mana stone that is closest to your kind."
[Master, take it.]
Damien heard Claw speak and knew that this thing was good stuff. He looked at the stall owner and said to him, "How much?"
"Three silver coins a piece," the stall owner replied at once.
"Three for the pile or else we can forget about the deal," Damien knew that this stall owner was lying. There was no such thing as a mage in his village, he somehow got his hands on these stones and more than half of them were useless.
Only a few truly held mana within them.
The stall owner hesitated but after a while, he sighed and nodded, "Fine. Take it."
